Worthless - Chapter 61
Was that he was stupid.
He might rebuke if anyone talked bad about him before…
But now, he had to agree.
Zeke was an idiot.
A certified dumbass.
A colossal shitbag.
That ȧsshole had the nerve to lick and leave his saliva all over his neck, not to mention his scent too! No matter how long he scrubbed his skin until it was red, the scent stuck to him like a glue because he had been bitten directly on his scent gland.
But that wasn’t all.
Zeke the fuċkɨnġ Roderick actually had the audacity to deliberately avoid him. Ps. He was even leaving some stupid pick up lines while he was at it!
[He had to admit that it was so cute but hey, you are sending mixed signals here!]
He knew.
Oh, he fuċkɨnġ knew.
Normally the man would stick to him no matter how hard he tried to get rid of him. Now he would just zoom away like he had encountered a ghost. It didn’t take long for Jian Yu to catch on that Zeke tried to avoid him.
His heart actually squeezed painfully for some unknown reason.
Despite being winter, the sunlight cut through the clouds and shone brightly like a summer season. And if it were a summer season, the heatwave would definitely devour the people in the town.
At that time, Jian Yu was helping Clement carry the borrowed books back to the library and to borrow a few more. He was navigating through the shelves, one hand holding the small paper filled with the books Clement requested while the other fiddling with the covers to read the title.
He was perched on top of the ladder with no support on each side. Mumbling unceremoniously, he moved a little to the side trying to get to see the other books. Going down and moving the ladder were exhausting, besides he just needed to stretch his body out a little bit.
As he overestimated his body, the Silver-head Beta lost his footing and, of course, he fell.
Jian Yu estimated that the height from where he was perched on was about as high as the second story of a building, so although he wouldn’t die from the fall, a few broken bones were inevitable.
He knew there was no way out of this; he could do nothing but close his eyes and meet his fate.
He waited and waited.
However, the expected pain never arrived, because a second before he crashed against the ground, Jian Yu felt himself being caught in someone’s arms.
Even though someone caught him, he had expected that his weight might bring the other person down too. That was only logical.
The one who rushed and caught him appeared to have sturdy arms as they didn’t even shake or tremble under his weight.
Jian Yu blinked and the moment he opened his eyes, he was stunned speechless. It was Zeke!
The whole incident at the changing room rushed into Jian Yu’s head and his face burst into flames. His emotions ran wild and his heart pounded violently against his ċhėst.
“I think I need a map.”
The sudden question confused Jian Yu. “A map? It was over there, in that section–”
“Because I keep getting lost in your eyes.”
Jian Yu’s jaw dropped.
No. Not only his jaw.
His entire body dropped. Onto the hard ground.
Jian Yu ġrȯȧnėd as he rubbed his tailbone. He was about to say something to Zeke when he realised the body of the man above him had stiffened. The silverette was astonished by how fast the other backpedalled from him, picking up the book that had apparently fell away from him when he caught Jian Yu.
“What in the world…?”
The second time Zeke did it, it was at the cafeteria. And per usual, the silverette trailed behind his Lady, clutching a few books in his arms. He was currently engaging in a conversation with Clement when he saw Zeke walking towards the cafeteria with his friends, his eyes smiling crescent.
It made Jian Yu wonder what had lifted the young Lord of Roderick’s mood up.
And blessed our darling friend Mika. God had created him with good looks and all but He seemed to have made him a human with the lack of knowledge to read the situation.
He bounded over where Jian Yu and Clement were, happily greeting them. The clueless friend wrapped an arm around Jian Yu’s shoulder and the action caused one of the books to slip out of his arms.
Jian Yu stuttered out a greeting in return as he tried to stabilize the books in his arms from falling altogether, while Clement merely ignored him. However, her eyes were glaring at a certain man.
Said man was on autopilot and was in the process of helping Jian Yu take his fallen book, which led to an unexpected situation where both of their hands met.
(I’m sorry to go for cliche moments)
“Do you have a pencil?”
Again, Jian Yu had to blink. That came out of nowhere. “Uh, yeah, let me get it for you–”
The Beta rummaged through his pockets to pull out a spare pen but the next words made him blush even harder than the last time.
“Cool! Cause I want to erase your past and write our future.”
“Oh my god–”
“Smooth–”
Mika and Dong-Hyun sure had the greatest reactions, but not Clement. She did a double take, then crossed her arms over her ċhėst and glared at Zeke with squinted eyes.
Jian Yu dropped the pencil from his slackened fingers and hid his face under the books. But before he did so, the master of pick up lines seemed to realize his situation and stiffened once more.
He froze before zig-zagging away with the speed of light.
