You Will Forever Be My Always - Chapter 27 (Riku's P.O.V)
It was dark but warm at the same time. I could see a ray of light shining down on something. I walked closer to the light and saw someone sitting there.
“Hello?” I asked. The figure didn’t move and it was kinda freaking me out.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“You don’t remember me?” The figure asked. The closer I got to them, the lighter the room got. I saw the figure and it was a woman. I couldn’t make out the details, but I knew for sure it was a woman.
“Who are you?” I asked again.
“Riku…it’s me.” She said.
“Mom?” I said with tears rolling down my face and running to hug her. She smiled and hugged me back. She’s my real mother. My father remarried when she passed away due to a heart diease. I was only 5 then.
“What are you doing here?” I asked her.
“I just kinda appeared here.” She said.
“How? You passed away when I was only 5.” I said.
“Yes and I’m sorry that you had to grow up without a mother for awhile.” She said.
“It’s okay mom. You’re here now.” I smiled.
“And yes Riku, I am dead which is why you are seeing me right now.” She answered.
“Wait..am I dead?” I asked looking at her.
“No, but your also not alive.” She said.
“What happened to me?” I asked her.
“You got shot in the chest.” She said sadly.
“Am I gonna be okay?” I asked.
“That’s up to you sweetie. Either you wanna keep fighting or you just want to give up.” She said and I stayed quiet.
“But let’s not talk about that right now. Tell me about her.” She said.
“About who?” I asked.
“About Aia.” She said.
“How do you know about her?” I asked.
“I may be dead, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped watching over you.” She stated and I laughed a bit agreeing with her.
“Her name is Aia Suzuki. She’s a writer at ShinHigh Writing Industry and she made is big with Jinx publishing her novel worldwide. She’s beautiful and talented and so kind, like you mom. She’s the only girl who could get through to me. She even still waited for me when I chose to go shoot a drama in New Zealand.” I explained.
“She must be a special girl who never gives up on anybody.” She said smiling.
“Trust me, she is mom.” I smiled at the thought of Aia’s smile in my head.
“What else?” She asked.
“Her father and dad arranged us to be married in 2 weeks.” I said.
“That’s wonderful!” She smiled with joy.
“It is, but what if she doesn’t want to marry me mom? What if leaving her at home for almost a month changed her feelings? I really want to marry her and live a wonderful life together.” I explained.
“Then why don’t you tell her?” She asked.
“Because what if I get rejected. What if I don’t wake up?” I asked.
“Sweetie, that’s all up to you.” She said.
“You’re right mom. I’m sorry, I can’t stay with you.” I said holding her hands.
“I know and that’s okay.” She said holding my hands.
“I love you mom.” I said with tears rolling down my cheeks.
“I love you too Riku and no matter what you chose to do, I am proud of you.” She smiled with tears.
I suddenly opened my eyes and saw nothing, but bright lights. I tried looking around, but it was hard to move my head and neck. I tried to move my hands, but I felt like I couldn’t do anything. I blinked my eyes nonstop for a little bit to make sure I was really awake. I heard a voice calling out my name, but I couldn’t make it out.
“Riku, you’re awake.” A voice said.
“Where am I?” I asked.
“You’re in the hospital.” The voice said. I looked over at who was talking and saw Aia.
“How long was I out?” I asked trying to sit up.
“For about a week. Your gunshot wound was pretty deep.” Aia said.
“How long have you been here?” I asked her.
“Ever since you were in surgery.” She answered.
“You should go home and get some rest. I’ll be okay I promise.” I said and smiled at her.
“Riku I wanna stay with you.” She said sitting down beside me.
“I want you to get some rest please.” I said holding her hand.
“Okay I will. I’ll see you tomorrow morning then.” She said and kissed my cheek.
I watched her walk away and I looked out the window and it was already dark outside. I still felt tired and wanted to sleep, but I slept for so long now I didn’t want to sleep anymore. I looked at my side and saw my phone. I looked throught my photos and found an old picture of my mom and I.
“I wish you were here with me right now mom. Even with the little time we had, I was still happy to see you.” I said wiping my tears away. I held my phone close to my chest and closed my eyes.
