Wild Crimson Rose: Beloved Handyman Princes Courtesan Wife - Chapter 412
Vice versa, hosts s.u.c.k.e.d fry by the Parasitic Bees weren’t appetizing to the Mosquitoes since all the nutrients absorbed would go to the Bees, causing the host to be extremely malnourished and their organs to be failing or even dry up.
“There are way to many of them here. And… I reckon they’ve been starving for quite a while. How have they not died out by now? Were they in some form of an incubation room or something?” Shen Tianyu’s face was still white as she looked around.
These two demonic beasts weren’t immortal and died quite easily, just like normal versions of them. They couldn’t survive in environments that were too hot but they couldn’t survive in cold environments either. And even if they lived in the perfect, warm environment, they still needed food to keep themselves alive. Ascendant Monuments are known to be quite old, thousands, even millennia of years old. In the recent centuries there have been no new Monuments erected or made as the technique on how to make them have either been lost or is only accessible to those who reach the highest level of cultivation.
So, for such a big number of those two types of demonic beasts to still be alive and flying around after being locked away for so long was indeed strange in Shen Tianyu’s mind.
“That might have actually been the case. They’re really acting crazy too. They must be quite hungry.” One of the members more familair with Shen Tianyu replied to her.
Being in a coma doesn’t mean you don’t feel hunger once you awake, after all.
Right now, there were a few more small cl.u.s.ters of colored bubbles outside their large one. Some people have come to their senses and created a shield. But most of the people were still too panicked or did not have the resources, either choosing to run or take down the demonic beasts. A few were trying to negotiate with ones inside their cl.u.s.ters of shield with unsuccessful results. They were still surrounded by the Parasitic Bees and Face-Devouring Mosquitoes so it would be dangerous for them to take down their shields, even for just a second.
Shen Tianyu and Rong Jian’s joint organizations were the furthest from the mess and also had the biggest shield. Though most were too scared to run over and ask for help.
Looking at it clearly, the Parasitic Bees and Face-Devouring Mosquitoes were pouring out form a hole in the wall on their left, next to where the young girl was bothering her teammates to press a button in the wall.
“What should we do with this…” Shen Tianyu looked around. Although the Parasitic Bees and Face-Devouring Mosquitoes had yet to reach them, maintaining the Shield itself needed a constant supply of spiritual energy, not to mention the large ground it was covering.
“Let’s switch Shield duty, I don’t think it would be good for me to keep it up.” She wasn’t running out of spiritual energy but using up all her spiritual energy for a shield right now was not wise.
“Alright. I’ll take up Shield duty. Tell me when you’re ready.” Rong Jian replied.
“Are you sure?” She sked him with raised brows. Although the Light talismans didn’t need a constant supply like the Shield Talisman, but he still did use some to light them up.
“I’ll be fine, this much is nothing to me. I’ll show you just how great your husband is.” He responded with a proud smile.
“Okay… Then, get ready, I’m taking it down in a second.” Shen Tianyu waved the talisman that she had took into her hands at some point.
Rong Jian took out another talisman with the exact same markings and injected his spiritual power. A bubble of a different color, an icy blue, appeared from nowhere and stopped just inside the golden bubble that Shen Tianyu had up. Seeing a new Shield was made, Shen Tianyu cut her supply into the talisman and the golden bubble shattered into sparkling light particles. The talisman in her hand subsequently burned up in dark blue flames without any trace. The flame only appears as a warning that the talisman was no longer usable and does no harm, whether it was to other animals or a cultivator.
Perhaps the particles of spiritual energy attracted their attention but a portion of the demonic beasts that had been hounding the other cultivators near their place of exit started to fly towards them.
“Looks like you have your work cut out for you.” Shen Tianyu commented as she looked on in disinterest. Despite her comment, she was sure these low-level demonic beasts wouldn’t be able to break through Rong Jian’s Shield.
“Leave it to me.” Rong Jian replied just as flippantly. These minions would not be able to damage the Shield enough for him to increase his input. The only time a cultivator would need to increase his input of spiritual energy when using the Shield talisman was if someone or something managed to make a hole in the Shield. The extra spiritual energy was used to repair the broken part.
The two races of demonic beasts flew over to the icy blue bubble but because the Shield was up, they were unable to attack the people within. The Shield itself was wide but it wasn’t very high, the highest point of the Shield was at the middle of the platform, allowing enough space for Shao Wei to stand up straight. Seeing no way to hunt, the demonic beasts seem to have come to a consensus as they charged at the Shield after pausing for a few moments.
One wave after another, they rammed into the Shield. Each wave that made a banging noise fell to the ground with injuries but still flapped their wings to fly up and go at it again. A continuous, disharmonious banging noise echoed throughout the cave. Initially, there were a few teammates of theirs that showed a worried expression but after seeing the Shield didn’t even wobble under the weight of the constant bombings, they eased their worries.
