X-Rank Hunter - Chapter 81: Gorilla King
At first, Jim was really curious about what was going on now with his younger brother and his wolf. After all, it was already some time since he left. He really wondered if his younger brother managed to catch up to his wolf.
Well, Jim wasn’t worrying that much though. His younger brother wouldn’t be able to tame his wolf after all. And even if the other party killed his wolf, the wolf would only go back to his body so what was there to worry about?
He already gave up thinking of hiding the truth of the wolf being his tamed beast since it would be exposed sooner or later anyway. He should just at least forget the existence of his Tree-Merger Apes and not mention any of it to his younger brother to at least minimize his incoming shock later on.
The only thing Jim wished as for now was for his Bantay to stay hidden. He really hoped that this Bantay and his younger brother would not meet each other ever in any way. Yes, ever!
But expectation betrayed reality when he finally exchanged position with his Blood Minions. He was currently on the top of a certain towering tree as he was gazing down below.
But what he saw made him almost jump up in fright. If he was already old and had heart disease, he probably had died already of a heart attack.
Down there, he saw a frightening battle. And of course, he recognized both of them. What even more was that the battle was almost comparable to the battle of demons against humans he just watched yesterday.
Jim didn’t know what to do. The other party was his uncle Chad while the other one was his tamed beast, Bantay. To which side would he go?
Jim saw their swift movements that almost hurt his eyes just by trying to chase them with his gaze. Trees and piles of rocks were jumping here and there from the shockwaves and strong force that the fist of both of them whenever it collided against each other.
Jim then swept his gaze around to look for his wolf and younger brother when he found both of them lying on the ground. They were pretty far apart though.
Right now, Jim’s Evolving White Wolf was injured but from the looks of it, his wolf was recovering. It was just pretty slow though. Jim didn’t put so much concern regarding his wolf since even if his wolf died, he knew that it would just return to his body.
He wasn’t like his cold-looking younger brother that would pity his own Spirits when he saw them suffering even after knowing that they would not actually die.
Jim on the other hand, despised all the beasts for a long time. Not even one of them wanted to be his tamed beast so his hatred towards them only became stronger. But now that he had a tamed beast, his hatred for them was just calming down but it didn’t mean that it was completely gone already.
Now that he had the strength, he was even thinking to slaughter all the beasts he could see in the most merciless way just to appease his hatred. If he would like a beast, it was probably only limited to his own.
After thinking about the situation of his wolf for some time, he shifted his gaze towards his younger brother who was currently leaning against the tree. It appeared that he was pretty exhausted as he was watching the fight of his Tito and the beast.
Nevertheless, no worry could be found in his eyes. Though he could see that the fight was pretty much equal, he knew full well that the specialty of his Tito was not in physical combat but rather, the use of illusion! And his Tito was still not using such ability!
Jim also knew about this. He could see the almost equal fight between his Tito and his tamed beast. But he knew as well the strength of his. His Life Force was just simply too abundant that the longer the fight went on, the more advantageous his tamed beast would be.
Jim looked at their reactions but it appeared that they were pretty much enjoying what they were doing. The grin on their face just couldn’t be hidden anymore as the battle went on more excitingly.
Should I stop them? Jim was just about to stop them when he saw both party’s halting their movements. And it seemed like they were talking with each other!
Jim focused his hearing to lengthen his hearing range as he closed his eyes trying to hear what they were saying…
“You’re not bad. Just when did the ‘Dream Forest’ have a strong beast like you?” Chad was the one who first spoke. He was naturally talking about the mountain range they were in.
In the past, all he knew about this mountain range was only three A-rank beasts were roaming around. Who would have thought that there was now an S-rank beast lurking here. Though the other party could morph into a human form of which only an SS-rank level could possibly do, Chad could still tell that this beast before him was still in the S-rank level.
Or at least that was what his offense was. As for his Life Energy, well, Chad could feel the incredible amount of Life Energy coming from the other party that even he himself felt like even if he used his full strength with his strongest move, he was still unconfident of claiming the other party’s life.
Just how and when did such a beast appear so suddenly here? Chad could only narrow his eyes against the other party trying to peer through him.
“It’s all thanks to my master,” Bantay replied with a proud smile surfacing on his lips.
“Oh? You have a master?” Chad was a little shocked. After which, he realized something as he added, “Then…”
Bantay of course knew what the other party was going to say so without waiting for his words to finish, Bantay interjected with a cold voice, “You guessed it right, that wolf is my master’s and our brothers. Harming one of my master’s tamed beasts simply means challenging his strength.”
Besides Jasper, Chad who arrived a little late, of course, didn’t know that the wolf had already a master. Hearing that the wolf already had a master, of which its master was the same as the beast he was currently facing, Chad really was surprised. It really was a pity as well that the wolf had already become a tamed beast.
But thinking about it now, how could they bump into an Evolving White Wolf so easily? The only way was, of course, the Evolving White Wolf already had a master.
So Chad could only think just who was that powerful person who could tame and find such a beast. Was the village had a newcomer? He could only guess for the possibility.
“Who is your master then?” Chad asked. He should at least learn who was that person to avoid such a meaningless fight in case that he knew the other party. He could tell that if this went on, it would only harm both sides. A lose-lose battle. Who would want an outcome like that?!
“Hmph! Figure it out yourself! Bantay harrumphed coldly.
After which, his form was gradually changing. Furs were sprouting all over his body. And his body was growing bigger and bigger. It was obvious to say that Bantay was transforming to his original appearance, the gorilla!
Roar!!!
Not long after he finished transforming into a beast form, Bantay had immediately given the other party a ferocious roar. His fang was lengthening and from the looks of it, he was ready to eat the other party at any moment.
Chad, on the other hand, widened his eyes in extreme shock. He recognized this beast. If he guessed it correctly, this beast before him was one of the three strongest beasts in the Dream Forest, the Gorilla King! There was no way that he would be wrong!
He knew as well that this beast was the strongest in the past and was at an S-rank level. But five years ago, his strength had suddenly gone down to that of an A-rank level for who knows what was the reason.
But now he was seeing the other party actually had the strength of an S-rank with an incredible amount of Life Force. Did the other party just regain his power from back then? Chad could only guess that that was really the case.
Just who was that master of this beast who was able to help him regain his former strength? Chad couldn’t think of any other person who had the ability to do so. Those who came in his mind were impossible to come here. Guild master Don Cruz hated this place so he would surely not go here willingly. Guild master Laude Jabat was busy and didn’t have time to play here. Joe Jabat was simply far away and there was no sign of him coming back. Except to these three, there was no other else Chad could think who else would it be.
But no matter what was the case, and whoever was that person, there was something he should worry about for himself. He tried to talk about it but it seemed like only their fist would do the talking.
“Come!” Chad said with his black pupils slowly turning red with four black dots in the middle.
