With The Lunatics - Chapter 4
After their first tree house encounter it became an everyday plan for Clay to hang out in their sanctuary. They decided to call their “Sanctuary” because it’s where they spill all their tea, where they rant about life and stuff like that. If they have something they discovered or noticed in their miserable school, they would not talk about it instead, they would note it unto their phone and starts discussing about it at their ‘Sanctuary’. It’s where the three of them finds solace. “There’s just a minor issue, You can’t call it ‘Our Sanctuary’ unless you have a contribution for these tree house, I and Mark already built it, so you better make this tree house a little bit presentable and appropriate for it is our home” Jean said before they depart and walk their way home. Clay is so down at the idea as he loves painting, He then grabbed some paints, brushes and sprays and started decorating the place the day after their first tree house event. He has found his peers, a company he’s comfortable with. Looking back to his first encounter with Jean, he first thought that it was not a very good introduction until he started thinking “If i hadn’t met Jean like that and she simply sprung in front of me in a random moment, i wouldn’t have liked her” and He’s thankful of his encounter with that lunatic.
Clay’s POV
It’s my third month in my new school, meaning i have been friends with Jean and Mark for about A month and half. It’s been a very crazy shift. I’ve been quickly attached to my newly found friends and for once i had saw a light of hope to continue schooling, besides math, because i’ve been thinking about starting my own business tier and ditch school. It’s Friday so that means we’ll be able to hang out to the Sanctuary an hour over the regular days.
6:30 AM
I woke up and, as soon as the thought of being in the sanctuary much longer hit me, I quickly got up my bed then suddenly i felt like i’ve just been recently spun for a hundred times. Am i the inly one experiencing this kind of things? You ever felt so dizzy when you quickly got up from your seat or your bed? It’s so annoying.
I quickly took a shower, brush my teeth, get dressed and crawl downstairs. “Good morning Mum!” I greeted my her. “Ooohh, someone’s in a good mood huh?” She said smiling. “Well you know it’s Friday so would you mind if i’ll be an hour late? Just an hour?” I plead. “Just an hour” my Mom said dismissively. By 7:10 AM I’m on our car being driven by my mom, because for who knows why she didn’t want me driving it to school. I’ve reached the Cold Stone High school by 7:21, planted a kiss to mom and set off to my locker to find my stuff and got to my first subject period, History. Jean’s been back to her normal class since the principal saw the improvement from the both of us.
Nothing phenomenal happen unless you counted Cheryl Shackles, a resident nerd, arguing with our Science teacher about how you can combine fire with water without it resulting to boil or quench the fire out through stuff i couldn’t remember ’cause no one agrees with her.
It’s lunch time and i received a text message from Mark “wer r u? We’re here in ur locker”. I quickly make my way through the more-crowded-than-usual corridor of the school and gone to my locker. I saw the two of them talking with a smile on their faces. “There you are, what took you so long?” Mark said, “Well there’s this commotion at the corridor and it was packed with so much students excited about-” I was cut by a loud groan from Jean, “When will you grow up? You always talk excessively” and with a dismissive look I said “Whatever, let’s get lunch”
“So what’s the plan?” Jean asked while we were in the bleachers eating lunch. “What plan? What for?” I asked. “Will we go or not?” Jean said. “Can someone enlighten me” i begged. “You know that famous cheerleader Lynn Chamberline? I know, funny name right? She’s holding a party later and every one is invited and she personally asked me to be there” Mark conversed. “Oooo someone’s got an admirer here!” I teased Mark who simply shrugged. “So will we go?” Mark said. “You want to?” I asked Mark, “Not if i’m alone” he responded, while jean sat there eating and throwing an irritated look at those first years. “What time will the party start by the way?” Said jean. “It’ll start at 8 PM, so we should probably be early or else we’ll run out of favorable space” Mark said. “Well then i better tell my mom first, i’ll text you if my mom didn’t agree so you can pick me up”
…
“Mom…” i said weakly, my mom turned her head from the television “Yes dear?”. “T-there’s this girl, Lynn, who invited us for a party I-i was wondering if i-” i wasn’t done talking when my mom said “Of course honey, just promise me to go home sober and be here before the sun comes up okay?” She said with a sweet smile on her face. “Thanks mom” i said happily, she then patted me in the head and started to walk to her room upstairs while saying “And also, you should workout your speech honey you know, just get straight to the point” she said half laughing and i just laughed at her too.
I started running to my room and showered a bit then dressed my self up, what should i wear? I’ve never been to a party before. I open up my cabinet staring at it for a couple second and ending up dressing with a plain black short, a jeans with rips on the knee and a chain beside my leg. Well, without the chain i would’ve looked like i’ll be going to a funeral butt whatever it’s not like i’ll be there to find friends, i already have two.
I informed Mark and Jean that i was allowed and that i’ll meet them at the Sanctuary. But before i go out the house, i decided to have a little dinner first because i don’t think i’ll be seeing acceptable foods at a party, i don’t want to walk away to a party because i’m viciously hungry.
By 7:30 i was out going to the tree house, mind you it was really creepy being outside at this hour and go to the direction of a tree. I quickly spotted a light in the tree house indicating that Mark and Jean are both there waiting for me. “Should i climb up there to pick you or should I wait you here?” I shouted at them at the bottom of the tree. After a couple of minutes they’re making their way out of the tree, and we started walking to Lynn’s house.
“When and Where did you said Lynn’s house is again?” I asked Mark who replied “I didn’t, and it’s 98 Sunflower Street, and we’ll be taking my car, well my Dad’s car to be precise”. We hopped into Mark’s car and started our 10 minute drive to Lynn’s house.
