Wild Crimson Rose: Beloved Handyman Princes Courtesan Wife - Chapter 420
“She’s such a beauty, too bad she’s a human or I would have brought her back to the nest.” A younger male voice echoed again from the left side.
“She’s already wed.” Rong Jian abruptly spoke up from beside Shen Tianyu.
“Oooohh… jealous husband are we? How adorable!” The female voice cooed.
“Hm. Not a surprise. Seeing as I fancy her.” The male voice echoed.
“Oh, shut up you. Stop saying that to every human girl you see, what’s the use in that anyways you stupid fool.” The female voice reprimanded.
“Um… If you don’t need anything, may we pass?” Shen Tianyu asked, this time not directing her question to anyone in particular.
“What a good-mannered young’un. You don’t see a lot of those.” A voice resembling an old woman sounded from above them.
“I agree. However, though we do not need anything from you, this is our Master’s Monument, so we can’t just let you pass so easily.” The Tyrannical Sky Tiger, Old Qi remarked.
“The girl is pretty and well-mannered so why don’t we go easy on her?” The playful female voice sounded.
“What do you think, Old Gu?” Old Qi threw the decision to the being in the air.
“We haven’t had visitors in a long time. I think it’s about time we got a bit of exercise.” The old grandma voice answered back.
“Oh! I agree, I agree!” The Two Headed Bone Snake yelled in excitement, it’s body slithering around.
“I also think it is a good idea.” Old Qi agreed.
“Then, let’s set some rules up first. There are three of us. You humans can only send two people to fight one of us. Any more is forbidden, and this includes helping a pair in the middle of a battle, if you try to cheat, we’ll call the others to come and annihilate you all. Life-threatening poisons are also forbidden. This will just serve as sparring so we’ll try not to seriously injure you guys but there’s no guarantee. Only one of us will be fighting at each given time.” The old grandma stated without much fluctuation in her voice.
“Uhh… what should we do?” One of the underlings asked Rong Jian.
Rong Jian looked at Shen Tianyu in answer. Seeing Rong Jian’s gaze land on her, Shen Tianyu’s eyebrow twitched but she didn’t say anything. Instead, she turned towards the direction of the creature in the air.
“Alright. We accept, how long do we have to decide our teams?” Shen Tianyu asked.
“Two incense sticks of time should be enough for you guys, no?” The grandma voice answered.
“Alright. Thank you.” Shen Tianyu nodded and turned to the others.
“You want to send some of your guys or no?” She asked the man next to her.
“Does Tian’er want to?” He asked in return.
“Aren’t they your people? Don’t make me decide everything, are you going to pin it on me when something goes wrong? Is that it?” She joked.
“Of course not. But you’re my wife now so what’s mine is also yours. Feel free to command them as you see fit.” Rong Jian tugged on her hand with a pitiful face as if he had been wronged.
‘Who?! Who is this?! What did you do to our Young Master, you witch! Fox demon!’ The black-clothed men stared at the display of their Master acting like a pitiful child with wide, unblinking eyes.
“You say that but I don’t even know what they do or what kind of people they are. Anyways, I’m busy enough as it is, don’t push more work onto me. You decide yourself if you want them to participate or not.” She said so as she hooked her fingers around Rong Jian’s.
Though the secular world might have a dark impression of the more ugly side of Jianghu but even there, organizations can be separated into different types. There are the regular mercenaries who take random requests or act as guards for hire, there are the assassin guilds who specialize in killing others and then there are coalitions of unholy researchers who come up with a variety of things that people at large consider unethical. And among those general types, there are also two different tiers. Some of those organizations are associated with political figures in the secular world, doing that person or that family’s dirty work or helping them pull down their competitors. The other tier are the independents who have no backing but are also not limited in what they can and cannot do. In a dog eat dog world, having backing does not guarantee anyone being on top. Yaodu is one such example. They are not associated with any political figure and so does not get backing but they have their own income and have even expanded under Shen Tianyu’s leadership.
Though Shen Tianyu herself did not have any qualms about killing others, she still did have some bottom lines. Yaodu has always been a mercenary organization and she intends to keep it that way. She didn’t want to have any relationship with anyone affiliated with the other two types of organizations and she didn’t want to get involved with a political organization. The latter will just create problems in the future, even if not in the recent generations then in later generations. Also, she really has had a lot of work since taking on the leadership. She’s only able to manage now because of all the people that have helped and because she had a made a clear order of authority early on. The Managers and Elders are helping her manage the more mundane things and there’s Muo Jeng for any emergencies. But once she’s finished with her study and little vacation, she’ll still have to pick up the duties.
“Hm… There are more martial artists in my group so how about we send two pairs?” Rong Jian looked at Shen Tianyu to gauge her reaction.
“If you want to send two pairs then just say so. No need to ask me.” She shrugged and looked over her own people. In terms of cultivation, she definitely could not beat any of the three demonic beasts. And she relied on poison to make u the gap, deadly poisons at that, so she was afraid she might violate the rules if she went out herself.
Tyrannical Sky Tigers, despite not eating humans or exhibiting any type of “demonic” behavior are still considered demonic beasts. For all demonic beasts are different from regular beasts and much stronger, even more so than human cultivators. What cultivators consider “Holy Beasts”, by definition, can only be summoned from the heavens. As in, they do not naturally exist in the wilds. Therefore, even vegetarians like rabbit demonic beasts or species like the Tyrannical Sky Tiger that don’t bother with others unless intruded upon, are still considered as such. To say it kindly, it is because they are a potential danger to human society. To put it harshly, it is so that no one will oppose even if you kill or cage them, for they are “demonic”, and “demonic” by definition is bad or evil.
