Wizard World:Struggles Of Dimensions - Chapter 121
121 legend
Ignoring the burning individual on the floor Layton sank his mind into the beautiful dark blue gemstone, the gem which was a transparent some minutes ago had now being dyed this peculiar color because of the energy and information it had received from Shi Chen’s body during the breakthrough. Gazing at the gem Layton sank his spirit into the crystal and he soon found himself in a vast universe dotted with numerous planets spinning around in their own axis and following a certain symmetrical pattern from each other.
This pattern followed was the same pattern in which the whirlpools in Shi Chen’s body were laid down, the information and rune copied had been displayed in this illusory virtual landscape as a universe with numerous planets, although made up of runes they were displayed in this form because Layton felt it would be easier this way and the vast size of a universe model would enable him easily understand, deconstruct and discover the connection and differences between each of them without causing too much harm while also enabling the runes to influence each other and naturally produce more variations of runes which would be represented by planets and other rare astral bodies.
Layton gazed around silently and then dispersed his spirit blending into the almost infinite vastness slowly perceiving the mysteries contained in the vast universe, comparing and contrasting them with the ideas in his mind and slowly filling in the last puzzle pieces required for the creation of his rune.
Meanwhile the blueish white flame was igniting everything on Shi Chen, it started from the blood stream and following the blood vessels the flames reached every part of the body, the energy released by the flame was used by the body to rapidly heal the destroyed parts of the body, the skin meridians organs every inch was being destroyed and re-forged repeatedly, discharging all impurities and foreign matter, the runes that were hidden in the blood stream and had slowly affected his genetic makeup was also destroyed and being expelled.
His will was naturally not exempt from this process, as his will was being ignited tempered by the flame and this naturally incurred immense pain, his will was slowly gaining a qualitative change, turning from its illusory nature to gaining a bit of a realistic taste.
The will was naturally made up of his memories and emotions and so his profound memorable moments kept flashing over in his mind, he couldn’t help but think back as to why he chose this path, he was from a family of witch doctors, in a world full of martial artists, a world in which their outdated witch techniques were scorned and met with scorn, for numerous generations most of their family had been born with minimal or no talent in the field of cultivation.
Shi Chen was the only exception but instead of practicing like the rest of the population he delved into the unpopular witch techniques in an attempt to fulfil his father’s dying wish which was to avoid the death and loss of their family techniques.
Since a very young age upon becoming an orphan he had been delving into the techniques and like all incomplete and scorned path there were repercussion which led to the weakness of his body and the slow but sure destruction of his cultivation talent, after some twist and turns he finally slowly gained some strength through the weird witch doctor techniques and rituals but it was not until he explored that old relic and experienced that bizarre adventure that he was able to leave his home world and come into contact with school city.
Sometimes he couldn’t help but regret and wonder if it would be best to just give up and take another path, although his previous state seemed perfect he was clearly aware of what kind of pressure and dangers lay beneath the surface, his inscription of runes in his blood was slowly crippling him, the foreign energies generated by the runes not only tempered him but slowly damaged him, which was an unsolvable problem he could only bypass it by making us of the body’s natural system, strengthening his heart, increasing the speed of operation and burden of the vital organs in his body to detoxify and heal him at all times forcing his body to unnaturally adapt and evolve to the numerous changes that were occurring to him.
…..
Such a fierce modification and operation naturally had its price and so his lifespan was cut in half, if not for the abundant resources of school city that were able to replenish one’s lifespan he would have either died of an exhausted lifespan a long time ago or become unable to wait and advance perfectly while making sure other practitioners could follow his path with minimal detours and dangers ensuring his father’s wish would come to fruition.
Shi Chen was not as lucky as Layton who was a seed the core of his civilization, had a tutor and was a champion, Shi Chen although a genius had to work twice as hard as anyone, his path was a crooked one, the resources he needed for basic survival immense the basic knowledge he needed to perfect his crooked path wide the credits needed to create the research team in order to deduct and minimize the dangers his crooked path brought to him were immense and so he had performed countless horrors, done things he wasn’t proud of to attain what he had today and it was these horrendous memories that were being replayed over and over again in this state of extreme pain brought by the divine flame, But despite reliving all these trials and painful experiences Shi Chen Was not shaken he just viewed all this calmly, although he was not proud of those dark moments, Shi Chen never thought of denying them it was those painful experiences dark thoughts, numerous scars and near death experiences that shaped who he was today.
The flame surrounding his body slowly receded bringing Shi Chen out of his memories and introspection propelling him into the new stage, opening his shut eyes a mysterious realm enveloped the area around him, the breakthrough was over, the legendary stage had been finally achieved.
