You Will Forever Be My Always - Chapter 35 (Riku's P.O.V)
I saw her standing there with Arata and she looked a bit different. Her hair got longer and she got a bit tanner which isn’t bad because her skin complexion is still nice as always. She got a bit taller and more fit. I knew it was weird when we might see each other again, but I didn’t think it would be this weird.
“Um….how have you been?” I nervously asked.
“I’ve been good, what about you? How’s you and Sun Hee?” I asked.
“We’re good.” I answered.
“That’s good. I’m happy for you.” She smiled.
“Thank you.” I smiled a bit back.
“It’s getting late, I should be getting home.” She said and looked at Arata for his signla to continue walking.
“Ok, see ya.” I said.
“See ya.” She said and walked away with Arata.
She passed me and the smell of her strawberry scent brought back our memories and I honestly made me sad and realize how much I missed it, but I couldn’t go back to her. If I did, my father would be angry with me as well as Sun Hee’s father for ruining their business deal and so forth. I shook my head to get that thought out of my mind and focus on what I needed to do. I walked inside ShinHigh and found Ms. Chinen still inside.
“Hey Ms. Chinen, you got a sec?” I asked walking over towards her.
“Yeah, what’s up?” She asked walking towards me.
“I was wondering if you could convince Aia to come to my wedding. I know it’s probably a lot to ask for, but it would mean a lot to me if she came to my wedding.” I said.
“I understand where you’re coming from and how you feel, but I just don’t know if she’s ready for something that big. After all you were her first love.” Himari explained.
“I understand….but will you ask her?” I said.
“Yes Riku, I will.” She smiled.
“Thank you Ms. Chinen.” I smiled a bit and walked out of the building.
I walked back to the parking lot and got into my car. I turned the engine on and drive home. I drove a bit slow and took the backroads since Sun Hee wasn’t going to be home until late so what’s the point of rushing to get home? I cruised around the roads and made it home. The lights were still off and Sun Hee’s car still wasn’t home as always. I got out of my car and unlocked the door. It was cold and dark inside. I turned on the lights and locked the door behind me. I turned on the heat and sat down at the kitchen table. I was in deep thought thinking if Aia would come to my wedding or not until my phone was ringing.
“Hello.” I asnwered.
“Riku this is Mr. Kim, I’m calling you about the wedding. I have already talked to your father about this and I’m just here to let you know. We are moving the wedding to this weekend. We need to seal the deal right away, which is why we moved up your guys wedding.” Sun Hee’s father explained.
“Yes sir.” I said.
“No need to be so formal Riku, and yes your father and I will set up the wedding as well as decorations and food and everything.” He said.
“Yes sir. Thank you for informing me.” I said.
“You’re welcome.” He said and hung up.
I sighed and looked up at the kitchen light. I can’t believe we’re getting married thing weekend. It’s coming up so quick. I took a deep breathe and scrolled through the news and upcoming events and there I saw a book sigining event festival held by Jinx. It’s said to be the most famous and joyous event that Jinx always holds every year. I scrolled through more of the event and saw Aia’s name and picture on the list of the top writers that were gonna be there. I kept scrolling and it was an open event for everyone. There were pictures of the event of it looked pretty fun and it was also my chance to talk to Aia for at least more than 10 seconds.
“Hey your home.” Sun Hee said opening the door.
“Did you hear what my father said.” She said and kissed me on the cheek.
“Yeah, he called me directly and informed me.” I replied.
“That’s good, are you excited?” She asked smiling.
“Yeah I am, are you?” I faked smiled.
“Of course I am!” She squealed with excitement.
She smiled and kissed me on the cheek again and went to her room to answer a phone call. I stayed at the table and looked at my phone. I still had Aia’s picture up on my phone from the event and I couldn’t help but kept staring at it. I put my finger on my screen where Aia’s cheek was.
“I miss you.” I whispered to myself.
I turned off the lights and went to my room and locked the door. I kept looking at her picture and seeing her smile makes my heart ache. I didn’t like this feeling at all, but I knew I had to deal with it for the rest of my life. My phone started ringing and the caller ID popped up. It was Arata.
“Hey Arata.” I said picking up the phone.
“Hey Riku.” He said.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“I was calling to make sure that the wedding was still next week.” He said.
“Uh actually Sun Hee’s father moved it up to this weekend, which is in two days.” I said.
“Oh wow, that’s pretty quick. Are we still on for shopping for suits tomorrow?” He asked.
“Yes.” I answered.
“Oh and after we go shopping can we go to the book signing festival event that Jinx is holding in the city?” Arata asked.
“Yeah, why not. It sounds like fun.” I said.
“Awesome! Great!” He said and we both hung up.
I laid there on my bed in the dark and I took one last look at her picture. For some reason I couldn’t get her out of my mind. It’s like she’s forever stuck in my head and won’t leave which isn’t bad, but for me a soon to be married man thinking about another woman is just bad for my reputation. I turned off my phone and closed my eyes hoping everything would be over soon.
