World Destruction X Universe Salvation - 16 Miscalculation
“Wind Type Awakened Skill.” Thorn calmly revealed the nature of his Awakened Skill.
“Fight!” Lenna Zelu ordered, a solemn tone in her voice.
In the next instant, Thorn, as some kind of ghost, appeared in front of the gargoyle.
And before he even had the opportunity to react, Thorn’s wind blasted him away like a canon.
“Thorn wins!” Lenna Zelu loudly stated.
“F-fast!” That word appeared in almost every single audience member’s mind and mouth.
A little stunned, the gargoyle slowly stood up, there wasn’t even a single scratch on his body.
The gargoyles’ Racial Skill, Metallic Endurance, allowed them to turn their bodies into tougher ones, which was why it wasn’t easy to hurt them. Nevertheless, this gargoyle’s opponent was none other than Thorn who was very cable of throwing him off the arena without hurting him.
“Jef Ter!” The master of ceremonies called out.
After which, an elephant type monster human came close to the shield shaped platform. He released out a Second Level Advanced Awaken aura. Most of his body was human-like, the exceptions were his nose and ears which looked like if they were of an elephant type monster. And he used a pair of silver knuckles as weapons.
Soon, Jef Ter stood before Thorn, and said: “Water Type Awakened Skill.” Unexpectedly, he didn’t seem afraid or nervous. His eyes even expressed ‘I got this’.
Thorn slightly frowned upon this.
“Fight!” Lenna Zelu commanded.
Immediately after, Thorn was already 10 cm in front of Jef Ter gifting him a wind blast with his fist.
*Fuuu…!*
Feeling this powerful wind, Jef Ter remained collected.
Then a shocking scene played out before Thorn’s eyes: the body of his opponent slowly moved backward and just after 5 cm, it stopped.
Thorn’s heart skipped a beat. (Damn! His Racial Skill, Monster Affinity, has already acquired the weight affinity!)
In the blink of an eye, Jef Ter condensed with his right hand a drop of water and with a resounding shout, threw it at Thorn.
He evaded that drop bullet with ease thanks to his Wind Type Awakened Skill. After which, he clenched his teeth in resignation, and began to throw continuous wind blasts with reckless abandon.
As for Jef Ter, he started to madly shoot his drop bullets.
Before long, it became evident that the rain of drop bullets wasn’t a threat for Thorn, he could evade them very easily after all, but for Jef Ter, the wind blasts seemed unavoidable.
Just like that, little by little, Thorn pushed Jef Ter in the direction of the edge of the arena.
Trying to walk against the powerful air current, Jef Ter started to get nervous. He knew that the only way to have the slightest of the chances to avoid Thon’s wind blasts was by deactivating his weight affinity, but if he were to do so, even for a second, he would be blasted away and lose.
In the end, Jef Ter could only sigh in dejection as the wind pushed him out of the arena.
“Thorn wins!” The master of ceremonies’ voice boomed out, and in the next moment, she proceed to call out: “Huns Luna!”
Twelfth Level Intermediate Awaken was the cultivation stage in which the blue feathered harpy that climbed up the arena was at. She didn’t carry any weapon with her, and just wore a light but metallic armor.
“Special Awakened Skill, Energy Cloner, it allows me to clone things.” She said, a proud smile adorning her beautiful face.
“Fight!”
In the instant Lenna Zelu ended her shout, Huns Luna made a clone of herself appear in front of her.
At that same instant, Thorn started to move like a furious gale toward the harpy.
*Bamph!*
He collided heavily against Huns Luna’ clone.
The impact immediately sent Thorn flying away, but it only made the clone retreat until the harpy intercepted it.
It must be understood that the physical strength of Huns Luna’ clone was in the Twelfth Level Intermediate Awaken stage, whereas Thorn’ physical strength was in the Second Level Intermediate Awaken stage, as a result of suppressing his cultivation in Mystical Energy. This was why the outcome of the collision ended up like that.
