X-Rank Hunter - Chapter 60: I Will Become Stronger
“What?! Are you sure about that?!” Sheiyn’s mood immediately shifted from worry to joy. She immediately came closer to Bantay with the hope to see her wolf.
But of course, the worries in her heart didn’t go away completely. As long as she didn’t see the wolf with her own eyes, these worries would never go away.
Seeing the little girl in front of him, Bantay could only sigh. He shook his head slowly as he muttered to Sheiyn, “The wolf is definitely outside but I’m sorry, it’s already one of my Master’s tamed beast. You can’t take it back anymore.”
Bantay’s words were as if water pouring itself into a fire. Sheiyn’s mood had immediately sunken and became lifeless. As if the world had just befallen her. She felt light-headed as she made a step back to regain her balance somehow.
“No way right?” Sheiyn couldn’t believe it at all. Even if it was the truth, she would rather choose to believe the lies. No matter what, it was still their family treasure! If it was been taken away by others, wouldn’t it mean that they just lost their family treasure because of her?
When Jim heard what Bantay had just said, Jim was really surprised. All he knew was that the wolf was already dead, how come did this wolf become his tamed beast all of a sudden?
So to ascertain his doubts Jim asked Bantay, “What do you mean by that?”
Bantay shifted his gaze to his Master, as he replied helplessly, “The wolf is already a dried corpse even before when we fought you earlier, so I think you also have absorbed its blood and be killed by you. But the blue light revived it and when it got revived, it has become your tamed beast just like all the other Tree-Merger Apes you killed before.”
Bantay knew that his Master was hiding the truth of how did he really saved this little girl in front of him and only put all the credits to the blue light. But since it had already become like this, there was no way of avoiding it.
Of course, he also didn’t know what exactly had happened. All he saw was that the wolf had already turned into a dried corpse and he could only put his assumptions that it was been killed by his Master. But it was really more likely to say that his master was the one who killed the wolf just by thinking about his encounter with him.
“The wolf is revived? And what Tree-Merger Apes? Do you mean the ape-type beasts I fought before?” Jim was astonished. He couldn’t believe that the apes he fought before were the so-called Tree-Merger Apes! But seeing Bantay nodding slowly, it appeared that the ape-type beast he fought before were really the Tree-Merger Apes.
But what made him even more astonished was that, “And they all became my tamed beast?”
Jim didn’t even know that. Well, he already had passed out when the apes and the wolf got revived so it was only natural for him to not know something like that.
It appeared that in a short moment, he already had several strong tamed beasts on his side. Just by thinking about it could make Jim feel excited.
And of course, he didn’t show his excitement on his face, especially in front of Sheiyn. She might think that he was happy taking away her wolf and the other party might become angrier at him.
Meanwhile, Charley from the seat could only watch them silently. She could still tell that her son was lying a while ago when she interrogated him. But never she thought that her son was actually the one who killed the wolf that was chasing after Sheiyn and the many ape-type beasts that appeared to be the Tree-Merger Apes.
When Charley saw the wolf from before, she really was surprised at that time. She could immediately tell that that wolf was similar to her husband’s. It was an Evolving White Wolf! A beast that could become stronger according to the capability of its Master!
That time, Charley didn’t notice the insignificant Tree-Merger Apes gathering around for she didn’t put any attention to any of them. What she only cared about was the existence of the Evolving White Wolf!
But Charley suppressed her feelings since that time, she saw her son held hostage by a beast. That was just her thought though.
In the passing time, Charley learned about her son’s current condition so she really had forgotten about the existence of that wolf since then.
But now that they were talking about it, her interest was immediately piqued as she just also recalled about it. But never she thought that this wolf was now actually her son’s tamed beast.
Just by learning about it could make Charley become bewildered of whether she should be happy for Jim or lament for Sheiyn. This wolf was still Sheiyn’s after all. She had a good impression of this girl and she really liked the other party. It was kind of saddening when her son took away something very important from her.
“Then why not you break the contact!” As everyone fell silent for a moment, everyone heard Sheiyn speaking again. She really didn’t want to give up the wolf.
As for whether Jim saved her or not, Sheiyn really didn’t care now. All she cared about right now was how to take back the wolf.
“Break the contract?” Bantay didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Even me myself, an S-rank beast was helpless against it, so how can a mere C-rank wolf breaks the contract?”
Indeed, Bantay could tell how powerful the contract really was. Even if his master willed to break the contract, it was already next to impossible. After all, it was something that one of the Four Greatest Hunters did.
“Even Master won’t be able to break it even if he likes it.” Bantay immediately followed and told the truth.
“This…” Sheiyn was really depressed this time. What should she do now? She even felt that hope had already faded away.
She could still tell that this beast was saying those words not because he wanted the wolf for his Master but it was what the other party really meant.
Sigh…
Charley from the side couldn’t take it anymore. She stood up from her seat and walked closer to Sheiyn. She then patted the other party’s head softly as she muttered, “Don’t blame yourself for this.”
Charley could tell that Sheiyn was so depressed because she lost their family treasure and the blame was definitely be put onto her. That really was depressing.
