X-Rank Hunter - Chapter 64: Desire For Revenge
Meanwhile…
“We lost?”
Somewhere far away, in a completely different realm, a massive and grand castle was placed in a giant island floating in the dark but starry sky. Many smaller floating islands were could be found as well with different kinds of structures and trees placed on them. They were all surrounding the massive castle.
Inside the massive castle where the king’s throne was, a certain woman was seated on it. Her voluptuous body was revealed beyond her seductive dress. The purplish color of her skin from before was now rosy in color similar to a human, revealing her heaven-defying beauty. She gazed down from her throne and countless soldiers were kneeling on the ground with one of their knees.
She smiled, but those who were kneeling trembled.
“Vessel of the Angelic Sword huh…” Who could it be other than Vanessa? Or perhaps, we should call her Delilah! “I never thought that that bastard has finally found a good and suitable vessel.”
Delilah fought Jason. But she was defeated so miserably to the point that she didn’t even have a chance to leave some scratch towards the other party.
It was the fact that she only fought with her clone made by the Original Sin’s power but it shouldn’t have gone too far to the point that she was as if being played. After all, she was still one of the 666 Knights of Hell. It was kind of humiliating if others find out that something like that happened to her.
Delilah wanted revenge. She wanted to go back to the human world with her true form to reclaim her lost dignity. But to go there just to fight a vessel? Was it really worth it? If she really wanted to regain her dignity, she should at least fight the Angelic Sword himself.
But the Angels were prohibited to enter the human world after they helped humans to imprison the countless beasts and demons back then in the Forsaken Age, so how should he fight with that Angelic Sword?
The Nether Realm and Celestial Realm were completely far apart and had no connection with each other or any passageway to reach each other except the human world, Encantadia.
Delilah guessed that the Angelic Sword’s current vessel could only use 50 percent of his power at most as for now. If however, she went to the human world personally just to kill this vessel who could only borrow 50 percent of Angelic Sword’s power, wouldn’t it a waste of her time?
Besides, the price of entering the human world was pretty heavy, if she entered there just for petty revenge, the other members of Knights of Hell would surely make a fuss. Or perhaps, even the Demon Kings themselves wouldn’t agree to it.
They were preparing for an all-out war after all!
So as helpless as she was, Delilah could only force her smile to suppress her anger and urge for revenge. She should just wait for the right time to come, after all, she could still avenge herself when that time came.
****
However, it was not only Delilah who was angered and wanted revenge. Somewhere far and desolate, of where no living beings could be found and only an evil aura, was lingering from all over, Jannes and Jambres were fighting each other!
It wasn’t because they had enmity against each other but it was more likely to say that they were venting their anger. Or perhaps, they were training themselves.
When their punch collided against each other, the shockwaves it produced were enough to shatter a mountain. A couple of massive rocks were jumping here and there. If Sam was there, he would surely stand no chance of fighting back against any of them and would surely die in a single breath.
Jannes and Jambres were defeated as well by the human named Sam. Though they managed to put up a fight, the fact that they were still defeated by a human didn’t change a bit. And they hated this fact. Though it was only their clone, it was still the 10% of their full strength, a vessel who only borrowed power from others and was able to defeat them was simply unacceptable for them.
But they knew as well that they were not allowed to go back to the human world so they could only vent their anger by fighting each other. It was much better if they could just fight the other Knights of Hell but they were too annoying that no one even bothered from their provocation.
The lower rank Pureblooded Demons wouldn’t be able to last a second from them so venting their anger to them wasn’t enough at all. In the end, they could only fight each other to appease their anger for at least somehow.
No one stopped them as well. After all, the place they were fighting was an abandoned land. Even if they cause so much destruction, it was all fine since nothing in there had any value.
“Angelic Tiger! If we meet again we will definitely slaughter you!” The two could only shout this in their hearts as they continued their fight.
****
On the other side somewhere far away as well, a young man was seated on the very edge of a towering cliff. The fog had almost covered the area but a faint scene from below was still could be seen. It was an endless forest!
From the looks of it, the young man was just about four to five feet in height. His white and short hair was fluttering with the wind. Both of his hands were on the ground trying to support his body from lying down. He was gazing up above as if waiting for the fog to dissipate and see the stars already.
“Angelic Illusion… you’ve chosen a strong vessel this time…” The man spoke in a low voice as he finally lied down on the ground making his own two hands as his pillow.
Who else could it be other than the one who fought against Charley in the dungeon? Though no one saw their fight from before except each other and the unlucky demons and beasts who died inside the dungeon, it could be said that their fight was as tough as the fight of Sam against Jannes and Jambres. Or maybe, it was as one-sided battle as Jason against Delilah.
“Should I inform my vessel in the human world to fight her to see who is stronger?” The man continued to mutter. It appeared that even the Knights of Hell had also a vessel hiding in the human world. “But it will be boring… Angelic Illusion’s vessel is still a child after all.
“Maybe I’ll wait for her to grow a little more…” The young man could only sigh in regrets.
“!”
“Sir Demon Knight, thank you for reviving us!”
In the midst of the young man’s contemplation, a bunch of Demons arrived from behind the young man as the other party immediately kneeled on the ground upon arrival.
The young man didn’t bother standing up or look back as he continued looking above thinking about something else.
“Yeah.” The young man could only mutter those words half-heartedly as he continued, “You all can go now.”
He didn’t want to be bothered by anyone so he hastily shooed them away.
The ones who were kneeling on the ground immediately stood up and left right away without saying any more words.
Who else could they be other than the Demon Captains who were killed in the war a while ago?
Even Lak, Janus, and Rak (Semi-Demon 1,2, and 3) were luckily been revived even though they already died twice in a single day. It appeared that their Sir Demon Knight who revived them put a little more effort into doing so.
They all were grateful as one thought was floating in their mind, “I will definitely become stronger!”
They only put one human in their eyes as a worthy enemy and that was, Jino! They swore that one day, they would surely have their revenge and slaughter this human.
All of them, including the three Knights of Hell, had forgotten that they failed their mission to gather some information about the Original Sin and only thought of having revenge.
Not until they heard a bell signifying that they were being called. Only then they recalled about the mission. The Demon Captains were scared out of their wits. They immediately forgot about having petty revenge and worried about what they should report to the higher-ups about the mission instead.
Though the Knights Of Hell were responsible for leading the team and giving out reports, the uneasiness in their hearts couldn’t just go away. They were just insignificant Demon Captains, if the higher-ups learned that they failed the mission, who knows if they would be killed in an instant without having a chance to explain themselves.
They weren’t like the Knights of Hell who could still sit idly and relax. After all, they were on a completely different level. Compared to them who had little value, the Knights of Hell were a huge asset for the Demon’s overall prowess.
When the Knights of Hell heard the ringing bell, they also came to their right mind and had forgotten about revenge. The young man who was lying on the ground stood up unhurriedly as he scratched his head with a slight frown on his face, filled with uncertainties, “The mission… did we perhaps… failed?
The same went for Delilah, she just recalled that they just failed the mission. She could only smile bitterly as she thought for an excuse.
But Jannes and Jambres didn’t care that much. They only wanted a fight that was why they forced themselves to come to the mission. They stopped their fight and prepare to answer the summon. It appeared that even them, couldn’t ignore something like this.