While in midair, shock and blood covered Thorn’s face, his mind trembled in confusion. (Ah!? My calculations were definitely precise! My body was supposed to stop in front of her and not on her! Mmm!? Two auras!? It’s a clone! Can she make clones this quickly!? That must be an Arrogant Awakened Skill!!) He concluded as he managed to stabilize his position with his wind help.
As to confirm Thorn’s conjecture, Huns Luna, taking advantage of the short span of time Thorn was out of combat, made 30 more clones! And she even was capable of blending in with them effortlessly, making impossible to tell which ‘Huns Luna’ was the real one.
Before Thorn’s bewildered eyes, 64 gorgeous blue wings fluttered furiously, creating in this way a magnificent view to behold.
At this moment, Thorn regained his composure, and flew extremely quickly toward a ‘Huns Luna’.
Stopping in front of it, he hit it with a wind blast.
‘Huns Luna’ then got caught in the powerful wind and flew away, but a second later, it desperately controlled the wind, and just when its body was about to exit the battle zone, it stopped.
Seeing this, he got a headache. (Damn! Her Racial Skill, Wind Control, will be a big nuisance.) He flew again toward that ‘Huns Luna’, and this time, his wind blast did throw it out the battle area.
After this, that ‘Huns Luna’ disappeared into thin air, proving it was just a clone.
Turning his head toward the remaining 31 ‘Huns Luna’ bodies, Thorn saw how another clone appeared.
(This will take me quite some time… At least it seems like 31 clones are her limit.) He thought as frustration emerged within his heart.
At the same instant, 32 wind blasts combined into a single super concentrated wind blast which straightaway headed toward Thorn’s position.
He barely managed to evade such attack as cold sweat flowed down his face. (What a savage harpy! If I were to be hit by that, I would be already out of the battle zone!)
He wasn’t being paranoiac at all, that attack just now had the destructive power of 32 times the strongest psychical attack of a Twelfth Level Intermediate Awaken cultivator!
With renewed caution, Thorn proceeded to blast away Huns Luna’s clones, one by one. He did this using the tactic of ‘hit and run’.
In the end, after a long battle, amidst a chaotic storm of wind blades, Thorn blasted Huns Luna’s real body out of the battle zone.
When she got out of the battlefield, obviously, she didn’t disappear into thin air. This demonstrated that she was the real one, so Lenna Zelu announced: “Thorn wins!”
“*Sigh*…” Exhausted, Thorn let out a long sigh. (This is really bad. There’s only half of my Complex Energy left. And I don’t know how many opponents I’ll have to face. Damn! I got carried away and said those embarrassing words… what a terrible miscalculation. My face is at risk here! There isn’t more options then…)
While he was making a stupid decision, Lenna Zelu called the next participant: “Ben Kox!”
When Ben Kox approached the arena, a weird silence filled the atmosphere.
Thorn glanced over at this individual. (He must be a deliaf…) He assumed. Out of curiosity, he unsealed his cultivation in Mystical Energy and used his Arrogant Awakened Skill for an instant.
(So, it’s as Rose said. It looks like his life force has been torn apart.) Thorn then showed a small smile as he put on a thoughtful expression. (And it seems like my intuition was right as well, the main reason why their lifespan is so short isn’t the damage on their life force, but it’s the damage on their Complex Energy body. After all, in the end, what is harmed the most when one cheats in their Breakthrough Challenge is one’s Complex Energy body.)
The person who stood before Thorn had the appearance of a slim eight years old boy, his hair was withe, his eyes were silver, and his skin was as pale as an ill-person’s. He released a Third Level Advanced Awaken aura.
“Fire Type Awakened Skill.” He said glumly.
“Fight!” Lenna Zelu shouted.
Shortly after, Ben Kox disappeared and immediately reappeared out of the arena.
As for Thorn, he was lazily standing on the same place, a relaxed smile hanging on his face.
“What the heck…” Lenna Zelu let out such an involuntary whisper.