Charley could only console this kid as she continued, “Don’t worry, I will talk to your father ‘nicely’ and he won’t definitely blame you.”
“But…” Sheiyn still felt worried. Though she already had the words of her idol, uneasiness just couldn’t go away.
Sheiyn really didn’t care that much about the wolf. But because the blame would be put onto her, she felt that this was something she needed to fix. After all, she didn’t want her father to become angry at her because of that.
“Believe me…” Charley smiled at Sheiyn. She could still tell that Sheiyn was still worrying.
“Ok.” Seeing the resoluteness on her idol’s eyes, Sheiyn could only agree as she smiled as well.
“Then let’s go back and eat again?” Charley invited.
“Alright…” Sheiyn still accepted her goodwill. This may be her only chance to interact with her idol after all.
So the two went back to the dining table as Jim was completely ignored yet again. As if nothing really happened.
Charley then snapped her finger and the dishes left by Jim had disappeared. After which, Charley waved her hands and another set of foods had appeared on the table. These were not her illusions but instead, it was the food stored in the space inside her body.
Bantay could only force his smile as he shook his head slowly.
Seeing the two girls chatting with each other again, Jim really was speechless as he could only go back to his room. It appeared that whether he was there or not, it didn’t change a thing at all.
Bantay then went back to the sofa seeing his master leaving away. He really didn’t know what to do. His master just left him there without saying anything.
Jim, on the other hand, sighed deeply as he entered his room. He could tell that both of them would probably continue to talk with each other for more than an hour.
Girl’s mouth really was scary!
As he entered his room, the first thing he did was of course go to his bed to sit. The room was not that big so there was not a lot of stuff that could be found. Bed, table, cabinet, etc. only the needs were in there.
Jim didn’t hate this though. He didn’t even care what would his room look like. Big or small, it didn’t matter that much. He barely stayed in his room and always wanting to venture the woods. If it was just possible, Jim really wished that he didn’t have a room because he only ended up being locked up here from time to time. Just like what happened to him earlier on.
As Jim sat on in his bed, he was thinking about a lot of stuff. The huge war from before was just a part of the matters he needed to think about. Learning more about his ability and getting stronger with that was exciting for him but what bothered his mind the most was the thing mentioned by his mom.
What was that thing that made his mom became uneasy? What was the price for his power? What did his mom know that he knew nothing about?
Jim pondered deep inside his heart but didn’t wish for the time to immediately pass. Tomorrow midnight was the time that he would learn all of it. Though he felt a little excited, he felt more worried.
Free lunch? Jim really wished that his newly found ability was a sort of thing but it seemed like it was not the case. His ability to rule over life was simply so great and he could tell that the price for it was great as well.
So then, he raised his hand again in front of his chest and stared at his palm. Whenever he thought about his ability, this was the thing he always did almost instinctively.
Right! Should I send out the Blood Minions to the woods now?
Jim recalled that his Blood Minions was still inside his body doing nothing at all. It was a waste of time if these Blood Minions kept idling around.
With that in mind, Jim stood up from his bed and spread apart both of his arms. As he closed his eyes, he tried to concentrate on summoning all of his Blood Minions in his body.
After which, several beads of blood came out from his body. The beads of blood didn’t stay just like that, it slowly morphed itself into a red sparrow of which it was their supposedly true form.
This time, Jim didn’t feel any pricking pain to where did the beads of blood had come out. It came out of his body so easily that the concentration he did had almost become useless.
Jim realized that summoning the already created Blood Minions was much easier than actually creating a new one.
The Blood Minions flew all over his room. Some of them were even perching everywhere else and pecking anything inside as if a curious child. Jim didn’t care much about what they do though.
But since he was planning to make them do their job, Jim commanded all of them to go to the nearby forest or to the furthest they could to gather some useful information such as the movements of the beasts or a sudden appearance of a dungeon.
The Blood Minions then hastily followed their creator as they exited the room through the window. Though it was night, it didn’t hinder them to obey their Master.
Their intelligence was just similar to that of a loyal dog, only following their Master without question.
Meanwhile, Charley noticed that something was happening in Jim’s room so she took a peek at it for a moment using her ability. But what she saw made her astonished. Lots of red sparrows were flying inside her son’s room and were going outside through the window. She was astonished by the fact, that even she herself almost failed to detect their presence.
Charley already knew that her son had an incredible power inherited from one of the Four Greatest Hunters. But she never thought that her son would already use it to such an extent.
Sweat appeared on her forehead as she unconsciously swallowed a mouthful of saliva. But later she smiled and felt at ease with whatever may happen in the future. Her son was growing stronger. She finally found comfort and she didn’t need to worry that much about her son in the near future.
Seeing her like that, Sheiyn was a little confused as she asked, “What happen Tita?”
Charley finally came back to reality as she stared at Sheiyn and replied with a chuckle, “Nothing, I just remembered something.”
On the other hand, seeing that all of his Blood Minions had finally left his room, Jim heaved a sigh of relief. He walked towards the window as he gazed at the full moon.
“I will definitely become stronger!”
After seeing the huge war and many incredibly strong entities, Jim felt motivated and he really was itching to become even more stronger.
