Why 200 - Chapter 1 It Stops There
Creativity is a virtue. It can bring strength power and progress. This world had long since gotten used to its apocalyptic environment. People here naturally had abilities powers. Most activated them at fifteen however there are those that have activated them younger. Yet when Arill had entered the scanner he had come up with such a useless ability it was awful.
“Arill Clandestine the power of word!” The tester announce loudly the whole school could hear them about his blatantly useless ability. Each power is generally as it says the closest example to himself one could find was the power of speech. In general everything they said was more convincing they make wonderful negotiators however most barely make enough to pay rent let alone utilities and food. Clearly this was a trash ability at least if he had gotten an element affinity he could train for combat . The only people who truly rose to power were those who could fight. Anyone else is stuck begging to lick the boots of soldiers and warmongers. At this point the aliens that had invaded the earth and created a multitude of monsters including zombies. Humans attempted to fully crush the invasion however they had been overpowered simply by the sheer number of zombies. Eventually even humans evolved and gained abilities to compete with the zombies just as we were claiming victory the zombies started to have variations. It has now been twenty years since humans started to stabilize society and create communities. Currently the war was at a standstill however there was no human willing to let the zombies stay as they were.
In response the humans began to train their youths. At first only a few people had ability now people with abilities run rampant. If you have a combat ability you are free to live as you please elements or telekinesis even those with support abilities are treated well. However if you were left with a trash ability or never improved with an ability that could be good yet have a weak affinity you are in for hell.
People are not forgiving or friendly to the weak though one-quarter of the world population had a “useless” ability they were still very oppressed. Why some may ask. What other reason is their than the belief of absolute strength and authority in power. All you need to see is just how families treat each other. People Arill once believed to be friends only avoided him. Others were not nearly as kind after the announcement of his “useless” ability. School was considered mandatory for all at this point. They had to be in school till they were eighteen and this school couldn’t wait to kick Arill out. When he returned home he saw is mother crying and his father furious.
“I refuse to have a child with a useless ability!” Arill’s father roared. “You are not my son!!!!!!” Then he lifted Arill, dragged him down to a far away alley and threw him. “Useless child how dare you even think! You could return to my house!” Turning away the man was fuming. ” If you thought we wouldn’t know you were trash when you returned home you were sorely mistaken” and he was gone.
Arill simply sat in pain thinking “{what had I done at least he could have waited to till I could get a job}” then he thought again bitterly “{but who would hire someone deemed useless}” and started laughing/crying till he slept. Once he awoke there was something very strange. In front of home was a screen.
On it was
