Wellnow that I think about it, there are a scant few that are messed up in the brain that think becoming stronger wouldn’t be beneficial for them. As for me though, I WON’T DELAY THIS CHOICE ANY FURTHER.

[Golden Heart Mosquito] An extremely rare variant of the Nihility Cherubim Mosquito, specialized in accomplishing extremely high speeds. The reason why it could accomplish such a feat was due to the bloodline’s attunement to infinite improbability, turn the mosquito’s whole body into an infinite improbability drive.

[Void Seraphim Mosquito] A greater version of the Nihility Cherubim Mosquito, attuning its bloodline even more to the law of the void. Thanks to it, things that could not be sucked in before, such as life force, can now be sucked thanks to the mosquito’s intense attunement to the void.

[Galaxial Sword Mosquito] A variant of the Nihility Cherubim Mosquito focused on immense attack power in exchange for speed. Due to the mosquito’s unique bloodline, the mosquito’s body had taken a form that suited the look of a blade more than a mosquito. Thanks to that, it cannot obtain blood through sucking anymore, but by chopping. Such a cruel fate.

HmmI have three choices as usual. The first one focuses on great speed, which would definitely augment my Supersonic Flight skill by multiple degrees. On one hand, it would be great to fly at high speeds since it would take less time for me to arrive to a place. On the other hand, just imagine the amount of air resistance I would getoh wait, Supersonic Flight removes that. Never mind.

The second choiceis an upgrade to the Nihility Cherubim Mosquito? In what way? Ah. In the uniqueness department, gotcha. Since the Nihility Cherubim bloodline allowed me to grasp the profoundness of qi, this time, the Void Seraphim bloodline would possibly allow me to grasp the profoundness oflife force? How would that work? Waitsucc life force? Do I gain like more life after sucking life force? HmmI’ll have to think about it.

As for the third choice, where it focuses on immense attack poweruh, I don’t really want to worsen the sight I would have to look at after killing a living being with my skills. Especially with the fact that my body would resemble more of a blade if I chose this bloodline. Cutting, piercing, slicing, slashinganimal sushi? Wait, no rice and dried seaweed, damnI just realized I went pretty off topic back there.

Sowhat should I pick? I don’t really want to pursue the pinnacle of speed, nor do I want to pursue the pinnacle of attack powerthough it would definitely make for awesome trump cards and titles. Imagine me being called the Omnipresent Mosquito, or the Mosquito Bladeyeahthe last one doesn’t sound that good.

WellI’ll just think about it from a perspective where the bloodline would be a pretty good trump card and advantage. From the multiple amount of web novels I’ve read, how many cultivators have chosen to pursue the zenith of attack power, or the zenith of speed? Didn’t they all die in the end? Even if it was all due to plot convenience?

What I’m saying is, I’m going to pursue a path no one has taken beforewell, there probably was someone who pursued the path I’m going to takebut in a human form. I’m the first mosquito to do this shit!

In other words, I’m choosing the Void Seraphim bloodline!

‘The user’s species has transitioned from [Nihility Cherubim Mosquito] to [Void Seraphim Mosquito].’

Wait a secondisn’t a seraphim basically an upgraded version of a cherubim? Well, according to a certain religion in my previous world, that’s definitely the case. But on the other hand, becoming a seraphim meant that I was getting closer and closer to becoming a true god

Maybe the system just wanted me to feel satisfied, since I’m pretty sure that a Rank 5 being, or someone who has awakened their bloodline four times, is definitely not a true god. Not even the slightest bit.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Not long after the notification, a dark energy enveloped my body as the system allowed me to look at my body from a third person perspective. When this happened for the first time, I couldn’t help but become nauseous since I was looking through my eyes while looking from the perspective of someone else at the same timebut then, I just decided to close my eyes.

Whoosh!

This dark energy seeped through every nook and cranny that was in my body, adding more bulk to my body as it increased in size by a few notches. Waitthis wasn’t a few notches at all. The dark energy actually increased the size of my body by onefold, practically making me two times as big as before. Well, now that I think about it, growing onefold in size just meant that I was as big as a spider nowwhich normally goes unnoticed if I think about it.

Other than that the change of my body size, the amount of wings I had on my back had increased by another pair once more, giving me three pairs of wings. By the time I awaken my bloodline a crazy amount of times, would I also have a crazy amount of wings on my back?

Whoosh!

The dark energy then went over and assimilated with the external skin of my body, giving my body a dark metallic sheen over it. Does this act like some sort of defense? Either way, it makes me look like a metallic mosquito, which in my opinion is very fucking cool. Anyways, two more white dots appeared on both sides of the white dot that was originally there, bringing the total to three. Does this mean I have three entrances for qi now?

Whirr

After adding two more dots beside the original white dot, the dark energy just disappeared with a trace. For a while, I wondered as to why this was the case, but then, a few seconds later, the answer appeared in front of me, being a decent condensation of the qi in the surroundings.

Swoosh!

In an instant, this qi went through the three entrances, breathing life into the multiple small spaces inside my body, while the other small spaces that were already given life were enhanced by a bit, allowing the qi to flow through at a faster rate.

Wait a secondis this qi opening up all of my mosquito meridians? Thenwhat was the point of the qi gathering and meridian feature in the first place?

