Why 200 - Chapter 2 In The Alley
The screen was floating in front glowing faintly. Unfortunately(feels like this will come up often) that faint glowing was enough to give away his location.( Don’t forget he was thrown into a dark creepy and extremely suspicious alley.) A few people came out and uncovered him this would have shocked him if he hadn’t been so focused on the screen when it notified him of danger he bolted immediately. With someone so clearly east to target and (probably)steal from it obviously wouldn’t end well if he stayed there.
The people were blocking the exit of the alley so he had no choice beyond running further in.
Deep, dark and damp. Somehow it was practically impossible to see anything when it should be past nine by now. The shadows loomed beyond the towering buildings shrouding his unsteady path in a dark shroud that refused to permit vision. He didn’t hit much while running until crashing into a “wall”. The supposed wall was a tall man. With a thin yet built figure and messy black hair just touching his shoulders.(dressed in ripped jeans plain gray shirt and black leather jacket not made of real leather just looks like it)
Suddenly Arill passed out an immense pressure had been forcefully and swiftly applied to the side of his head( is the neck, back of the head or side knock you out. Hmmm I will research later) the man in front picked him up and nimbly rushed toward his base.
This man was the second in command of the rebels Midnight foxes. They were extremely against the power is everything system and believed that we’re all humans how is crushing each other for control reasonable. Even if it happened previously it was more controlled and there were efforts to minimize it in most (it was further along in making humans peaceful not exactly world peace people still fought it was just rare) countries. People within their group were gathering and training to protect those with powers deemed worthless. Despite them being deemed worthless those within the group were actually quite strong and could fight.(not nearly as well as those with magic but they weren’t a burden)
One week ago
“Derrick, W city’s Q high school is having their ability test I would like you to see if any of them would be good candidates to join us” Captain Raulis told me ” oh and check the other schools in the area while your there” W city had the highest turnout of “useless” powers while Q high had the largest number of students it is the most reasonable place to find people with less combat focused powers to join their cause. Many had family or close friends killed by their current system before they learned their powers. Adults simply said “hope you don’t turnout useless like your (insert family here)”
I immediately left and found several people who looked like they could be trained.
“Arill Clandestine power of word!!” The announcer was far louder than he should have been. I could judge from their faces who had a less combat focused power based on their disappointment or horror but most wouldn’t be able to tell without that or a person telling them. Unfortunately for this kid the announcer forgot his reason and shouted an extremely useless sounding ability out. However this ability is one that I haven’t heard of could it be an amalgamation of the powers of speech and writing( yes I made them separate they are very different in my opinion. A person can be good at writing essays to and be terrible at speeches so it may as well be both ways so I made them separate also the power of writing here his more creative than speech which is more persuasive)
Though he was only a few years younger than me he seemed pitiful to have so many people hear that he had a useless ability would truly make for a horrible ending. “{ I should see if I can help him}” then next morning I was patrolling the alley ways and ran into the unlucky kid. Another thing unfortunate for him is the fact that I’ve been trained in combat for the last three years and have actively participated in life threatening missions as a reflex I knocked him out.
“Ahh~ that was a big mistake and leaving him here wouldn’t be any good” thinking that I decided to take him with me. My base had several other students from his school and was at the canter of this alley labyrinth. On the outside it appeared to be a dilapidated one story home with a mismatched roof and unsteady doors. That was only the first floor there were underground floors as well which was where me and my team were working from (for the most part) I entered the building punched in the code(to get to the lower floors) walked him to the first nurse ward ( there are many people with combat “abilities” more you fight the richer you are though most of the team is made up of people with “useless” abilities there are still quite a few who are quite good with their combat abilities) as I was finally getting a look at him I realized he seemed rather cute
As Arill was waking up he saw
