- Chapter 31 Meeting The Merchant King
I slept like a log, but somehow I couldn’t get my spirit up. My mind was in haze. Maybe because I cried in my sleep, my eyes were heavy.
“I didn’t do anything, but I’m tired. Maybe I am sick?” I touched my forehead, then my neck. I wasn’t sure how much normal temperature of an elf should be.
“It’s okay. You’ll get better in no time.” C talked without looking at me.
“I’m hungry.” I drooled smelling something nice in the air.
The place we’re going was different from the town Ar and I passed by on the way home. This place was much livelier, and bigger. Well, I didn’t know about how big the territory. I said bigger, because I could see the people here living in better condition.
“This is Port City, Fgria. No bigger than royal capital, but it’s not less lively.” (C)
“Port? Then…” I just realized, the air felt weird, a bit salty.
I smiled. I had never gone to beach or sea in twenty years of my life. Well, it’s exaggerated. There were pictures on an old photo album, a family picnic on a beautiful beach. But, that’s when I was a toddler. I didn’t remember, so it didn’t count.
“C… can we stop at the beach later? This is my first time, so I want to take some pictures,” I couldn’t hide my excitement.
“You just forgot. Dandeli island was known with its beautiful beach. How can this be your first? Well, we’ll take your pictures later.” C laughed a little.
Right, Sally was alumnus of Dandeli. Remembering this made me wondering, when, where, and how did Sally and her husband meet? There was no Zaq in the photo album Rooga showed me the other day. Apparently the man was the one who took the pics. Looking at how beautiful the wives… the husband should at least on par with them. It couldn’t be these hot babes willing to marry a wrinkled old man, right?
Brrr… just imagining it sent me goosebumps. Let’s not think about the useless hero!
“Where are we going? Let’s grab some seafood… Wait, how much the remaining money we have? We should sell the juices first.” I frowned remembering how thin my little purse.
Not only useless hero, that man is useless husband! Humph!
“Don’t worry… our lunch won’t be coming from your purse.” C laughed mysteriously.
“Then, that’s great.” I said satisfiedly.
C drove the carriage to a restaurant with wonderful views. On the background was great sea, on sides were bewitching beach.
“How did they build this?” I was dumbfounded seeing the exquisite building literally on top of the sea. There was a path going from shore up to the main building. It’s solid, must be an earth magic or something.
“Wonderful, right?” C smiled.
“This… screams gold. But, C, we can’t afford selling our products in big quantity.” I lamented.
“Na-uhh… don’t worry, I have a plan.” C said confidently.
I thought we would sell my juices in the restaurant, but nope.
C brought me to eat.
“Is Mr. Ernet here already? I am Silq,” C asked the waitress that welcoming us.
“Yes, Sir. Let me bring you to Mr. Ernet’s room.” (Waitress)
I wasn’t sure if this place looking modern or not. But I could say, it’s a unique design. Western feeling, but there were eastern touchs too. I had never been to expensive restaurant back in my world, so I couldn’t compare. But, if architect of this place were transmigrated to my world, he would definitely be famous.
“Who’s Mr. Ernet?” I whispered.
C smiled lightly, “The merchant king.”
