X-Rank Hunter - Chapter 46: Jino's Counterattack
“Prepare yourselves for round two, Demons!”
Just after he opened his eyes, a word of provocation immediately escaped from Jino’s mouth! His lips curled upwards as he was slowly landing on the ground. The aura he was releasing and the energy that was flowing throughout his body were completely different from before as a feeling that he was about to burn down everything on his sight was written on the vibes he gave.
Hearing this, the eyebrows of Nene and Anna twitched uncontrollably! Their fists were tightly clenched and blood on their nerves was threatening to burst out on their necks and temples. If not for their great forbearance, they might already kill Jino on the spot!
Will you die if you don’t get too cocky?
You’ve just got beaten up lately and here you are, asking to be beaten up once again.
But what else could they do? They knew that this was who Jino really was. There was no way to defy one’s nature so easily! So even if they warn the other party, it would only get things more annoying and they might fight each other instead of fighting their enemies.
On the other hand, the three Demon Captains narrowed their eyes in caution. They knew that even though the other party was really a little cocky, his confidence didn’t come from nowhere.
“It’s a pity that my collection has escaped,” sighing deeply while she slowly shook her head, Semi-Demon C spoke in regrets. She then gazed at Jino with her eyes flashed with a cold glint as she continued, “But it doesn’t mean that I can’t catch you anymore.”
Snap!
Semi-Demon C then snapped her fingers and two other coffins appeared before her. A very dark green aura was shrouding the coffins as two words were written on both of it. “MY COLLECTION” it said.
Slowly, the coffin opened in itself. A horrible aura was exuded out from it as it opened.
Seeing this, the Hunters could only narrow their eyes in wary as they all watched the occurrence. But what shocked them the most was that, upon opening completely, what was inside the coffins were actually their friends! They were the two S-ranks that they had lost contact with!
They were still worried about where did the other party go when they lost contact with them a while ago but it appeared that they were been captured! It seemed that their worries didn’t go in vain!
The Hunter in each coffin was as if in deep sleep. Their eyes were tightly closed and it seemed that they were not planning on waking up. One of them was a man in his early thirties, though he looked quite handsome, it seemed that he was suffering from some sort of anything for he looked a bit skinny and paler than usual and his eyelids had a shade of dark green.
The same went for the woman in her late twenties who was sleeping on the other coffin, dark green was colored on her eyelids, and sufferings were written on her pale face. But it seemed that both of them were not breathing anymore but unbelievably, they were still alive!
Their hearts were still pumping and the Hunters could still notice something like this. They couldn’t help but suppress their anger that was now threatening to burst forth especially Anna and Nene.
They knew what happened to their friends, just thinking about it could really make them lose their temper. Their souls were stolen, how could they remain nonchalant with that!
They could only grit their teeth with their fierce eyes to hold back their anger for they knew full well that it would affect their fighting prowess.
But contrary to them, Jino wasn’t really affected at all. A wide grin was still surfacing on his face accompanied by a crossed arms.
“So what now? Are you planning to use these useless fools against me? Let me tell you, even if all of you come to me together, it’s still not enough!” Jino spoke as ‘confidence’ overwhelmed his surroundings.
“You…!” The three Demon Captains as well as Nene and Anna uttered in unison.
“It seems that you really are confident in your skill…” Holding back her frustration in great difficulty, Semi-Demon C remarked coldly. After which, she raised her hands forward and spoke, “Now then, go! My collections…”
Slowly, the eyes of the two Hunters sleeping in the coffin opened their eyes. But their eyes were completely dark green in color leaving without a trace of whiteness at all. They both were emotionless as they both got out of the coffin.
But just after they made a step out from their coffin, a ball of fire immediately greeted them and it mercilessly landed on them! Upon contact, it immediately exploded and the wind burst forth and pushed away the surroundings!
Boom! Sabooog!
The Demon Captain didn’t expect something like this. They all were gazing in wary to the other party and they only knew that the other party was still standing on the same spot, doing nothing at all.
But for some reason, the other party managed to cast a skill that just suddenly appeared right before their eyes. They didn’t even have enough time to react as all of them were caught in the huge explosions and were immediately sent flying in some distance.
Cough! Cough! Ubo!
Trying to stand up in difficulty, Semi-Demon C was yet to stand up straight when she noticed something scary. She gazed upwards and to her horror, Jino who rushed towards her was just in front of her. His eyes were blazing with a cold glint as a ball of fire was formed on his hand that was raised upwards, ready to deliver it to her at any moment.
“Angry Star!”
Finally, Jino slammed the ball of fire against the other party’s gorgeous face. She was then sent flying together with that ball of fire and an explosion immediately followed.
Sabooog!
“One down,” Jino spoke with a grin.
“Don’t get too full of yourself!” Lak who was now angered spoke in coldness. He suddenly appeared right beside Jino and a punch was already greeting the other party.
Jino was shocked at first and his eyes widely opened. But only after a short moment, the grin from before reappeared on his face. He then raised his right hand to catch the fist of the other party.
Sapak!
A loud boom echoed accompanied by a shockwave pushing away its surroundings. Lak didn’t know why but the other party had managed to catch his hand so easily! His physical strength was already considered top rank among the S-ranks so how could it be that an elemental user managed to catch his fist with just a bare hand.
“Don’t be so surprise, we’re just only starting.” Jino spoke with a mischievous smile. After which, his hand burned up and the fire immediately crawled to Lak’s body.
Lak was surprised by the sudden occurrence but he couldn’t take away his hand. The heat was still bearable but he knew full well that it didn’t end in there.
The fire continued to come out from Jino’s hand as it continued to crawl to the other party. The fire then went bigger and bigger as a ball of fire was finally formed! Lak was trapped inside and the scream of agony leaked out from his mouth for he finally felt the heat of the flame.
“Devouring Star!”
The scream became louder as if the other party was suffering in hell. But gradually, the scream became weaker for there was no more strength for him to even breathe.
Swooosh!
A rapid arrow was rushing towards the ball of flame and Jino immediately noticed it. He knew as well what would happen next if this arrow pierced the demon he was burning into cinders. Seeing this, Jino only smiled as he snapped the fingers on his other hand and a smaller ball of flame appeared right to where the arrow was about to land.
Upon contact, the arrow and the small ball of flame vanished without a trace. Jino then shifted his gaze to where the arrow came from and there he saw the bow user, Lelith, holding a bow with her eyes flashing with a cold glint. She was already pretty far away and Jino needed some effort to reach that distance in the fastest time possible.
Lelith then waved her right hand and three arrows appeared on her hand. Without further delay, she put the three arrows to her bow and pointed it to Jino. She stretched the strings and released the arrows afterward.
The arrows frenziedly rushed towards Jino but their direction was not all the same. One of the arrows went straight into him while the other two curved from left and right.
“Oh?” Seeing the rapid arrow, Jino really was a little surprised nevertheless, the surprise didn’t last for long. He then snapped his fingers once again and three balls of fire greeted the arrows with a warm welcome.
The arrows and small ball of fire collided with each other and vanished right away.
“Its useless Demon.” Jino mocked with a laugh. He then continued, “This is how you attack.”
Swoosh!
Lelith let her guard up but to her surprise, a scorching heat grazed on her back. She didn’t know why and how but she didn’t need to think deeply just to know what was behind her. She already gave up the thought of shifting her gaze behind for she already knew that a ball of fire was about to land on her. She could only smile and remarked, “Interesting.”
Kaboom!
The ball of fire she was expecting to come finally landed on her! The explosion turned her body into cinder as it was more likely to say that she finally breathed her last.
