Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband - Chapter 1555 Just Give Up
1555 Â Just Give Up
In a lavish mansion just beyond the city limits, the property of the esteemed Wen family.
The morning sunlight flooded the capacious and tastefully adorned bedroom where a couple lay nestled beneath the sheets. Wen Zac’s eyes gently opened, and he beheld his beautiful wife nestled in his arms. The events of the night flashed through his mind, prompting a sweet smile to grace his lips.
His hand instinctively reached to gently sweep away a few stray strands of hair from her delicate cheek. Unable to resist, he tenderly planted a kiss on her forehead, expressing the depth of affection he held for her in his heart.
Ming Lan slowly opened her eyes, discovering her naked form enveloped in a warm embrace. Her gaze met his affectionate eyes.
“Good morning,” he greeted her with a smile.
“Morning,” her soft voice responded, mirroring his smile.
“Did you sleep well?” he inquired.
She nodded gently and returned the question, “And you?”
He shook his head. “I couldn’t.”
A hint of concern crept into her gentle gaze. “Why?”
“I was trying to make sure it’s not a dream.”
“What dream?”
“That we are really together like this.”
She felt a bit puzzled, not fully grasping the depth of his emotions, as she remained unaware that he had been eagerly awaiting for her for so many years.
Thinking he might be referring to her departure for work right after their marriage, she asked, “I made you wait for a long time.”
He nodded but reassured her, “I didn’t mind waiting, as long as you are finally with me.”
She smiled and nestled back into his chest, unable to contain her happiness.
“If you’re finished with sleep and not tired at all, I can show you around here,” he offered.
She nodded, “That sounds good,” and turned her attention back to him. “I’ll freshen up,” she said, but as she moved, she realized she was naked and abruptly halted, holding the blanket tightly in front of her chest. Awkwardly, she glanced at Wen Zac, who lay in bed, a light smile playing on his lips as he observed his shy wife.
“There’s nothing I haven’t seen,” he teased. “Go ahead.”
23:00
He chuckled and turned his head away, but unexpectedly, he stepped out of the bed, pushing the blanket aside.
Ming Lan averted her gaze as he stood naked, her face turning red. However, Wen Zac didn’t stop there. He came to her side of the bed, pushed away the blanket covering her, and scooped her into his arms to carry her to the bathroom.
Ming Lan didn’t even have a chance to react; she was left in shock, her hands unsure about which part of her body to cover.
“Just give up,” he chuckled, looking at her flushed face, and carried her regardless. “We’re going to be here for the entire week, and I’m not planning to spare you.”
Ming Lan gave up struggling, circled her hands around his neck, fearing to fall, and remained silent, thinking her husband was shameless.

Nicky and her mother arrived at the hospital for their appointment with Dr. Jiang Yang, following the scheduled time. In the elevator, Nicky noticed that her mother’s assistant had pressed the button for a higher floor.
“Isn’t it the wrong floor?” Nicky inquired.
Her mother smiled, recognizing that her daughter remembered Dr. Jiang Yang’s office was on the another floor. “Things have changed here in the past ten years. The cardiology department has been relocated to another floor. Also, Dr. Jiang Yang is not just the best surgeon but now the Chief of the Cardiology department.”
“He’s the youngest doctor to achieve it,” Song Meilin’s assistant added.
Nicky simply nodded, listening to her mother’s assistant speak again, “Apart from being a skilled doctor, he’s also a good person.”
“Agreed,” Song Meilin added. “It’s rare to find a man with both exceptional skills and a good nature.”
Nicky continued to hear them both intentionally praising the man and sighed inwardly. Who knew him better than she did?
They reached the designated floor and headed to Jiang Yang’s office.
“We’re heading to Dr. Jiang’s main office rather than where he conducts outpatient duties,” the assistant informed.
Upon reaching the office, the assistant doctor guided the VIP patient inside and explained, “Dr. Jiang is currently on outpatient duty. He’ll be here shortly.”
As they entered, Nicky noticed that the office was significantly larger than the previous one and maintained in a luxurious manner. She observed the nameplate on the table, indicating that he now held a higher status and was a prominent figure in the hospital.
Song Meiling took a seat on the couch with Nicky beside her, while Song Meilin’s assistant stood to the side.
Nicky continued to survey the office, pondering Jiang Yang’s usual presence. Her gaze fell on the empty chair behind the expansive desk, and she could envision him sitting there, earnestly studying patient and case reports on the computer screen.
“We’re fortunate to have VIP appointments with Dr. Jiang, as he usually only sees patients during outpatient duty,” Song Meilin commented.
The assistant chimed in, “Mrs. Xi, Dr. Jiang considers you like his family. He has been treating you as more than just his patient for the past ten years.”
“Hmm, I can’t deny that,” Song Meilin said, glancing at her daughter, who was silently observing the office. “I wonder what brought me this fortune to have it so easy. There’s a line of VIP patients, but it isn’t easy for them to get Dr. Jiang’s appointment.”
The assistant clearly understood where his boss meant to lead this talk and added, “Dr. Jiang is a close acquaintance of Miss Nicky, so…”
“We’re not that close anymore,” Nicky interrupted before they could draw any more conclusions.
Song Meilin sighed. “But you can’t deny his care towards me. My health is better because of him.”
Nicky stared at her mother. “Mom, you weren’t this fond of him even when he brought you back to life in the past. What has gotten into you that you can’t stop talking about him now?”
Song Meilin frowned. “I was just stating the facts.”
“You never liked to sugarcoat the facts,” Nicky retorted. “If you have any more ideas in mind, get rid of them. What was between us, it was all in the past. Now we’re more like strangers. Don’t act extra when he comes here, as if you can’t wait to hook your daughter up with him again.”
“What?” Song Meilin exclaimed. “When did I do that?”
“I see you doing it,” Nicky didn’t back down. “I liked you the way you were in the past. Just treat him normally.” ThĂŞ sourcđť—˛ of this content n/o/v/(đť’†l)bi((n))
Song Meilin sighed. “Whatever, I won’t concern myself with your matters. Let some other beautiful doctor take him away. I see he has beautiful assistant doctors working with him.”
“I have nothing to do with it.”
“Don’t come crying later.”
“Why would I?”
“Only you know.”
Both mother and daughter looked away from each other, not intending to argue more.
