Young Miss Strike Back! - Chapter 107
A few days have passed and Lin Xiaoxiao has had a feeling something was off about Minmin. Ever since the commercial, she has acted differently than before. Lin Xiaoxiao was not fully sure if her assumption was correct but she had an inkling that Minmin was back to normal. But was afraid to say anything. After reading Minmin’s diary she understood that Minmin probably did not want to go back to being alone like she was before. Lin Xiaoxiao knew very well how lonely Minmin was. Even she did not want Minmin to go back to how she was before. She preferred this current Minmin who was happy to be with her new family. Lin Xiaoxiao also understood Minmin might think she will have to leave once they found out that her mind is normal again.
After a week of observation, Lin Xiaoxiao finally decided it was time to confront Minmin. At this time she was ninety percent sure that Minmin was fully recovered. So currently she was out to find her target. After speaking to a few maids she found out that Minmin was out in the garden in the back. The back garden was quite big. Shen Xing put a lot of thought into this garden. He wanted a place where the kids could run around and play and take in nature’s beauty at the same time. Planets of all types aligned the cobblestone path that weaved and intercrossed all over the place making a small maze that will always lead to the path out.
Sitting under a tree in the playing with a freshly picked flower sat a young girl. Her expression was that not of which a normal five or six year old without a care in the world would make but that of a young teenage girl who had a lot of worries on her mind. Lin Xiaoxiao saw the expression on Minmin’s face and knew right away that she was right. Minmin was back to normal but was filled with worries.
Slowly walking up Lin Xiaoxiao smiled as she said: “You know this Fairy Lily is worried about her little sister. Fairy Min why did you not tell mom or me that you were normal again?”
Minmin’s expression froze. She had been lost in thought and did not hear Lin Xiaoxiao approach. She knew by what Lin Xiaoxiao said that there was no hiding it anymore. But the fear of being separated by everyone caused tears to well up into her eyes. Drop after drop of tears fell from her eyes and down on to her hands. Lin Xiaoxiao quickly knelt down and pulled Minmin into a hug. “Little Min… I know you are scared that if we knew that you were all better you would be left alone again. But you do not need to worry about that. You are already officially my mom’s daughter and my little sister. Your name is Qin Min the same surname as I had before I got married. No matter how old you act or what you decided to do from now on. Always remember we are your family now and nothing will ever change that.”
“Wu~! Wu~!” Tears flooded out of Minmin’s eyes as if a dam had broken. She buried her head into Lin Xiaoxiao’s chest as she let out all her tears.
Sixteen years of loneliness. Passed around from orphanage to orphanage. She never even had proper schooling. To earn money for food she would sing on the streets and hope for someone to drop a few coins. Luckily she was scouted which improved her life greatly. But in the end, she only had a maid to keep her company. Birthdays and other holidays were all considered as being another day. There was never a chance to know the feeling of family love. But after the kidnapping incident, she finally got the greatest wish of her life. She gained a family! But when she became clear-headed again she was scared to lose her new family. Which was why she continued to act as if she was still not okay. But now listening to her big sister. She now realized that all her fears were for not. She could still stay in this new family even if she was okay. She was truly grateful that she had met Lin Xiaoxiao.
Lin Xiaoxiao let Minmin cry in her arms as much as she wanted. She had also secretly sent a message to Qin Mei telling her what was going on. Qin Mei replied that she also suspected Minmin was okay again but did not want to say anything. But now that everything was out in the open it was for the best.
It did not take long for Qin Mei to find the two sitting under the tree. One crying while the other comforted. Qin Mei smiled as she walked up and in a stern voice said: ‘Lily! How many times have I said not to make your sister cry!?”
This sudden outburst startled Lin Xiaoxiao as she thought for a second. ‘ Had I eve made Minmin cry? ‘
“Umm… Mom I have never made Little Min cry…” Lin Xiaoxiao answered confusingly.
Qin Mei smiled and winked at Lin Xiaoxiao. Seeing that Lin Xiaoxiao nodded and quickly said in a panicked voice: “This may look bad but I really did not make her cry! Right, Little Min?”
Still slightly sobbing Minmin wiped her tears and said: “Un… Big Sister never made Little Min cry.”
“Oh… Not going to call her Fairy Lily anymore?” Qin Mei teased.
“No! Big Sister is Big Sister now!” Minmin argued back.
“It’s good you know! Do not forget Little Min you are now my daughter and as a mother, I will never leave my daughter alone. The same goes for your big sister. She will not leave you alone either. So always remember you are no longer alone in this world.” Qin Mei then knelt down and gave both Minmin and Lin Xiaoxiao a hug at the same time.
“Thank you, Mom, Big Sister… I love you both…”
