With The Lunatics - Chapter 1
Now he’d done it, he haven’t even lasted two weeks in his new school yet here he is in the Principal’s Office dealing with his second detention of the week. “That ungrateful creature, if I wasn’t there to save her skin from those miserable third years she would have been walking naked in school halls by now” he thought to himself, while the principal is in his front muttering things he didn’t care about.
As he walk his way back to his third period class (Science) the bell rung which signals lunch time. He walked quickly back to room 103, which is his Science classroom, to get his stuff. He easily found his stuff inside the room as he always seat in front row. He quickly snatched his things and got out of the room before Mr. Boot, his Science teacher, give him another ‘parent talk’ for what he’s done this time. He walk through the school canteen which is packed with various kind of people with their own food combinations and preferences. As soon as he bought his pasta and bottled juice he quickly got out of the place and decided to eat in the bleacher, where most student snog and/or do their last minute assignments. He sat on the farthest top bench, dropped his bag beside him and eat his lunch alone. Lonely, that sums up his couple of weeks in this school by now. He doesn’t like company that much. He likes to stare and observe every person that stumble across him, judging by the look of them if he likes them or not. Apparently, he’s not the typical transferee student who adjusts in the new environment, he sort of let the people around adjust for him.
He sighed, a sigh of surrender
He’s not liking his new school as he had expected. He talked to his parents about going to different school but as this is the nearest, he just have no choice. Clay’s family have just moved in the town of Hungleton which is a 10 minute drive from school. Quite convenient for them actually, as they are still new to the neighborhood.
Looking back to what happened that morning: Clay was on his first period subject when i suddenly felt the urge to walk. He doesn’t know why but he just really think that he should be walking right now. He then raised his hand ti signal his his teacher. “Question Mr. Clay?” His teacher inquired. “No, i was just getting you permission to use the lavatory” Clay said politely, he’s not a bad student, wasn’t he? His teacher responded with a nod and continued on whatever he was talking about.
He was walking through the quiet hall alone. Now he’s in a more contented feeling inside him, he’s where he really needs to be right now. Outside the classroom. Everything that you can see outside in the hall looks normal, there are locker everywhere, vandalism as to what Clay thinks about those miserably displeasing to the eye piece of Art, trash bins, and also a couple of students lurking in the girl’s bathroom. And what happens next is what leads to Clay’s detention that day.
He slowly ate his lunch while he cringe watching those miserable, hormonal first years blushing as they watch their pre-evolved partner probably already talking about their marriage and stuff. His mood became worse when he suddenly see the girl that led him to his second detention, which was another of those damn lines saying “I will not do it again, i’m sorry” in a dozen of parchment,he quickly grab his stuff and followed the lunatic.
As soon as he got close to her he shouted “what the hell? Is saying thank you that hard for you that you even throw me to my detention?” she turned around her blonde, silky hair glowing in favor with the sunlight, her ocean blue eyes staring in his face, a brow is raised, she said “Can you please remind when did i needed your help?” Not very surprised at her attitude, typical stubborn girl, he responded “Not until i caught those third years sneaking in the girl’s lavatory trying to pull your skirt from beneath the door” but the girl quickly snapped, “And how would I be sure that you’re not one of them?” He was deeply irritated by the girl’s respond, “This girl is a pure lunatic” he said to himself, “Whatever, think what you want to think you ungrateful ginger” he said, his voice quickly toning down in every word, “what was that?” The girl said, “Nothing” he said, turning his back to the girl with so much annoyance that he just threw the juice bottle from afar without knowing where it landed.
He look at his watch and realizes it’s five minutes before the fourth period starts, “dang it” he whispered, he walked quickly back to his locker to get his stuff for the next period, Mathematics, which is his favorite subject that keeps him entertained in school, and rapidly walk his way to room 67. He always wanted to be early in his math classes so he can be seated at the front row, which was his preference as no student is dumb enough to have the courage to talk with him in front of a teacher and also because he doesn’t want his favorite subject be blocked by crumbly hair and pimply heads.
Everything was fine now. He’s in his favorite subject which now they tackle about derivatives. Clay has absolutely no idea where the hell he’ll use the derivatives someday in his life outside the school but all he knows is that, it’s easy. Not long enough, a staff knocked in the door which Ms. Lane, the math teacher, politely opened. “May i excuse Mr. Clay? The principal wants to see you again” she said with a piercing look in the staff’s eyes that feels very far from being in a couch. He can hear his classmates murmuring and some laughing lightly. “Now what?” He said to himself raising both his hands briefly as a form of sarcasm.
