You Cultivate, I Farm - Chapter 125
As the young wind falcon wobbled toward Lu Xuan, a sudden gust of wind from behind propelled the Cloud-Stepping Lynx toward it.
Sensing danger, the falcon immediately spread its wings, swiftly dodging and landing on Lu Xuan’s left shoulder.
“Chirp chirp~”
It chirped incessantly, seemingly accusing the Cloud-Stepping Lynx of its rough behavior.
“Roar~”
The lynx, unwilling to give up its spot, let out a low growl, then with force, leaped to Lu Xuan’s right shoulder.
Lu Xuan felt the slight weight on his shoulders and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Seems like my shoulders are bearing some unexpected weight…”
He sighed and gently placed both the young falcon and the lynx on the ground.
“When hatching, you behaved quite well, quietly guarding. But as soon as your little friend comes out, you reveal your true nature, thinking of attacking it. It’s just a child, you know!”
“Well, it’s just a bit bigger in size.”
Lu Xuan glanced at the wind falcon, now over two feet long, teasing the Cloud-Stepping Lynx.
He knew the lynx was just teasing the falcon; if it wanted to kill it, it could have easily caught a newly hatched falcon.
However, the falcon’s responses surprised Lu Xuan.
Its speed in reacting to the lynx’s attack, its agility in flight, and even grabbing onto Lu Xuan’s thigh to resist the lynx… it bore the grace of its owner.
Pleased with this thought, Lu Xuan fetched twice the usual amount of beast meat from inside.
Under the watchful eyes of the falcon, Lu Xuan swiftly tore the meat into smaller pieces, placing them in front of the lynx and the falcon.
The falcon, having just eaten the eggshell fragments, paid no attention to its slightly bulging belly and quickly indulged in the beast meat.
Seeing this, the lynx, usually a slow eater, quietly sped up.
It seemed like a contest of who could eat faster. In the blink of an eye, both piles of beast meat were devoured completely.
“This… you chubby little fellow, you’re eating me out of house and home…”
Lu Xuan felt a sense of urgency. Previously, only the lynx ate beast meat, and its daily portion wasn’t much. But now, with the newly hatched wind falcon needing a lot of beast meat, it was quickly running out.
“Looks like I need to accumulate a large amount of beast meat.”
“And I’ll need to buy some flying sword artifacts to satisfy the Sword-Nurturing gourd’s growth needs.”
Thinking this, Lu Xuan decided to visit Bai Li Jianqing, a fellow disciple with whom he had a good relationship. He’d catch up and inquire about these matters.
Their interactions within the sect were limited after entering it. Lu Xuan followed the address Bai Li Jianqing had left, riding a spirit crane to a massive peak.
Compared to Lu Xuan’s peak, this one bustled with activity. From the foot to the top, there were cave houses everywhere.
Lu Xuan halted in front of a serene courtyard, calling out, “Jianqing, are you home? It’s Lu Xuan, coming to see you.”
Soon, the formation outside the courtyard dissipated, and Bai Li Jianqing appeared, his slender eyes narrowing with a warm smile.
“What wind blew Lu Brother over? Rare guest, rare guest, come in quickly.”
As Bai Li Jianqing welcomed Lu Xuan in, he teased, “Weren’t you thinking about me? That’s why you’ve come.”
Lu Xuan jokingly replied, “Indeed, I missed you.”
“By the way, it’s been a while since we connected. How have you been lately?”
“Quite well, learning a lot within the sect. Practicing diligently every day, occasionally attending Foundation Establishment Masters’ lectures, sparring with fellow disciples, and recently, completing a task to hunt down some beasts outside the Black Abyss.”
“What about you? I’ve never seen you at the Foundation Establishment Masters’ lectures, nor have I seen you in sparring sessions.”
“I? I seldom leave. I spend most of my time studying cultivation methods and nurturing spirit plants. I’ve completed two tasks: cultivating a second-grade spirit plant and assisting in caring for the flood dragons in the Thousand Dragon Lake.”
Lu Xuan summarized.
“I heard the Black Abyss is fraught with dangers and powerful rogue cultivators. Did you encounter any danger?”
“We only operated on the outskirts, avoiding deeper areas. Accidents happen, though. Two senior brothers got injured, but fortunately, nothing severe.”
“Nevertheless, we, as major sect disciples, have advantages in cultivation and resources compared to wandering cultivators. It’s not easy for them to take us down.”
Bai Li Jianqing’s face brimmed with pride as a sect disciple.
After chatting for a while, Lu Xuan steered the conversation toward his query.
“By the way, Jianqing, with your good background and connections within the sect, I wanted to ask something. Do you know where one can sell or buy spirit medicines and monster materials in bulk within the sect?”
“Selling or buying monster materials?”
Bai Li Jianqing pondered.
“The sect doesn’t permit setting up markets, but there are occasional exchanges organized among disciples. These usually involve rare items, making it difficult to acquire large quantities of monster materials or spirit medicines within the sect unless you issue a task yourself.”
“The best option is to go to Sword Gate Town nearby. It’s filled with numerous shops, very close to the sect, so sect disciples often shop there.”
Bai Li Jianqing explained in detail.
Lu Xuan nodded; indeed, Sword Gate Town was quite close to the Tianjian Sect, merely a few dozen miles away, serving as a gateway between the sect and the outside world. It was also relatively safe with many Tianjian Sect cultivators residing there.
Deciding on this, Lu Xuan planned to visit Sword Gate Town, selling around a hundred Lingfire grasses he had and considering the prices for Dark Marrow Fungus and seventeen pieces of Clear Spirit Tea leaves.
Additionally, he needed to buy some monster meat, standard flying swords, and if there were any rare second-grade spirit seeds, that would be considered a bonus.
He had a strong desire for such spirit seeds; his previous acquisitions, such as the Sword Grass, Dark Marrow Fungus, and the growing Illusory Smoke Fruit, had brought him substantial benefits, leaving him eager for more.
