Wild Crimson Rose: Beloved Handyman Princes Courtesan Wife - Chapter 428
‘I don’t know if I should be surprised or not that people over here have yet to discover rubber. They’re overly reliant on a resource that is severely limited in who can use it. Or perhaps it’s the other way around? The few powerful ones that can manipulate this resource called spiritual power drives the direction of technological advancement? Mn, the second one seems about right.’ Shen Tianyu watched the Tyrannical Sky Tiger paw at his offering some more, unable to tear its eyes away.
“And what are these other things you’ve pulled out?” Old Qi put it’s paws on the ball and took a glance at the other “offerings” Shen Tianyu had presented.
“This is some fireworks. I think Lord Tyrannical Sky Tiger already knows what they are. I’ve made these a bit more compact than the other fireworks seen and is more easily lit. Of course, they are also much less dangerous. You only need a fire source of light these up and they’ll let off tiny sparks.” Shen Tianyu picked up a batch of fireworks and explained to the demonic beast.
These fireworks were modernized to be more convenient and safe. They were initially made as toys to give to the children of couples living at the headquarters and adopted children. Even if they were to be trained, they were still children and needed playtime and toys, after all. Why did she think to make fireworks when they resided in the middle of a forest that could effortlessly catch fire? Well, the children saw her experimenting with bombs and wanted one of their own but she didn’t let them touch the materials. They threw a tantrum and she had to promise to make them something even better for them to leave her alone. Hence, the safe and more convenient sparklers were created before she could get a bit more peace and quiet to do her own research.
‘It’s eerily scary how it was so easy to find out how to make bombs on the Internet but so hard to get materials and search how to make fireworks. I’m pretty sure the latter was more dangerous.’ Shen Tianyu thought back to when she did some of her own rummaging of information.
She put down the pack of sparklers when she saw the Tyrannical Sky Tiger didn’t seem to show much interest in it. She then went on to pick up the next item.
“This is a small rocket. Light a fire underneath it and the item can fly into the sky. However, this one is slightly more dangerous than the fireworks and should be handled with caution. I recommend staying ten steps away when it is being lit nd to run far if you are the one lighting it or else you might get injured.” Shen Tianyu had made some rockets while she was trying to make signal flares.
She wanted to make their signal flares special so they could be spotted and their people wouldn’t be found by enemies in the middle of a dangerous mission. In the process, she somehow made some rockets and after a few tests, decided they were not viable. They’ve been collecting dust in her inventory for years now but the gunpowder should still respond to a fire source.
“Rocket? I have not heard of this word before. Is it fun?” Old Qi perked its ears and looked at Shen Tianyu’s hands.
‘Well, as a Tyrannical Sky Tiger, I doubt it could be injured with some stupid rockets. They’re nowhere near a flintlock gun in terms of firepower. But still, why do I have so many dangerous flammables? I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to be a poison expert character? I’m pretty sure flammables have nothing to do with poison apart from some poisons eliciting a burning sensation.’ She kept her smile on her face as the demonic beast went over to sniff at the objects in her hands with the rubber ball within its paws.
“Hm… interesting. I will keep this one too. Put it down.” It told her with a satisfied nod.
Shen Tianyu did as she was told and picked up the last item to introduce to it. The wooden car model was made in the likeliness of cars she was more familiar with so it did not represent the carriages commonly used by the rich in this world at all. The Tyrannical Sky Tiger also stared at this with slight fascination.
“This is a wooden car model. It is carved in the image of a certain transportation vehicle you will not be able to find in this world. On the real thing, the wheels here are made of rubber, a more tougher kind than the ball you are currently holding on to.” She pointed to the part she was talking about and spun the wheels to show that even if it was not the real thing, it could still move.
“The body is made of metal and these four windows are made of glass. However, as this is a wooden model, it does not have those things but I have painted it in color to as close to its real-life counterpart as I can.” She told the Tyrannical Sky Tiger.
‘Well, cars come in a bunch of different colors and functions but there’s no need for it to know that and even if I said it, no one would understand most of the terms anyways.’ Shen Tianyu rolled it around on the ground to demonstrate its mobility. Even the axels were made of wood so one needed to be careful of the humidity of where it is stored.
Thankfully, her space doesn’t seems to be of livable humidity and the weather never changes from its sunny but cool atmosphere so she did not need to worry about wooden models like this one getting moldy.
“I’ve never seen anything like this much less what you’ve just described. However, won’t this break if I put a little more force on it?” Old Qi cautiously pawed at the wooden car with its claws retracted.
“Uhm… It probably won’t break as long as you’re careful. If you really like it, I can have another one made if you do break it.” Shen Tianyu responded with a sweat drop dripping down the side of her face.
