X-Rank Hunter - Chapter 50: Self Proclaimed Strongest Hunter
Gasp! Gasp! Gasp!
As Jino was sent flying and was now standing in some distance, he found it hard to breathe properly. But despite all he’d suffered, he couldn’t help but let out an excited smile as he said, “That’s dangerous. I commend you with that!”
After which, his smile turned into all seriousness as he fixed his gaze on the other party who was now walking towards his direction and spoke, “But if this is all you’ve got, you two can’t possibly kill me.”
“Oh? You really are gutsy.” Lak responded to him as he tried so hard to suppress his frustration, “What’s your name human, and I might remember you after your death.”
Jino’s smile turned into a wide grin as he released an incredible amount of World Energy and introduced himself, “Remember my name to your grave… …I am the Maharlika Kingdom’s strongest Hunter, Jino!”
“Strongest Hunter?” Instead of his name, what Lak and Beels only heard were these two words as they both tried so hard to suppress their laugh but to no avail.
“Hahahahaha strongest Hunter?” Lak who couldn’t suppress himself anymore burst into laughter as if mocking the other party for being so stupid. “Are you dreaming? With a little strength of yours, you claimed yourself as the strongest? You can’t even kill me in a single move just like the beast-like human from before and here you are, trying to claim yourself as the strongest.”
“Maybe he’s not dreaming, he probably is simply a frog in the well. And he really thinks about what he says.” This time Beels spoke with a noticeable mockery in his voice as he stared at the other party in contempt and continued with a wide grin, “The heat of your fire can’t even be compared to the S-ranks of Santermo Clan or even to the ‘Vessel of the Fire Dragon’ of your Kingdom, and here you are, claiming to be the strongest. Even in the means of fire, you are just above average and can’t even be considered special.”
Those words that were spoken by both of them echoed to Jino’s mind repeatedly. Just by hearing at it could make his face darken. It was certain that Jino really was angered this time!
But what angered him well was not the other party belittling him but, “Don’t compare me to those trash from the damned Santermo Clan.”
Jino just muttered it silently but his voice still echoed to the surroundings. After which, a fire started to form on his body parts and was about to shroud him at any moment.
As the fire was slowly engulfing his entire body, he turned his ferocious gaze towards the other party before his eyes were as well engulfed by the fire. Just by looking at him, he was now no different from a man on fire!
“How scary of you.” But instead of terror what Lak and Beels felt was excitement as both of them released their horrifying aura, ready to fight back at any moment.
A sharp dagger appeared on the hand of Beels as if it couldn’t wait to tear flesh any longer. Meanwhile, Lak’s fist seemed to be more sturdy and strong as its color turned darker.
So without waiting for the other party to make a move, both of them vanished from where they were standing only to appear right in front of Jino with a readied punch and slash.
That being said, both of their attacks landed on the other party but to their shock, their attacks only passed through him as if they were just attacking a fire itself. But what made their shock grew stronger was that the body of Jino released a fire and formed a huge ball of fire that covered all of them in no time.
Both Beels and Lak tried to get away only to find themselves completely trapped inside the huge ball of fire. It was as if their strength was burning into ashes as they found it hard to resist the scorching heat coming from the move of the other party.
“Damn you, let go of us!” Lak and Beels gritted their teeth as both of them desperately struggled, trying to get out from this ball of fire. But what they realized made their shock turned into terror as they couldn’t sense the other party anymore!
At that moment, they realized that the other party had turned into the ball of fire itself that was now trapping them inside of it. They couldn’t help but scream in agony as they felt that the heat of the fire couldn’t be endured by them anymore.
“This is… really the end…” Both of them thought in unison as their voice gradually died out and finally let out their last breath.
As if the ball of fire had just consumed their life and couldn’t consume anything from them anymore, it spat out the body of the duo and their burned body fell on the ground with a heavy thud! Both of their body was so burned that it almost turned into charcoal. Smokes continuously came out from their body and their body were as if about to turn into ashes at any moment and be swept away by the wind!
Only after their death, they realized the terrifying flame hidden within the other party.
****
Roar!
The Wooden Golem roared violently as it tried so hard to remove the roots entangling its body. But no matter what it did, it just couldn’t break free.
But on the other hand, Anna who was raising both of her hands trying to sustain the roots with her World Energy, was now drenched in cold sweats with her pale face that was becoming even paler as the time went on.
“Gasp, gasp, gasp, just what did you do to my golem?” Anna asked the Semi-Demon she was facing as she tried her best to gasp for air.
“You want to learn about it?” Lelith asked as she sneered coldly, “Fine then, let me show you…”
After saying those words, she raised her bow then again and pointed it towards the other party. Just like before, she slowly stretched the seemingly invisible strings of the bow. Dark light resembling an arrow appeared right away ready to strike at any moment!
Seeing this, Anna found her eyes widened in horror and it even got wider as she saw the arrow finally released by the other party and rushed towards her in no time at all.
Without any kind of retaliation, Anna was hit by that dark arrow as it immediately vanished upon contact.
At that moment, Anna realized what had happened to his Wooden Golem as it was also slowly happening to her. For as the dark arrow vanished on sight, the reasoning of the one it got hit would vanish as well and they had no choice but to obey the command of the other party who unleashed the arrow.
She really was regretting the fact that he chose to block the dark arrow with her Wooden Golem that had a consciousness instead of a tree that had nothing.
But as reluctant as she was, there was nothing else she could do. She really was careless this time and with that one wrong move of her, she saw their tragic end.
So within the next few moments, Anna’s reasoning was wiped out as her eyes became expressionless and without any feelings. She then turned around and saw Nene who was still busy preparing a deadly move with her eyes tightly closed.
Nene was completely oblivious to what was happening right now. She trusted her friend so much that she could protect her at all cost. But never in her wildest imagination that her friend would fail to do so and would be the one who would deliver her doom.
Anna walked slowly towards Nene as her hand was turning into a wooden spike. As she reached her distance towards the other party, she immediately pierced her hand towards the other party’s stomach as it went past through her back!
Kwaaak!
Nene spurted a mouthful of blood and was spurted towards the face of Anna. She slowly opened her eyes and saw her dear friend trying to kill her. But seeing the other party who was now not in herself any longer, Nene could only smile bitterly as she muttered, “So we got defeated huh…”
Just after she said those words, she slowly closed her eyes as she finally breathed her last.
She was then thrown down by Anna as tears were coming out from the edge of Anna’s expressionless eyes. But despite all of it, she was still helpless to fight against the control of the other party. She then raised her hand that turned into a wooden spike and pierced it as well to her throat. So then, she finally breathed her last as well.
After which, both of their body turned into ashes and were swept away by the wind.
Pfft!
“Hahaha she really killed her friend and herself, humans really are stupid!” Karen who was watching what was going on laughed with her face full of mockery. She then turned her gaze towards Lelith as she commended “Your ability really is so good.”
“But I can only control them for a short time, unlike your ability that can control anyone for as long as you want.” Lelith responded as she shook her head slowly.
Afterward, the Wooden Golem that was struggling to break free from the roots halted its movements as it fell on the ground and became a pile of ashes swept away by the wind.
“You see that, now that I can’t control the Golem anymore and its owner died as well, it immediately turned into a useless piece of trash.” Seeing what had happened to the Wooden Golem, Lelith could only feel dejected with her ability. She was thinking that it really was much better if she could just control anyone for as long as she wanted as well just like this Karen in front of her.
