Wild Crimson Rose: Beloved Handyman Princes Courtesan Wife - Chapter 419
“…Cultivators aren’t just supposed to sit in a fancy room and drink high-class tea all day. The cultivators that have never truly encountered or been in danger are nothing more than fakes.” Shen Tianyu unfolded her crossed arms and turned around, not bothering to hear the other’s response.
The group proceeded further inside the gates, not knowing what kind of space it was. For a while, there was no sound from their surroundings, only their own footsteps echoing back. Everyone held back on speaking, afraid it might attract something unwanted.
“Looks like this place is fine.” When they were starting to let their guard down, a roar echoed throughout the wide space.
“What? What is it now?!” One of the new recruits was starting to panic. They had barely rested from that battle with the demonic beasts. Even if the opponents weren’t hard, fighting those numbers in a formation and trying not to harm your allies was psychologically taxing to say the least.
A heavy set of footsteps not from any human sounded from in front of them. Yun Tianhao kept the Light Talisman alight in front of him. The light revealed that the footsteps they were hearing belonged to a four-legged creature at least half a human male taller than Yun Tianhao. It had an unusual sky blue coat with black stripes. It’s golden eyes seems to have specks of purple lightning while it’s mouth was lined with canine teeth.
Not far behind the strangely colored tiger was the sound of something rough and hard scraping the floor followed by the flapping of wings. From the limited amount of light that shone on their surroundings, Shen Tianyu was able to make out a section of pale white slithering around on the ground. Above, where the light did not reach, rained down noises of flapping wings.
She recognized the first beast in front of her. It was a Tyrannical Sky Tiger, which usually resided in high mountains that have a lot of natural spiritual energy. They are usually few and hard to find because many such places are taken over and populated by humans and their sects. A young one lives behind the Yaodu headquarters, taking up residence on one of the mountains. Fortunately for it, the other mountains can also be used for cultivation and Yaodu prioritizes experience over cultivation level so it has remained relatively undisturbed. The one in front of them now, however, seemed to be older than the one that Shen Tianyu was acquainted with. It’s stripes were darker and the sky blue parts were brighter. How it managed to survive this long in the Ascendant Monument was a complete mystery.
‘Ruins really are mysterious. How do these places keep creatures from different environments alive? Is there a mountain nearby?’ Shen Tianyu thought as she stared up at the Tiger.
The second figure she saw, she could guess what it was though it had yet to appear in all its glory so she couldn’t guarantee it. Shen Tianyu guessed it was a Two Headed Bone Snake. From the section of pale white she saw, it was indeed sectioned off, much like the bones of a snake skeleton but twenty times bigger. There were two prongs connecting one rib to the next. The smoothness of the bone and it’s slithering sound proved that it had been around for a while, the two heads should have adjusted to their situation and are not fighting each other for control of the body. Ones with only one prong are called Bone Snakes, there none of this species that have less than one prong. Three heads and three prongs is the most evolved of the Bone Snake species that has been recorded thus far.
Two Headed Bone Snakes have two skulls growing out of the spine and neck. Their whole body is that of a giant snake skeleton. They usually reside in deserts, where they can easily hide in sand dunes. The problematic thing about them is that their bodies, or bones, are incredibly strong and would normally repel even swords imbued with spiritual power. Their main source of nutrients are lizards, cacti, and any other living things in their surroundings. There are some that feed on humans that trespass into their territory, but humans are not it’s main diet.
The third, flying creature that she head, Shen Tianyu was unable to identify as there were a lot of demonic creatures that can fly. The only thing she could get was that the creature was covered in either fur or feathers because the flapping of the wings sounded heavier than simple bones and tissue.
“Um… Is there something you need? We’re just trying to pass through the Ascendant Monument.” Shen Tianyu spoke to the Tyrannical Sky Tiger. Since she was acquainted with a younger one, she felt more at ease speaking to the Tyrannical Sky Tiger, even if it’s size was bigger and she had to crane her neck to see it’s face.
The Tyrannical Sky Tiger snorted. “A human is asking us what we need? What could we possibly need from you?” A deep, aged voice resounded from the Tiger’s open mouth, but its mouth didn’t close and open like human mouths do when they speak.
“What an interesting human. Hey, Old Qi, you’re not going to eat her are you?” A playful female voice echoed from Shen Tianyu’s left, probably from the Two Headed Bone Snake.
“For the millionth time, I do not eat humans.” The Tyrannical Sky Tiger, Old Qi, commented in exasperation, seeming to have long lost his anger in regards to this subject.
“She’s such a beauty, too bad she’s a human or I would have brought her back to the nest.” A younger male voice echoed again from the left side.
