Young Master in the Apocalypse - Chapter 114
The Romanov family?
As soon as he heard his family name being mentioned, at first, Viktor had an immediate urge to turn around and leave the place right away. However, in the last moment he ultimately managed to hold back his step. It was probably the time for him to brace himself to meet his family.
Viktor knew that, sooner or later, he would have to face the family. In addition, this situation was actually more ideal, because he now had an opportunity to understand and see his family’s condition in secret.
Among the 50 people who were currently resting, an older man in his forties who seemed to be the commander of the group beckoned and called Antoine over. The man’s call should signal they were about to do something important.
“I think we will be moving soon. Be prepared!” said Antoine to both Viktor and Jessie, as he made his way towards the commander who called him the moment before.
While the man was walking away, Viktor quickly told Jessie that he did not want his family to recognize him. Because of this, he used [Metal Fusion] to cover his whole body in metal and not be recognized.
Seeing Viktor in his armor suit, Jessie said,
“I know you don’t want to talk about your secret skill, but let me give you some advice. That metal armor of yours might look a little like the [Silver Body] spell, but most experts would know that it’s not. If people ask where it comes from, I suggest saying that it’s a lucky skill drop from a pillar challenge.”
Viktor has no idea what a pillar challenge was, but this was exactly the reason Viktor brought her here – to give him timely advice and assistance.
She knew what was best to do for him in order to make his plan run smoothly and that no one would be suspicious of him. He naturally wouldn’t refuse her words, therefore he nodded and followed her advice.
A moment later, Antoine returned to them, and when he saw Viktor wearing his metal armor, in amazement he said,
“Ahhh metal users! That looks really cool, man!”
The man quickly said that their break had come to an end. At this moment, the whole group was called upon to gather together. Antoine also told Viktor and Jessie that both of them were called to join as well.
With the sensor, Viktor was able to quickly know their strength. As such, he did a quick scan on the strength status of the people in this room. After he checked their stats, however, he was a little taken aback by the results.
[24 Human – Sky Realm Mid – 52 to 58 Battle Power]
[22 Human – Sky Realm High – 61 to 69 Battle Power]
[10 Human – Sky Realm High – 74 to 82 Battle Power]
From the looks of it, it seemed that there are two kinds of high-level sky realms, and not only that their physical qualities were different – where one was stronger than the other, but even from a glance they also looked to be very different from one another.
Based on what he had heard and known, Viktor quickly guessed those people were the members of the spirit enhancer group.
Being in the middle of these sky realm fighters did seem overwhelming, as all were holding their own melee weapon tightly and wearing some kind of armor. From their gesture, these people were definitely veterans.
Upon arrival, Antoine introduced both Viktor and Jessie to the group. Realizing that they had newcomers, a few heads turned to stare at them.
“Antoine, what the hell an earth realm is doing in here?” One of the men inquired.
Just like what Jessie had told him previously, it seemed that some of these sky realm figures were those not particularly pleased with the presence of the earth realms.
In response, Antoine casually shrugged his shoulders while saying, “I thought we can use some people to carry stuff and also the wounded later.”
“Hahaha, Antoine you can’t fool us! You are just trying to show off to the pretty girl, aren’t you!?”
“Hello, beautiful, what’s your name?”
A group of men approached Jessie and teased her as soon as they saw her. Amazingly, Jessie has her own way and managed to calmly deal with these people.
Like always, apocalypse or not, a beautiful girl would always be welcome in any kind of group.
As for Viktor, some of the men could only burst out laughing as soon as they saw him.
“What a joke!” One of the men exclaimed.
“The battle hasn’t even started and this guy already uses his metal skill for protection!! Seriously, are you that afraid?!” After saying these words, the sky realm figure bursted out laughing.
Although it was a little bit annoying, Viktor must keep in mind the purpose of him doing this up to this point. He didn’t want to ruin his mission, so he decided to just keep his mouth shut and his eyes wide open.
Not long after the commander called for them all to move and Viktor opted to follow the group of 50 people as they dashed deeper into the massive tunnel.
It didn’t take long for loud clashes of steel, screams, and even some explosions to be heard in the distance.
Viktor, who was encapsulated in his metal suit, turned serious immediately and quickly prepared himself for anything. However, he still couldn’t hold himself from having his eyes wide open as he took in what he was seeing in front of him. It did give him a shock.
A hundred or more people who were all the sky realms were engaged in intense combat. They were all fighting about a hundred oversized, dark green skin creatures with ferocious tusks coming out of their mouths.
The Djinn scanned the creature for him in a matter of seconds.
[Champion Orc – Battle Power 80]
What the fu*kkk?!
There were a hundred of those powerful creatures, each clad in armor that covered half of their bodies and wielding a large weapon such as a mace, an ax, and a large saber.
Meanwhile, on the human side, there were approximately 200 of them, all of whom were the sky realm fighters.
It was his first time seeing such a scale of battle, humans and orcs both fighting to the best of their abilities with the sole intention of taking the other side out. Each clash of weapons caused sparks of fire, while a flurry of arrows were shot through the air at such speed that it produced sound. And of course, the most recent wonder of the world: magic.
Viktor saw how a fireball and a lightning bolt worked in tandem and simultaneously hit an orc, sending it blasting away through the air. On the other side of the battlefield, a wall of ice and rock stopped the movement of a small group of orcs.
People ran and jumped at a speed he had never seen before. Each and everyone within the lines were even stronger than the group of templars he saw before.
“We are heading in!” said the commander and, quickly, Viktor’s group of 50 dashed just on the rear of the formation and stopped waiting for order. It was clear that their group was what called as a reserve group. A replacement bunch to a prolonged battle.
Now that he was just behind them, Viktor could now clearly see the formation prepared; half of the human holding out the middle ground with the front most were using large shields covering the line and hold about two third of the orcs while the rest of the fighters were fighting spread on two sides, with each three sky realms fighting against one Champion Orc.
By taking a quick look around, Viktor could also tell that the group in the middle was engaged in defensive operations, holding a large amount of the orcs, while the one on the side was doing the offensive, killing them one by one in a three-to-one fight.
When Viktor scanned this group of humans, he found similar numbers with mid-stage sky realm in their 50ish battle power, high stage in 60ish, and the spirit enhancer high stage in the 70ish. However, there were two people who stood different from the rest of the two hundred fighters.
They were a big man with a huge ax and a woman with purple hair wielding two swords in her hands. Both of them were on the saint level and each took the lead on the offensive sides.
[Female – Saint Realm – Battle Power – 92]
[Male – Saint Realm – Battle Power – 105]
While still amazed with the view, Vikotr heard the commander divided them and that he was deployed to go to the offensive group on the left.
“You all will be fighting in three” he said, and when he look at the two earth realms, he added,
“Antoine, you will be responsible for those two earth realms.”
Antoine didn’t expect himself to be ordered with such a task. The commander’s order just now had quickly made Antoine pale as he stated, “The commander wishes me dead!”
