World’s Mystery - Chapter 90
“how about we make a deal?” I asked him
“what kind?” he asked skeptically.
“sharing information. i tell you how we saved chris and you tell me whatever i want to know.”
“I could just lie to you about everything you ask me,” prof stine said.
“oh you don’t have to worry about that”
“if you lie we will know,” I said in a calm manner.
“Alright, I accept”
“Not like I have any a choice” he added in a low voice intending for us not to hear.
“only one objection” he began
“and what will that be?” max asked in a protective voice.
“you tell me how Chris survived first.” he said
“you can’t demand-” max said before being cut by me.
“very well, it isn’t like buying time is going to help you anyway.”
“Our plan was a little incomplete at first just like yours as propounding the school festival didn’t give us a lot of time to prepare but luna really helped us a lot by accident.”
prof stine seemed to be trying to have a neutral face but that clearly was not working as I could the questions twirling around in his head.
“luna had sent me a threat, a creepily identical sculpture of my head.”
“if you haven’t realized by now, Chris didn’t die even though an arrow shot through his head because it wasn’t his head. he was never there in the first place.”
prof stine was surprised to tell the least. it was like he had just realized the earth is round. and max looked extremely exhausted which was reasonable.
I continued, “max had created the skeleton of a robot-”
“could have done better than that if we had more time” max added sitting in a more comfortable position, to sleep i am guessing.
“as i was saying, max make the skeleton which was remotely controlled by Chris and jack, and it had a speaker so that chris could talk to everyone and act like everything was normal”
“all this came together only because of the head so convey my thanks to luna.” i smirked, prof stine frowned and max yawned.
“i believe it’s your turn to fulfill the deal”