HaahI hope the blood energy system has a good answer for this.

Whoosh! Swoosh!

Eventually, after a couple of minutes, the qi was finished opening up all of the mosquito meridians in my body, as well as made connections to it. Unfortunately, the multiple dantians that I planned to unlock in the future, merged with the first dantian I unlocked and became one big dantian. Then again, ain’t that a good thing? I don’t have to waste blood points anymore to unlock meridians and dantians!

Ding!

Anyways, with the worldly qi fading away out of existence inside my body, the transformation to the Void Seraphim bloodline was now complete.

‘Constitution +0.2’

‘[Void Presence] has been upgraded to [Void Presence+].’

‘[Void Enhancement] has been upgraded to [Void Enhancement+].’

‘[Ranged Absorption] ability has been unlocked.’

‘[Vitality Siphoning] ability has been unlocked.’

Ooh, Void Presence and Void Enhancement has been enhanced. With Void Enhancement being enhanced, I could possibly see a greater attack power when I engage in combat. This was why I didn’t choose the Galaxial Sword bloodline. As for Void Presenceit’ll become useful once again someday. I’m sure it willif I wasn’t scared of fighting against stronger beings without assurance.

As for Ranged Absorption and Vitality Siphoning, what do these skills do?

‘Lifespan stat is now unlocked. Lifespan stat can be increased through absorbing life force from other entities. Once the user absorbs all of the life force from an entity, the user cannot suck their blood anymore.’

Lifespanah! So that’s what the description was talking about! I would be able to absorb vitality from other beings, allowing me to increase my lifespan! This is like healing through absorbing another person’s blood, but even better! Alsomy lifespan is actually 1 year? Phew. I thought I only had like a few weeks remaining. Anyways, with me being able to absorb life, I can now possibly live forever!

Well, bye bye qi gathering and meridian. It’s not like I really cherished the thought of it. But cultivation, now that’s where I could actually use qi to do shit!

Thank goodness the layout this time is pretty simple. If it was like the qi gathering and meridian feature, I’d probably lose it by now. I’m pretty sure the body cultivation screen is the same, just without the qi stat on it since I haven’t unlocked vital force yet. So, let’s check out the martial technique screen!

Sweeeet. Now this is what I wanted to feel. My cultivation journey starts here, on the third day of my new mosquito life.

First off, let’s try cultivating qi first. Although Jeff told me to put effort in cultivating the body as well, and I told myself that I would equally cultivate the two paths, I just wanted to focus on qi for now, since it’s a lifelong dream of mine to feel power coursing through my veins while absorbing qi.

Anyways, before I do that, I went ahead and lied down on the branch of a tree first. If I were to cultivate while hovering and some predator spotted me, with my newly increased size, wouldn’t I be killed while cultivating?

Ehem. Well then, let’s start the cultivation process.

As I said this, I looked through the Dual Soul Genesis Manual and checked as to how I was going to absorb qi and use it to enhance my cultivation, only to find out that the process was pretty much the same as qi gathering when it came to the Qi Proliferation stage.

What I meant was, Qi Proliferation was just qi gathering, while expanding the amount of qi you can store in your dantian as well. Wellthat’s fine by me.

Blank. Tune. Succ. Store.

‘You have obtained 10 Qi.’

‘You have broken through to Qi Proliferation, Stage 1!’

‘You have unlocked the Constitution Multiplier stat! This stat increases while you cultivate qi. Current multiplier: 1.2x’

Huh. Constitution multiplier? Let me wrap my head around this for a second.

So that’s what Jeff meant by having not enough force, but having great combat power when one only focuses on qi cultivation! Since qi cultivation increases the constitution multiplier, one would need a high constitution to make use of it!

WellI don’t know if that’s the case for humans, but since the system says so, it’s probably the case. I’ll just find it out once I get to Red River Town. For now, this cultivation realm is enough. I still have to go to Red River Town.

Yes, in other words, the previous experiences you had back then were equivalent to a tutorial of sorts, even though the system has done nothing to help you adjust to your current life.’

‘Anyways, the new mode, Expert Mosquito mode, has been unlocked thanks to your enhanced constitution. Would you like to enable this mode? By enabling this mode, you would be able to gain 200% more points of Impure Blood Energy from sucking and killing living beings, while having 50% more attack power when engaging in combat.’

Wha- Have I been living a lie all this time? Was the system just giving me an illusion of power? Well, no. I can feel the power coursing through my veins pretty well, and they feel pretty real. I guess I was just in tutorial mode all this time. Soin other words, is this some sort of normal mode in a game? Or the real part of the game in an MMORPG?

Either way, the boosts the system is giving me is like pretty fucking good. How could I not say no to that?

And so, I accepted.

‘The receptor section of the Blood Energy system has been unlocked.’

‘The effectiveness of the eyes has been reduced by 500%’

At the very instant I accepted, everything around me had become a big fucking blur. Other than a certain radius away from me, which was still clear more or less, everything was now a big fucking blur. Also, what are receptors?

Well, the real question is

Is this how it actually feels to be a mosquito?

Anyways, the harsh reality of truly being a mosquito is now affecting Bell. How would he cope with this? Would he be able to adjust? Will he be able to fulfill the goals given to him by Jeff?
