Why 200 - Chapter 10 Issue With Quill And Midnigh
(A/N My god… 10k I’m happy, I think.
Thank you to anyone reading. Please actively point out any issues found or inconsistencies I also realized how ridiculous my characters are though this probably won’t be particularly important. So yeah-91.
Recap cause it’s been so long.
On Dreamy’s side it was necessary to calm down the Crimson Quills before they decided to destroy the city. And, more importantly, if he can convince Derrick and his cousin to let them in on the resistance. Considering now he’s in deep trouble with the quills.
Back on Arill’s side he was captured by the last resistance members in base but managed to free himself so yeah. Yay!! I’m back.-130)
(Dreamy)
Although He did want to tell them what happened he couldn’t, to allow outsiders to be aware of Midnight would be foolish. No matter how loyal they are to Arill that doesn’t transfer as loyalty to Midnight. In fact they are likely to become a subsection of Midnight that would absolutely refuse to obey the actual leader. From what he’s seen they would totally ignore anything that is aid to them if Arill doesn’t say it. While they do listen to the others when Arill isn’t present they act as though anything we’ve said or done that contradicts Arill is wrong, regardless how.
One day far earlier, he had asked Arill wether is power could affect people, mentally. According to him it can, his experiment proved it. But Arill never explained the experiment. In himself Arill is certainly a worrying individual, as he says something it can happen. Luckily he only has a select set of words he can actually use, or he never uses any others. Arill’s actual capabilities aren’t certain to anyone beyond himself.
A bigger issue would be that of having a shared location of two resistances unaware of each other. Originally Derrick came here for several reasons according to my cousin. Already we had a substantial base here that was being poorly managed, with test coming up and new recruits being identified Derrick was sent to check. Other reasons would be needing to lie low. Derrick was spotted and was being searched for so he needed to go far away. Last but not least this area somehow had easier transportation to some of the biggest bases. Obviously this was an important space.
Then we have the Quills. People are already aware of their existence, however no one knows what we do. Unfortunately because Arill made an offhand comment on the unfairness of our current system it is also a resistance group. Both are working to ‘destroy the discrimination of power’ however while Midnight is an organized group of people adults and teens alike with serious training. Quill is filled with bombs, they excel in team work, far better than that of Midnight, even those with weak powers are great when working together. Their more powerful people have issues dealing with them. The thing that makes Quill filled with bombs is how unstable they can get. There is a reason half the destruction in the city is blamed on Quill. A good portion of the group is filled with loose cannons, if any of them are to see something going against the beliefs of their precious leader they can not keep their cool.
Having two resistance groups in itself wouldn’t be an issue if they were aware of each other, however they clearly don’t see eye to eye in methods of achieving their goals or pay much attention to the others existence. With both groups present but lacking Arill the instability will grow. Arill is the biggest reason that the Quills don’t attack Midnight, while Midnight knows who the Quills are and a semblance of what they do the Quills are only aware of their existence and far too many believe their presence a stain on Arill’s land. Dreamy was almost surprised none of the power drunk big shots of the city were found dead in an alley. The Quills are insane, on a normal basis with their leader. What happens when you take away the one force keeping calm a highly volatile group of strangely combat ready teens, there are others but it’s mostly teens and Arill isn’t even aware of a good portion of their existence, disappears. Without a doubt he had to warn everyone in the Midnight foxes of the attack, and put further insistence in finding Arill.
(Derrick)
“So your telling me that Quill is moving, why?” His observers were reporting on the movement of Quill, a surprising number of people join regularly. People from all over knew of its existence and it accepted just about anyone so long as they support the power doesn’t make good people view. The Quills aren’t bad, and are a more public resistance that takes a lot of blame due to their rambunctious and volatile nature. However they often feel the need to clash with Midnight, just Midnight’s existence seems to be a sore spot for them. Derrick was trying to see why the Quills hated Midnight in the first place however he could never find any information. Besides losing on of their most promising trainees there is also captains’s upcoming visit, the ‘check up’ by the officials, further fortifying their base for zombie night, and trying to round up the defectors, though those are few.
