X-Rank Hunter - Chapter 69: Catching The Wolf
Around this time, the Blood Minion had just caught sight of the battle that was just unfolding. Right after seeing it, it immediately informed its creator and find a safe and good spot for its master to watch.
The battle then continued as the young boy immediately commanded to the other three Spirits, “Sylph and Gnome catch that wolf! Nymph, heal Salamander!”
The young boy knew full well the significance of this wolf, if he failed to catch that beast and make it as his tamed beast, it would really be a huge pity!
After all, this wolf was extremely hard to come by. It could be said that encountering one of them was already considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If even the already tamed Evolving White Wolf was already hard to come by, how much more if it were not? If not for his father taming such a beast, how else could he have a chance to encounter something like that?
The young boy really felt lucky as he did his all just to catch this wolf. He just permitted all of his summoned Spirits to use his World Energy as freely as they like only for this sole reason.
The three Spirits happily obeyed their master’s order and did their own task. The duo who were tasked with chasing after the wolf had immediately rushed towards it as if a hungry mantis preying for cicada.
On the other hand, with a wave of her hand, Nymph used a skill to heal Salamander. Some kind of water covered the body of Salamander. Within the next few moments, he opened his eyes as it appeared that he was immediately healed.
Nymph was, of course, a water Spirit. She was in a form of a tiny girl with some kind of garments resembling water, covering her private parts. She was, of course, looked cute and innocent in her one-foot figure. As if she still never try to hurt someone in her entire life in this world.
After being healed, Salamander roared and immediately flew away to rush towards the wolf as well. He was completely angered this time and he didn’t wait for his master to order him. All he wanted now was revenge.
He was just bitten so badly, how could he not be angered with that? A dog biting a dragon? This was the most presumptuous act that Salamander had ever encountered in his life.
Seeing his Salamander rushing towards the wolf made the young boy feel helpless. His Salamander really was hot-headed. He just prayed that this Spirit of his wouldn’t go so careless and be beaten up again.
On the other hand, seeing that the Spirits of the young boy were planning to gang up on their comrade, the Tree-Merger Apes didn’t just stand so stupidly from the side. More than half of them rushed towards the wolf to help the other party while the others rushed towards the kid.
They had the advantage of numbers so what was there to be afraid of? Besides, they were all B-rank beasts! This kid was obviously only a C-rank, even one of them was more than enough to handle him!
Seeing the many Tree-Merger Apes coming in his direction as if prisoners that escaped from their cell, the young boy was alarmed. He swept his gaze to the incoming beasts and found that there were more than 10 of them.
“Nymph!” The young boy immediately sought his Spirit’s presence. Nymph immediately came over as well. She could tell the seriousness of the situation.
Without waiting for the order, the Nymph then surrounded themselves with a spherical water barrier, keeping the Tree-Merger Apes at bay. The apes tried to barge in but the water was rotating rapidly making them be thrown away to the side.
The young boy planned to be on the defensive for now and waited for his other Spirits to complete their task before escaping. If he fought these Tree-Merger Apes, he could tell that his World Energy would most likely be depleted before he could even defeat them.
They were all B-ranks after all. Besides they seemed pretty strange as the boy felt an abnormal life force coming from all of them. He could tell that even with his current strength if he didn’t resort to using a special move, he would have a hard time killing even one of them.
So escape after getting the wolf was the best plan he could think of for now.
Meanwhile, his other three Spirits had just started their chase as well. But who would have thought that this wolf would be strong enough to hold its ground against the three of them.
What even worse was that the other Three-Merger Apes had just come over as well to help the wolf and protect it. But the apes could tell as well that this wolf didn’t need too much help from them. Nevertheless, the apes still rushed towards the three Sprits and caused an all-out brawl.
Neither any of them tried to merge with the tree for they all didn’t feel a need to. It was a dog fight! Everyone attacked out of their beast instinct as they all tried to chase away these three Spirits.
But the Spirits were all small. The apes didn’t even have a chance to graze their finger to any of the other party’s hair. They were all simply nimble.
And it got more difficult for the apes to touch them when the Spirits stopped playing around.
Salamander flew higher and higher to the extent that even the apes couldn’t reach him with their jumps. Sylph became faster that following her with just their eyes was so much difficult for the apes. Gnome dug the ground and went in. The hole was pretty small making the apes incapable of following him.
The Tree-Merger Apes were in a frenzy as they couldn’t think of a way to catch the three Spirits.
Around this time, Jim had just arrived. He was transported to a certain towering tree of which he could see the good fight from up there. Jim was enjoying the show. If there was popcorn, he would definitely try to have some to eat while watching.
He didn’t interfere in the battle for he was trying to see how did the ones fighting his tamed beasts would do.
He could only smile while watching as he muttered, “Younger brother, you became much stronger again!”
Who else could the other party be other than his younger brother, Jasper Jabat!
“!”
Hmmm…
However, he was still enjoying the show when he found that something was really strange. He gazed somewhere afar and narrowed his eyes but couldn’t get into it.
Curious, Jim had then created another Blood Minion in a heartbeat as he sent it to that certain direction he was gazing into right away. It was a sparrow again and it flew away hastily trying its best to obey the first order of its creator.
The place it was sent into was just another towering tree. Nothing really was strange to it since there was a lot of this kind in this forest. But Jim still felt that something was amiss.
As he sent his Blood Minions to that place, he made a good position on the branch of the tree to make sure that he would not fall. He then closed his eyes and shifted his consciousness to his Blood Minion that he just sent.
Jim obviously saw what was his Blood Minion was seeing. As he was getting nearer and nearer to that certain tree, Jim couldn’t help but focus all his attention on his surroundings. He couldn’t even be bothered by the brawl that was happening below.
When he finally reached the place, Jim immediately found out what was going on. He couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief. He worried over nothing. Because it appeared that the thing he was suspicious with was just only a person who was following his younger brother from the shadows to ensure his younger brother’s safety.
This person was hiding himself very meticulously with his illusions. But of course, Jim still saw through it. After all, the other party’s illusion was couldn’t be compared to his mom.
Jim recognized this person. How could he not recognized this if the other party was actually a close relative of them?
The other party was his mother’s younger brother and Jim’s Tito, Chad Mausig (Ma-u-sig).
In her youth, Charley was obviously had the same surname as him, she was Charley Mausig. But now that she was married, her surname was naturally changed to Jabat.
Mausig Family was one of the top five strongest families in the Kingdom. They may not be the strongest but they were not too far from it.
They specialized in using illusions and their bloodline made their illusions became much more effective. His Tito Chad was an S-rank Hunter and his illusions were among the top of the kingdom.
It was just that, compared to his Ate /A-te/ [1], Charley Jabat, he only appeared decent. He was even nowhere near the real strength of his Ate.
Charley asked him to guard his son from the shadows or in front of anyone. Because they had a good relationship, Chad didn’t refuse. Besides, he took a liking to this kid that even if his Ate didn’t ask him, he would offer help himself.
Right now, Chad was watching the situation warily. He could see that his nephew was having a tough fight. But of course, his life was far from danger so Chad only watched from afar.
It was just that, after seeing the Evolving White Wolf, Chad became uneasy and restless. He could tell as well that his nephew knew the significance of it and was trying to tame the wolf.
Chad wanted to help, but if he barged in now, he was afraid that his nephew might become angry at him for he knew how prideful his nephew was.
Chad was helpless. But there was nothing else he could do. He was forced to only watch from afar and wait for the outcome of the battle.
