World Traveler - Chapter 1
“Ugh… my head is spinning and my stomach hurts!” grumbled a 10 year old kid as he struggled to open his eyes.
The young boy was laying above a tidy bed, but the strange thing was that the room he was sleeping at was in constant movement.
The little boy finally succeeded getting rid of his headache, opening his eyes in the process.
The boy eyes were strangely ŀuster black not soulless nor lifeless. Instead they were like two pristine stones of onyx, that lit up with a purple flare when touched by candle light, his hair was jet black such as the inky night while moderately long that it cascaded over his shoulders.
His skin was strangely pale white in contrast with his previous features made it appear like there is an air of mystery about him while his taller build only make him appear more elegant and perfect.
The boy eyes were full of doubts and uncertainty.
“What happened to me?” The boy asked himself while he tried to organize his thoughts and remember a little about himself.
“I’m from Earth, Orphan, University student, I don’t remember much about my own personal life other than this. Still what was that golden light?” The little boy eyes started regaining its clarity, but there still a lot of doubts that was left unanswered.
“I’m sure that I died. Although I don’t remember the process, I still remember the pain of my soul leaving my body.” As the boy was lost in his own thoughts, the room door was opened, and a slender woman with a revealing pink attire along with a white coat came into sight.
The woman watched the boy with guilt-ridden expression, but she hide it almost immediately as she saw the boy eyes turned towards her direction.
The woman didn’t understand why his expression was that strange, but she couldn’t handle the silence, so she hurriedly broke it.
“I’m sorry little boy, we didn’t make in time!” Said the woman with a sad expression on her face, while her voice brought the young boy out of his reverie.
“You are?” Asked the boy with small voice, while hidden in his eyes were a myriad of complex feelings.
He was scared at the thought, excited at the same time, while unbelieving and suspecting what he was witnessing in front of his eyes.
The woman white clock that keep fluttering without a wind with the kanji of ‘Marine’ at her back, along with the golden epaulets only made his suspicions solidify to facts.
If the appearance of the woman and her attire didn’t really shake him that hard, then her next words made his mind blown.
“I’m Gion, Known also as Momousagi, a marine Vice Admiral!” Answered the woman while her eyes never left the face of the boy.
She was inwardly ashamed. If not for her carelessness, she would have been able to made it earlier and save the boy island from being butchered. Alas, her overconfidence in her power and her willingly walking to a trap cost her more than she anticipated.
“Excuse me, but I really don’t know you, and I can’t even remember who am I!” The young boy answered, only deepening her conflicted emotions.
“I see” Answered Gion with a sad tone, but her sense of justice wasn’t that easy to crack.
It wasn’t the first time that she witnessed this kind of massacre, but the fact that her decision was a partial reason made her feel quite guilty.
“Where are we now?” Asked the young boy as he looked around him.
“We are currently on my warship, heading back to the Marine HQ!” Answered Gion while her eyes seems to be unfocused.
“Vice Admiral san, if I’m not mistaken, it seems that my home was raided by pirates?” Asked the boy again neutrally, while his body seems to be a little shaken. ‘only he knows why’
“Sadly, yes, The pirates are taken care of, so you don’t have to worry!” Said Gion while watching the boy in front of her with a pitying expression.
“It seems that the world is very chaotic, only the strong can survive.” mumbled the young boy, but the lady seems to have keen senses, as she couldn’t help but marvel at the boy maturity.
Rather than crying or feel fear, he already analyzed the crux of the problem, and found that the only way to survive in this world was accumulating power.
Until now, he still didn’t get a glimpse of his golden finger, and the fact that he was currently under the protection of a guilty Vice Admiral that would do anything to atone her sins was very tempting to him to just ignore.
For the little boy who was thrown to the marines and pirates world, justice and freedom conflict, couldn’t care less, what he need now, is to survive, get stronger, until that time, he will be able to choose a side that align with his benefits.
“Vice Admiral san, I want to be strong, strong enough to protect everything!” Said the boy with a red eyes while he gave a look at the woman that was watching him with appreciation.
Gion currently was feeling light-hearted, the boy didn’t bother to accuse her, rather he choose to protect himself and everything he deemed to be worth-protecting.
She was still guilty, but the boy decision given her a new outlook and lessened her guilt. her failed mission could only be explained by her lack of power.
Gion entire bearing suddenly started to change, from her guilt-ridden and ashamed bearing, she transformed into a sharp sword that beamed with intensity and vigor surprising the boy.
“Then I will help you become that kind of person. Call me ‘Master’ from now on!” Said the woman with an aggressive tone that accepted no denial, totally different from her indecisive tone from before.
The young boy show a joyful look, and he hurriedly shouted!
“Yes Master!”
“Hm, rest well tonight, because this will be your last chance to do that. It will take a month to come back to the HQ, if you survive this whole month, then you will be qualified enough to join the training camp!” Said the young boy master with a smile that send shivers to the boy scalp.
The woman left the room with a beaming smile, while the young boy was left with a bemused expression.
“Sigh, now where are you my golden finger?” mumbled the boy as he looked around him, but he found nothing.
Next Day.
The young boy was guided by his master towards what she called a training room.
The curious and suspicious eyes of the female marines never left him, and soon gossips started making their way into his ears.
“Gion big sister is in a good mood!” Said a female marine that watched the duo master and disciple.
“Hm, I didn’t know that big sister had that kind of fetish!” Added a female beside her.
“Tokikake san chances of getting her heart seems to decrease by a huge 99%, didn’t you see how cute that boy look like!” Said another female marine with a big grin in her face.
The young boy was sure that his master heard them, but she didn’t seem to care, so he could only follow behind her while suppressing his raging feelings.
It didn’t take a long time to the duo to arrive at the destined room.
“Little boy, how about thinking about a fitting name for you?” Said Gion as she inspected the boy in front of her.
“I’ll be happy if you do that master!” Said The boy, while inwardly, he was a little bit apprehensive.
What if she choose some weird name. This world sense of naming seems pretty weird, for god sake who would like to be called Monkey, dog, pheasant…
“Hmm, how about black eyes? black hair? pale face? Gion’s disciple?” Gion started thinking of all kind of weird nicknames that the young boy who heard her monologue, almost started tearing.
“Master, those aren’t names, those are pirates bounties titles!” Said the boy with a despairing tone.
“He? you think so too? I’m sorry, master never really had a chance to pick a normal name, I only give nicknames to pirates…” Said Gion while avoiding his line of sight, while her cheeks were having a little hue red. She was really suck when it comes to naming.
The young boy closed his eyes and started desperately thinking of a familiar name that looked cool, suddenly he was reminded of a favorite anime character that he liked a lot, not to mention that his features were strangely similar to him if not for his pitch black eyes and hair.
“Master, I remembered my name! my name is Aizen, Aizen Sosuke!” Said the boy hurriedly afraid that he would end up with a comical name that would follow him all his life.
Just the fact that he will be called ‘pale face’ general in the future almost broke all his motivation to become stronger.
Gion was a little surprised that her disciple was able to recall his name, not to mention that she found the name quite domineering.
“Aizen Sosuke, what a strange name!” Commented Gion, but she wasn’t really bothered.
“Little Aizen, let’s start our training!” Said Gion with a smile.
From that day onwards, Little Aizen saw hell.
