Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband - Chapter 1562 Vow To Protect Her
Chapter 1562 Vow To Protect Her
Upon their arrival at Lu Mansion, Jiang Yuyan issued a gentle warning. “Please, do your best not to make Weiwei cry. He’ll be leaving soon, so let him spend time with me.”
“You really like that little crybaby, huh?” he playfully challenged.
“Just because you were tough as a child, don’t mean others are annoying,” she retorted, “You were troublesome in other ways. Weiwei is cute. I like him.” Lu Lijun furrowed his brow but relented. “Alright.”
“In the future, we might have an adorable child like him,” she mused, attempting to appease his somewhat displeased mood.
“Our child won’t be a crybaby,” he asserted.
“Yeah, he will born laughing instead of crying like normal babies,” she laughed as she imagined what she had just said. Seeing her laughter, his mood gradually shifted, and he pulled her closer, causing her to stifle her laughter as her gaze met his intense one.
“It seems like you’re quite eager to have a child,” he remarked, his voice filled with suggestion. “Shall we begin working on that from today? Trust me, you’ll find the entire process of making a baby rather satisfying.”
Her face reddened, and she reminded him, “We’re home now. Someone might see us.”
Just then, there was a knock on the car window on Jiang Yuyan’s side. She pushed Lu Lijun away and quickly turned her attention to the window.
“Weiwei.”
She lowered the window to hear the little boy say, “Aunt Yuyu, why are you still sitting in the car?”
She composed herself and opened the door to step out. “What are you doing here alone, Weiwei?”
“I was playing in the garden,” he replied. “Since you didn’t come out of the car, I came over here.”
She gently held his hand, choosing not to answer his unspoken question about why she had been lingering in the car, and started walking.
Lu Lijun got out of the car and addressed Weiwei, “She was busy with me. Would you really have to disturb us?”
Weiwei sought refuge behind Jiang Yuyan, calling out to her, “Aunt Yuyu.”
Jiang Yuyan narrowed her eyes at Lu Lijun, who then turned and headed inside the house, leaving her alone with Weiwei.
She felt a sense of relief and turned to the little boy. “Weiwei, don’t be scared, okay? Uncle Lijun has given his approval for both of us to play together.”
His eyes sparkled with delight. “Really?”
“Hmm, let’s go inside,” she said, and Weiwei happily walked into the house, holding her hand and bouncing with excitement.

In the living room, everyone was having a family chat over tea after enjoying the hefty lunch. “Lu Han, you should listen to your mother and stay here with your wife. She is pregnant and needs the family’s care,” Lu Chen could be heard saying as he looked at his daughter-in-law, “What do you think, Qin Xiu?”
“Umm, I would like it to but I will follow what Lu Han thinks,” she replied. Lu Han chimed in, “We’ll be around when the time comes for the baby to arrive.”
However, Su Hui, Lu Han’s mother, couldn’t contain her frustration any longer. Her voice grew stern as she expressed her concerns, “Don’t you understand the importance of caring for a pregnant mother? It’s crucial!”
Lu Han defended himself, “Mother, rest assured, I’m taking good care of her.”
Frustration lingered in Su Hui’s voice as she said, “You and Lu Feng, it seems neither of you wants your mother anymore.”
Lu Han tried to explain, “It’s not like that, Mother…”
Interrupting the conversation, Lu Zilan, Lu Han’s aunt, interjected, “Lu Han, your mother has a point. This is the first child of the family, and you should realize how significant and exciting this moment is for everyone.”
Lu Han sighed, his gaze shifting to the approaching figure of Jiang Yuyan, who held Weiwei’s hand. He couldn’t bear the thought of Jiang Yuyan recalling the painful days when she lost her own baby, and seeing his wife’s burgeoning baby bump might trigger those painful memories. He dreaded causing her more heartache.
Lu Han gazed at his mother and firmly stated, “We will be here when she completes her nine months.”
Jiang Yuyan, who had been quietly observing the tense exchange, approached the group. She examined Su Hui’s displeased expression and inquired, “What happened?”
Su Hui glanced at Jiang Yuyan and vented her frustration, saying, “My son never listen to me. He doesn’t listen to any of us.”
“Mother…” “Do not talk to me unless you agree to let Qin Xiu stay here with us,” Su Hui interrupted him and looked at Jiang Yuyan, “You try talking. He might at least listen to you.”
