With The Lunatics - Chapter 5
Clay’s POV
We arrived, and as soon as I stood outside the car my jaw dropped,Lynn’s hou-mansion is something that you don’t see everyday, it would be an under statement if you call that a house. It literally is a size of a school building. It doesn’t look like a hotel, more like a resort. It was full of Corinthian pillars and a ‘lot’ of lights and mini fountains. We can hear the music from here, the gate. “You didn’t tell me that this Lynn is a very very wealthy girl!” I said to the both of them and just like me their jaws are dropped and if they don’t speak yet, they’d be drooling in any moment. “Well, when she said that her place can hold some considerable amount of guests I didn’t think it was ‘this’ huge” Mark said with his eyes fixed staring at the hou-kingdom or mansion.
We consciously make our way inside it, keeping beside each other with the fear of getting lost. We decided that we go directly through the front door since people don’t look any more elegant than what we wear, they also look…casual. “Mark!” We heard a girl shouted from inside the mansion. She has a slick black hair that is nearly above her butt in length, a glowing white skin, pinkish lips and most especially an eye-catching couple of boo I was stopped with my staring session when I felt Jean’s elbow at my side-rib which led me back to reality, she was getting so close to me that she was hugging Mark with great happiness on her face. She greeted Mark and quickly turning to us, “Hi!” She said merrily as though Christmas is behind us. “Lynn this is Clay and Jean, Clay and Jean this is Lynn” Mark said happily, we shook hands and she took us to what look like the “bar” to get drinks. “Please feel like home” she said excitedly. What’s with this girl? Is she really always this cheerful? “Yeah we will really do, you didn’t even tell us that this is what your ‘House’ look like, we should’ve dressed appropriate to the place” Mark said jokingly. Lynn laughed for a moment and said “I just don’t want you guys put so much effort you know, it’s just a regular party after all” She conversed. “So what you wanna do?” She asked us, “Well we don’t really do parties so…” Mark said.
We ended up having a couch for ourselves, just the three of us awkwardly staring at the hilarious creatures dancing like maniacs. We don’t do things like this to be honest, My dignified soul will be tampered if i let myself do that kind if dance, now i slowly regret why i even came here. Until, Lynn came back to us with a drink on her hand, half drunk. “You just gonna stare at us? Come on” she teased us. And before we realize it l, we became what we are cringing about. We drink, we dance we even found a karaoke at the second floor packed with equally horrible singers. We’re not drunk to hell by the way, we just drink a litwell at least not so much just to let ourselves loose and since Mark has to drive he just drinks cola, Boring. As much as we want him to dance wildly like us, his sanity keeps his wisdom attached.
While me and Jean are singing duet every next song, i couldn’t help but notice how beautiful her eyes are. Those deep blue eyes that keeps you continue to fall into a pit if you don’t stop staring at it, we can see Mark talking with Lynn, smiling and laughing. I never thought that the first time i see the man smile genuinely is when i’m drunk. We continued dancing with people i don’t even know. It was hilarious. It was fun. After awhile, jean got bored in singing and invited me to the pool.
Jean’s POV
I…was…so…drunk. I admit it. It was so much fun. I didn’t know that an event can offer a human so much fun. I laughed with Clay who is red in the face. We dance, we sing together, I sing solo he did too, man his voice really makes my heart quite the paradise. Time goes by and i got bored with my voice. “Hey Clay! Let’s go to the pool party!” I shouted at him since the music is loud. We quickly walkstumble our way to the pool area where things are more delicate and calm than inside.
“Wow” i said in awe. From the pool area, the music is low enough to hear the person next to you speak with out shouting. “I’ve always wanted a swimming pool in our backyards when I was a kid, did you know that?” I said to Clay with an admiration on his face. I’ve never seen Clay like this, not so formal and calm, it’s kind of cute to see him a little bit outside the cage of formality. I stared at him while he’s drinking up his well-bartendered drink. Then he said “Come on then! Let’s swim!” And before i could process it his body is four feet apart from mine, facing me while slowly dragging himself with his back first hitting the water. I laughed for his idiotic act. He’s funny. I walked closer to the pool while he started crawling his way up again in the land of drunk people. I reached my hand to him, he grabbed it and as he climb up the pool i couldn’t help but admire his wet hair greatly complementing his body, and because his shirt is wet i could see his broad shoulders and his well toned a my thought was snatched when i feel my hands loose and before i knew it the boy has been dragged by the water again. I didn’t know what to do, it’s not that i’m concerned if he drowned, i know he can swim, it’s just that…my cheeks are blushing hard, if tomato-cheeks is a company, well meet the CEO. I looked away with an embarrassed conscience when he laugh-shouted “What the hell is wrong with you!” And i joined in the laughing to get rid of the awkwardness, Thank Zeus he didn’t noticed.
