You Cultivate, I Farm - Chapter 118
“Before today’s meal, there’s something I must address with all of you.”
“Just yesterday, among all of you here, an exotic serpent got injured while vying for territory with other dragon beasts.”
“I understand this happens often, but from now on, I want you to remember one thing.”
“You must watch out for each other. If any companion is in danger, you must immediately lend a hand.”
“To rescue someone is to consistently save them. Only by uniting can we fend off external threats and safeguard ourselves. Clear?”
From atop a high platform, Lu Xuan spoke to dozens of orderly arranged dragons and pythons in the lake.
Below, the many dragons, pythons, and exotic serpents nodded in understanding.
“Good. After finishing the monster meat, I’ll leave you for a while. During this time, memorize your companions’ auras, calls, and remember the living areas of each companion.”
“If a companion calls for help, the other dragons and beasts nearby must rush to assist.”
Satisfied, Lu Xuan spoke. Under his firm but fair methods, these dragons and pythons had long been trained to heed his words unquestionably.
Two days passed, and Lu Xuan observed these dragons and pythons during their care.
He didn’t find any significant injuries similar to the previously injured fiery red serpent.
Perhaps due to the fights, some of these dragons and pythons seemed closer now.
From initial struggles over monster meat to lining up for it, and then playing around before meals, their relationships had grown intimate.
Seeing this, Lu Xuan felt greatly relieved.
After completing a round of care, just as he was about to leave, the fiery red serpent he had treated for its injuries suddenly let out a low growl, slowly swimming towards him on the lake’s surface.
Noticing Lu Xuan’s gaze, the fiery red serpent raised its upper body and pointed towards its back.
“You want me to sit on you?” Lu Xuan asked curiously.
The fiery red serpent quickly nodded, its eyes brimming with affection.
“Alright then, here I come.”
Lu Xuan leaped lightly and landed on the fiery red serpent’s back.
The fiery red serpent immediately let out an excited growl, carrying Lu Xuan towards the center of Thousand Dragon Lake.
Areas where dragons and serpents of third rank and above lived had separate restrictions, so safety wasn’t a concern.
Sitting comfortably on the fiery red serpent, Lu Xuan gazed at the shimmering lake’s surface, occasionally witnessing massive dragons emerge from the depths.
Gradually, more dragons and pythons gathered behind the fiery red serpent, all of them being those he had nurtured.
“Using dragons as a boat—now, that’s a true dragon boat!”
Beneath him was a serpent several yards long, followed by a group of dragonlings. Lu Xuan felt immensely proud.
“With such support, I can only repay you by conducting a thorough check.”
On the high platform, Lu Xuan tossed categorized monster meat down while addressing the numerous dragons and beasts below.
“During this time, have you felt a rapid increase in your strength?”
Several queued dragons and pythons in the lake nodded. Lu Xuan’s improved feeding methods not only kept them well-fed but also allowed them to consume suitable monster meat, thus accelerating their growth.
Especially for those weak in strength, like the giant pythons and exotic serpents, the difference was striking. Due to their previous limitations, they often ate leftover scraps and struggled to satisfy their hunger, let alone consume specific meats suited to them.
Satisfied, Lu Xuan nodded.
“To further enhance your growth, I’ve decided to conduct a full-body examination for you.”
“The primary focus is to check for any hidden injuries or illnesses and see if you’ve consumed any unhealthy food in the lake. We’ll even test if you’ve been contaminated with any impurities or evils.”
“To ensure a meticulous examination, a small amount of blood will be drawn from each of you.”
“But don’t worry; it’ll be just a bit. Given your dragon and serpent physique, you’ll recover in two to three days.”
With a gentle smile, Lu Xuan reassured them.
He had nearly exhausted the blood of the Azure Water Python he brought with him before and now turned his attention to the dragons and pythons in Thousand Dragon Lake.
Having entered a treasure trove, leaving empty-handed was unacceptable.
After training these dragons and pythons to obey him, he finally decided to make use of them.
With Lu Xuan’s nurturing and care, these dragons and pythons trusted him completely. They genuinely believed Lu Xuan was drawing blood for their benefit.
As Lu Xuan gently landed on the lake’s surface, he beckoned to the fiery red serpent.
“Come here; let me conduct a full-body check for you.”
Lu Xuan went through a mock inspection of different parts of the exotic serpent’s body, taking out a red-threaded needle.
“The first time might hurt a bit; bear with me.”
The fiery red serpent nodded, and Lu Xuan pierced it with the needle. After withdrawing it, a large wound oozed fiery red blood.
He collected the blood in a pre-prepared small white jade bottle, stopping once it was half-filled. He signaled for the fiery red serpent to heal the wound itself.
For these dragons and pythons accustomed to shedding blood in fights, this minor injury was insignificant.
“Why is your scale so hard? My needle can’t penetrate!”
Lu Xuan looked somewhat helpless at the double-headed dragon with its dense black scales in front of him.
When he tried to pierce the serpent’s body with the red-threaded needle, an awkward situation arose – it couldn’t break through the defense.
Upon hearing Lu Xuan’s words, the double-headed dragon wriggled a bit, rolling in the lake to present its less defended belly to Lu Xuan.
“Really, why have such high defenses?”
Lu Xuan grumbled and controlled the red-threaded needle with spiritual energy, piercing the double-headed dragon’s body and collecting another half-bottle of fresh blood.
“It’s your turn, Little Ice.”
Holding the red-threaded needle, he approached the Ice Chi Dragon.
The Ice Chi Dragon showed a mix of fear and appeasement in its eyes, willingly presenting its body to Lu Xuan.
The needle went in and out, and as Lu Xuan withdrew it, a cold-blooded liquid oozed out slowly.
He quickly collected it in the white jade bottle; this blood, coming from an Ice Chi Dragon, was visibly extraordinary.
“Alright, inspection’s done. I’ll take these blood samples back to my cave and conduct further tests using my unique methods. If anything is abnormal, I’ll come back to you.”
Returning to the high platform, Lu Xuan calmly addressed the many dragons and pythons below.
This round of blood sampling garnered enough blood from dozens of dragons and pythons to sustain the Dragonvine for some time.
“What good luck, being able to sample blood from these unique dragons and serpents. They’d better mature quickly; I owe it to the effort I’ve put in.”
Lu Xuan sighed.
Creatures like the Ice Chi Dragon and double-headed dragon might be at the second-rank stage due to their young and growing state, but their bloodlines surpassed that rank by far. Thus, their blood was far more precious than the Azure Water
Python’s, enough to satisfy the Dragonvine for days on end.
