You Didn’t Tell Me the Start of My Transmigration Was a Gate - Chapter 8
The Start of Her Return (8)
The coarse grains of sand that were carried by the wind hit my face. Yeah, it became more apparent to me now that I’m faced with this situation. I’m being dragged into this hellish place once more.
I ran back into the mart before I got too involved in my own emotions.
“What was that… earlier?”
“… A Red Venomous Hornet.” I replied to Kwon Sung-Min’s question, whose face was now as white as a sheet. Whing Whing-, that sound came nearer and then faded out again.
*T/N: Red Venomous Hornet will be referred as Red Hornet when shortened, according to the raws.
Red venomous hornet. You might have guessed it from that savage name; it was a deadly monster with a sting at its tail. It must not be mistaken for a bee; although it looks like one, it would not die as conveniently as a common bee after it stung its target.
“Does it work like a poison needle then?”
“No way. Their sting is used for stabbing. It even rotates, so it’s more like a drill.”
As if to prove my words, the Red Hornet started to drill a hole in the mart’s walls.
“Arghhhh!”
Someone put down their bags and ran towards the storage room. But it was useless. Monsters have their own territory as well, and this place was definitely the Wind Rakers’ territory.
But seeing that no Wind Rakers are around and the Red Hornets have invaded it…
“The Earth General’s corpse is attracting other monsters over here.”
This barren land was not only merciless to the humans, but it was also the same to the monsters. As the monsters are always hungry, they often fight amongst themselves, as they scrambled for dead corpses. Though the storage room might still be safe now, it would not be the same when the evening arrived.
“W, what should we do? Damn it, it’ll soon drill through the wall!”
Lee Chan-Sung shouted with some cuss words mixed in it. As per his words, that hornet’s sting could be seen at our end of the wall. But should I be thankful for that? That hornet was also a Grade F monster. And the reason why they are Grade Fs was because they were easy to kill.
Their weakness was apparent too. The sting that was used to attack. That sting was like a glass sword, so as intense as their attack was, their defense would become as weak.
“Everyone, hide!”
People hid themselves after the mart’s signboards, ceiling and walls had crumbled down. Though it was a clumsy move, they would be safe for now.
Whiiiiiing!
The red hornet came into the mart after it made its way through the wall. Its transparent wings flapped against each other which created a unique resonance in the air. Red hornets might use that resonance to communicate, but it was a noise too intense to us humans.
The best scenario would be that the red hornet went straight to the storage without noticing us. Since bodies were strewn all over the mart, it would not detect our scent in the air.
The red hornet folded its wings and landed on the floor. Its repulsive legs crawled forward cooperatively. It lightly poked a limb that was lying around on the floor with its antennae and crawled past. It seemed to have had its fill before it had arrived here.
Shashasha- The red hornet slowly crawled out. I even lowered the sound of my breathing, and even put my hand over my heart, in fear that it could hear my beating heart.
Just as the red hornet was about to leave that stifling silence.
Achoo!
The red hornet stopped in its tracks. Cold silence filled the mart once more. Tension heightened in the air, and the red hornet flew up in a flash.
Whiiiiing!
The red hornet dashed towards the source of the noise. Damn it!
Clang! The sounds of metal clashing could be heard. Fortunately, Kim Tae-Byeong seemed to be right beside it.
The tank specialist Kim Tae-Byeong, now had put his iron plate, which was given to him earlier, to fair use. He quickly threw out the iron plate as soon as a hole had been drilled into the frying pan.
Whiiing!
“Roll to your side!”
He threw himself to one side at my order. It was almost at the same time when a hole was drilled through where Kim Tae-Byeong was.