Mark’s POV
I didn’t drink. I don’t want to meet my gran in heaven with a broken face because of a car-crash caused by a drunk driver which is me. I just sat there watching the two idiots lose their dignity. They danced worse than those monkeys we stare a while ago, they sang…well they both can sing good to be honest. They dragged me upstairs where they found a karaoke and started serenading each other. I watched them with a sweet smile in my face. My two best friends looking so good together.
Yes, I admit i’m quite jealous because Clay’s straight and will always be. But i’m not heart broken, it’s not like i ‘deeply’ like him or something, i mean every girl and gay or bi will see his beauty. He don’t have much of the confidence to match his physique to be honest, in fact he even sometimes tell us that he is the most ugly person he’d ever seen. But every time i try to tell him how beautiful he is he’ll just laugh at me BUT when it’s ‘Jean’s turn’ (feel my rage) to complement him, He blushes and suddenly becoming deeply appreciative about nature and timeliness. He always go telling us “Oh look i’ve never seen a butterfly with three different colors on it’s wings” or something like “Will you look at the time, i didn’t notice that we’ve spent 7 minutes here already”. Such a lame excuse. This boy literally has been the most awkward person i’ve ever met.
Now back to the chaotic dancing of this two. While i was laughing at them i suddenly felt a hand on my right shoulder and i quickly reacted to it as if i was electrically shocked. “Oops, someone’s a bit tense here” the voice said as i turned around, i saw it was Lynn. “Oh sorry, i didn’t expect someone touching me HAHA” i joked. She laughed, “How you doing? Enjoying the party eh?” Lynn asked, “More like enjoying watching this two prick doing things they’ll regret when they sober up” I said to her smiling. “You’re quite the team are you?” She said. “Yeah” i slowly answered still smiling. Then the two quickly ran through the pool area and I didn’t feel like following them so i continued having a conversation with Lynn. “So…what’s with this party?” I asked her then she smiled and said “Just wanted a good time while i can, you see my dad will come back from Hawaii in the next two days from his business trip” she explained and we started walking through a room that looked like a theatre room, which was less crowded and less noisy. We started conversing with each other, I mostly listen to her stories about how his dad decided to be in this town because of it’s peaceful and relaxing neighbors and stuff like that. Then after a moment of silence “You know you’re so rich, why do you stay in such a public school?” I asked. Then she smiled at the floor and responded “Because i don’t want to spoil myself with the riches i didn’t earn, yes i sometimes does but, i…i just don’t wanna be like…like mom” she said still staring at the ground and occasionally looking back at me. I stared at him with a mixture of pity and curiosity, which she probably understood so she continued “You see my mom is quite the gold digger, she’s this white hot girl that every boy wants, but she was so in-love with dad. She was also in-love with things that she thought is what makes her lovable. She likes to go to her dermatologists every week for ‘facial-repair’ ‘butt-repair’ and things like that to make her look like she doesn’t age a single day. Then one day an accident happened, there was a cross contamination with some things i’m too young to understand that leads to her death.” She still smiles at me but her eyes can’t hide her broken heart.
Before i could say anything she said,
“Well, enough of myself, you tell me who you really are” dismissively.
“Well i basically grew up here in this village with Jean by my side, and you know I also had quite a story with my family but it’s just not that important to talk about-” i said when i was cut by her saying “but i wanna know, it’s only fair” pouting her lips at me, so i continued “My dad is a drunk and my Mom is a hardworking office worker, Nothing special My dad cheated because He said that my mom didn’t time for him anymore and stuff like that, then he left, i was 6 when it happened. Mom was devastated, her boss gave her a week of leave to settle things in order and then that was it, a broken family” i said casually. “Oh i’m sorry to hear about your father” she said with a pity in her eyes. “Yeah he’s a jerk from the beginning so don’t feel sorry for him, more to mom actually” i said then i smiled at her.
“I think i know why you started this party” i eyed her with quite the investigator look. Then she said “Already?” Smiling at me. “You wanted to get close to me huh? You have a feelings for me right?” And by those words Lynn’s spat here beer on the floor and started laughing. “You’re insane!” She continued laughing “I don’t have ‘feelings’ for you, i for one know that you’re bisexual and that would give me a harder fight” she said finally stopping her laugh. “So…” I eyed her again with much more of the investigator look, “It’s Clay, isn’t it?”
