Wild Crimson Rose: Beloved Handyman Princes Courtesan Wife - Chapter 424
If one was to truly become a cultivator, they should not rely on sight for demonic beasts understand how important sight is to any creature.
With this laid before her, Shen Tianyuw as more sure than ever that these people were part of the two groups she did not wish to interact with. Though it won’t majorly affect her relationship with Rong Jian but she will be careful about interacting with the moving forward.
Cultivators that have actually been in the field would not be stumbling about like they do when they loose their sight. Though it could be said that assassins worked in the darkness, and would have also trained their other senses, it is hard to do so with large groups. And anyways, the truly superior assassins are always a single person or a family, never something as big as an organization. People like that who work in organizations have the assurance of backup since their primary function is ambushing so they are lacking in other aspects of training, unlike lone killers. And since they interact with humans more, their motions when fighting demonic beasts are often stiff or hesitant. Some demonic beast may have intelligence and even able to speak like humans but they are not humans in the end. Their attack patterns and when they back off are different and those factors are different for each demonic beast and each species. Even if you knew how to fight against them it was useless, because they did not put that knowledge into practice on a regular basis. The body did not coordinate well with the mind just like being off the field for an extended period of time or when a person wakes up from a long coma.
That was also why Yaodu’s training was so freeform. Everyone had different specialties and everyone have different breakthrough points. Each person has slightly different understanding of techniques and how to apply them. It’s better they learn from experience than staying inside a training field all day.
Caaaaw!
The Abyssal Crow flew towards one of the shadows within the black fog. He raised his sword to try to block whatever was coming but ended up getting his torso slashed by claws because he was protecting his face. His partner reacted too late and wasn’t able to reach him in time through the thick fog. Hearing his partner grunt in pain, the other man tread over and held him up. The wound didn’t seem deep as the man was still standing,
This was the Abyssal Crow’s basic tactic, their own version of guerilla warfare. They would attack their opponents within the fog until they tired out. Usually, the fog would spread further as time went on but this Abyssal Crow was probably controlling it since it still hasn’t expanded from it’s original size.
This fight also ended with a loss on the human’s end. Though Rong Jian’s side had more martial artists, they were not practiced with fighting demonic beasts, especially mid to high-level ones like them.
“Hmph. You humans are only so-so. And I thought with the scent of blood on you that you guys would at least present somewhat of a challenge.” The Tyrannical Sky Tiger huffed from his position on the side.
“Biologically, demonic beasts are more well-built for combat so naturally humans fall behind in this aspect. And the prior two groups… don’t seem to be very involved in the profession of subduing demonic beasts.” Shen Tianyu glanced at Rong Jian before her gaze fell back on the Tyrannical Sky Tiger again.
As she was checking up on Yi Weixing and Tao Zhouqi, she wasn’t aware or didn’t react to the bitterly cold gaze behind her back.
Rong Jian was glaring at his subordinates with a chilling look that could freeze over the infernos of hell. They all collectively shivered, not daring to meet their Master’s gaze.
His gaze seemed to say “You dare embarrass me in front of my wife, se how I’ll deal with you when I get back”.
The little men could only cry out their grievances in their hearts. ‘We really aren’t in the profession of subduing demonic beasts so of course we’ll fall short. And wasn’t it the Young Master who wanted to show off in the first place? They really weren’t suited for these kinds of competition, ah!’
“Lord Tyrannical Sky Tiger, we are coming forth to challenge you, hope you won’t despise us for being below your expectations.” Yi Weixing greeted formally as she stepped forward.
Tao Zhouqi followed suit and cupped his hands.
“Hmph. At least you’ll serve as some morning exercise.” Old Qi got up from laying on the ground and prowled towards them. Though it had said so nonchalantly, it could sense that these two had a different air about them than the other two teams. It’s senses were on high alert as it approached.
Yi Weixing drew her broadsword and Tao Zhouqi placed his hand on the hilt of one of his swords.
As if a gun had sounded, the Tyrannical Sky Tiger pounced on them and the fight ensued.
Yi Weixing swung her broadsword first, blocking Old Qi’s swiping claws. Tao Zhouqi jumped from his shoulder and plunged towards the Tiger with his sword in hand. Old Qi immediately retracted his claws and tried to swipe at the pest hurtling towards him in the air but Yi Weixing didn’t let it. He locked his claws with her broadsword, making it unable to detach itself. With a mighty roar, wispy, white spiritual energy emitted from its skin and enveloped the Tiger.
With a clang, Tao Zhouqi’s sword bounced off the tiger and he was flung off balance. The Tyrnnical Sky Tiger used this opportunity to swipe at the little pest with his other claw but he managed to block it with his sword. When he landed on his feet, he unsheathed his other sword from his waist, both his hands now possessing a weapon.
Old Qi flung Yi Weixing away, getting rid of the broadsword locking his claws and pounced after her, hoping to get at her while she was ungrounded. Yi Weixing flew backwards in the air but didn’t show any signs of panic.