Jiang Yuyan exchanged a glance with Lu Han, who seemed hesitant. He murmured, “Yuyan, you know how sensitive Mother can be about trivial matters. Just ignore her…”
“I believe Aunt is making a valid point,” Jiang Yuyan replied calmly. “It might be better for sister-in-law and you to stay here. In three months, she’ll be giving birth, and she’ll need the support of the family during this time.”
“We will be here and there she lacks nothing,” he tried to argue.
Jiang Yuyan countered, “This is the first child of our family, and we shouldn’t miss the opportunity to share in the joy of anticipating its arrival and caring for the mother.”
Just then, Lu Lijun, who had arrived after taking an important call, spoke up, “I’ve already arranged for experts to handle Brother Han’s work at the branch office. He can stay here with the sister-in-law as well, and those professionals will take care of his responsibilities.”
The announcement brought smiles to everyone’s faces. “I didn’t know you had it in you to be so considerate, young man,” teased Lu Zilan.
Lu Lijun, however, was quick to deflect the credit, saying, “It was Yuyan’s idea. She suggested it a few days ago.”
Su Hui fixed her gaze on her son, a hint of admonishment in her eyes as she remarked, “Do you see that? Even though they are younger than you, they care more about her and the child.”
Lu Han, feeling somewhat cornered, finally relented, “Alright, as you say, Mother.”
With the matter resolved, Jiang Yuyan turned her attention to the young one in the room. “Weiwei, stay here for a moment. I’ll be back soon.”
Curious, Weiwei inquired, “Where are you going, Aunt Yuyu?”
“To my room. I’m a bit tired and need to freshen up. Just wait here, okay?”
Weiwei nodded, and Jiang Yuyan made her way toward the staircase, with Lu Lijun following closely. On the stairs, Jiang Yuyan turned to him and asked, “When did I tell you to arrange for experts to handle Brother Han’s work?”
Lu Lijun responded with a playful grin, “You did mention that sister-in-law is pregnant and should stay here with the family, so I decided to make your wish come true. Now, Brother Han has no excuses and must stay here as well.”
Jiang Yuyan smiled and quipped, “You’re becoming quite clever, aren’t you?” Điscover n𝒆w chapt𝒆rs 𝒐n n0𝒗e(l)bi𝒏(.)com
“What do I get in return for being smart?” Lu Lijun inquired playfully as he grasped her hand and drew her closer while they ascended the stairs.
Jiang Yuyan warned, “Lijun, everyone is here.”
“They’re all occupied,” he insisted.
“Do you take pleasure in doing risky business?”
His reply was confident, “I do. Now, make it quick.”
She stole a glance back to ensure nobody was watching, and then swiftly planted a brief kiss on his lips. “Let’s go now.”
When the two retuned, Weiwei hugged her thighs and looked up at her, “Aunt Yuyu, I was a kiss as well.”
Jiang Yuyan didn’t mind and knelt as she pecked on his cheek, “Happy now?”
He shook his head, “I saw you kissed on uncle Lijun’s lips. I want on lips as well….”
Jiang Yuyan covered his mouth but till then it was late and everyone heard him. Embarrassed she didn’t dare look at anyone while Lu Lijun spoke coldly, “Were you spying on us?”
He shrank into Yuyan’s arm, “Aunt Yuyu, uncle is scaring me.”
Others looked at them and could only enjoy the bickering between big and small guy. Jiang Yuyan immediately stood up, not wanting to stay there any longer, “Weiwei, let’s go to garden and play.”
As she hurried out, everyone laughed at her embarrassed self while Lu Lijun received the call. He excused and went out to attend it. “What’s the progress?” he asked. “Seems like it’s the time for face-off,” Noah replied, “That guy is adamant on going against us. You might get to meet him in person.”
“I will make sure he won’t forget going against us just like his dead father and brother did,” Lu Lijun’s gaze followed who was playing with Weiwei in the garden, “Make sure to hide anteing related to him would not reach Yuyan.”
“Mister Xiao Min is taking care of it,” Noah assured and spoke, “Chairman Lu, I mean your father will soon have board meeting to make you president. Would be better for it to happen faster so it would be easier to keep your wife away from everything.”
“Hmm, I will talk to father,” and hung up the call.
His gaze continued to follow Yuyan, who was laughing while playing catch and run with the Weiwei. Her laughter reached his ears. His gaze silently vowed to protect her from anything that meant to harm her.
