- Chapter 20 Be Good Neighbors
“Why should I be with her? I want my own room! And, what if mom’s back? Where will she sleep?” Feena protested in anger.
“You’re a big girl, you can’t sleep with your brother anymore. That’s why I suggest you with Roona. Ar will be with Rooga. Ibil will place the room on the first floor, she’s pregnant. The other room in the first floor temporarily for Ibil’s guards. When your mother’s back…, we’ll talk about it when the time comes.” I spoke in one breath.
“Mommy, can I sleep with you?” asked Rooga.
“You can, for now. But, when you get to school, you can’t. Okay?”
“Hmmm… okay,” he answered reluctantly.
“Yes! I get my room for myself!” (Ar)
“Not fair!” (Feena)
“What? Do you expect me to sleep with Roona? Where’s your brain, you stupid?” Ar picked magic bag from my hands. He choosed the left room, starting to arrange his room.
I let A and B made 5 sets bunk beds, 1 ordinary couple bed, and 1 simple baby crib.
3 sets bunk beds were for three rooms on second floor. Couple bed and baby crib were for the main bedroom. The remaining 2 sets bunk beds were for the second bedroom, for the guards.
“Wow, it’s cool! But… where’s the mattress?” (Ar)
Ugh!
“Just use the old mattress. After we got some money, I’ll buy the new ones.” I promised.
“Okay,” Ar shrugged, didn’t really care.
The bunk beds for children have 6 drawers. 4 small ones double function as staircases. And there were two big drawers underneath the bottom bunk.
They could add the details like table or something. But it’s for later.
“Wow! I want on the top!” Rooga claimed his place.
Ar frowned a little. “It’s okay… but, you’re not a bedwetter, are you?”
“Of course not!” Rooga yelled indignantly.
“Why should I share place with a human?” Feena muttered by herself.
I heard it, so of course I couldn’t not say anything. “Feena…”
“In case you forgot, Arfeena Firestone, half of you is human,” Roona said sarcastically.
Oh, so tired…!
“Kids, listen to me!” I cut before they started fighting. “I wish you siblings be close to each other, but if you don’t, it’s okay. If you can’t treat each other like normal siblings, then be friends. If you can’t be friends, then be good neighbors. If there’s no peace in this house, the ones who feel uncomfortable are you yourselves.”
They didn’t say no nor yes. But, it was an improvement, they were not rejecting right away.
“From now on, there is no human, no mermaid, no elf, and no demon. You’re all a Firestone, that’s it.” I looked at Feena in a warning mode.
I let them be and went downstairs. There were so much in my hands. I didn’t have energy for brats time.
Ibil was in the terrace, making some baby clothes.
I didn’t really sure. Maybe because her young appearance, I didn’t have good feeling toward Zaq Firestone. Just what was it that charmed this princess to fall for a poor jerk?
“You’re more like human than human themselves. Cooking, cleaning, sewing, and you’re also good with kids.” I sat beside her. “Hmm, maybe ‘human’ is not the right word. I think… you’re a good woman. You can be wife, mother, sister… I just can’t relate you to ‘demon’ nor ‘princess’ things.”
Ibil chuckled, “I live too long for ‘princess’ things. And… well, because I spent my childhood with humans. Maybe because I was more human than a demon, that’s why my father despised me.”
She talked like it was somebody’s business.
