Where Fate Leads - Chapter 9 A Evil Sister And A Scheming Cousin
(3rd POV)
Yu Yan, Zian Shun and Chen Hui were back in the garden again, while behind their backs the two devils were scheming of a plan to overthrow the two.
“I should have believed those rumors in the palace. You are one gorgeous lady Ling Ling.” exaggerated Xue Zhang. Xue Zhang is the close cousin of Zian Shun. Though he appears fragile and youthful in front of others, he is a snake behind everyone’s back.
“I can’t say the same to you prince. It seems that we have some sort of close plan that has brought us here together.”
“Don’t flatter me, come have a seat and some tea.” he gestured. Ling Ling smiled and joined the prince at his table taking the cup and drinking the tea he had poured in.
“We will make a great team.” Xue Zhang announced with an evil grin.
(Yu Yan’s POV)
“Achoo!” I sneezed, scaring the frog away. Zian Shun came over and put his head over my forehead.
“It doe- ACHOO!” he sneezed. I also touched his forehead.
“It seems you don’t have a cold either, which means someone is talking behind our back.” Zian Shun agreed with me and he went back to teaching Chen Hui as I watched from the deck with a cup of green tea in hand. I watched the fast movements of Zian Shun’s hands and Chen Hui’s hand slowly trying to follow his father. As much as I was watching for enjoyment, I was also studying. Since Chen Hui was still little, every so often, when they would learn a new technique which was stronger than the day before, Zian Shun would teach Chen Hui energy preserving magic. I have always tried to gain energy by herbal teas mixed with pills I have cultivated or meditating, though those have proven to not work well. Though as you watch Zian Shun’s quick fist he really wasn’t using any strength at all, but using what was around him as a source. Chen Hui learned quickly though and soon enough he was at the peak of reaching our Profound Qi.
“My lady, your energy has been growing have you also been using my Energy Preserving magic?” Zian Shun questioned as he came up behind me. Chen Hui continued with his training without his father as I kept my eyes closed and took in the air preserved around me and taking it in with my body, turning it into my own energy. Because Zian Shun had entered my space, his profound qi was disrupting my peace and I opened my eyes only to come face to face with Zian Shun, our lips only apart by an inch. He noticed my eyes but just smirked as he drew nearer to my lips. My blood was rising to my cheek and I couldn’t react and stayed there still letting his lips draw near. Our lips barely touched when we were disturbed by a huge explosion coming from the village.
“Your Highness, quickly come out, the village has just been attacked by the Blue Lilac from Shu Shang Island.” called out the soldier banging on the gate of the garden.
I looked at Zian Shun as he parted from me walking to the gate putting on his robe. I followed him.
Together with Chen Hui in my arms, we walked into the village with the soldiers. The whole village was burned with the mark of the Blue Lilacs and villagers came running to us crying for help and crying over those who were still in the village houses.
“Go and rescue anyone in the buildings, Dong Bai and his troops follow me as we go look for the Blue Lilacs, they shouldn’t be far, especially when I can sense his aura.” sneered Zian Shun. Before leaving me, he kissed Chen Hui on the forehead and hugged me.
“Stay and watch the village in case another attack happen, I’ll try to find some answers and come back as soon as possible. When I do come back, please have dinner for me.” he gleamed. I kissed him on the cheek.
“You wish!” I joked before letting him go. I followed the remaining soldier who had run into buildings to save remaining residents and others helping the ones who were injured. I took out my ring and from the cabinets from the inside of the ring, I came back out with multiple aid kits and pills.
“Little Chen Hui, why don’t you stop the fire for me?” I asked my little baby holding his hands. He smiled nodding and blue light emitted from his tiny hands and a spark shoot into the air. First, it was little drops, then it began to rain.
(3rd POV, Zian Shun and his army)
“That’s my son,” he said proudly to himself. He could no longer see the smoke from the village now that the rain had stopped it. He continued walking deeper and deeper into the woods following the trial of Profound Qi. His soldiers slowly followed behind. Everyone looked from side to side, making sure there were no movements. They were ready to take action if something were to happen.
After a while, Zian Shun stopped in the middle of his track and he turned back, his face not pleased. Not only did he lose the scent of the Profound Qi, he knew he had been played and he was mad.
“We are going back, and no matter if she is one of my consort, be prepared to attack her.” As he said this he headed back to the village jumping onto branches as his soldiers quickly followed behind on their horses.
(Yu Yan’s POV)
“I had attended to all the injured and had made meals for those who were famished. I had also found a place to have everyone stay in until Zian Shu had come back to tell us the news. The soldier was also tired and those who had run into the burning buildings were injured. I asked for available ladies to tend their wounds as I went back out to pour a bowl of soup for them.
“Well, well sister, it seems you are still the same as ever, kind and careless.”
“Woah! You are right, he does look like Zian Shun!” A man’s voice followed the overly familiar sound of my elder sisters annoying high-pitched voice.
I dropped my bowl and wrapped my arms around Chen Hui looking up and meeting my sister’s eyes as she walked up to me. Though I have never seen the man before, I could already tell by his high attitude and his familiarity with Chen Hui’s look that he was no other than Zian Shun’s cousin. The one who drugged him.
My evil sister, and a scheming cousin, I should have known. Though Blue Lilacs were our enemy, they wouldn’t have run away and instead would come for Zian Shun’s head right away.
