Young Miss Strike Back! - Chapter 86
That night Little Bo stayed with Lin Xiaoxiao at the hospital. Shen Xing and Shen Li went to work on trying to find the best doctor they could to give Little Bo’s mother even one more percent chance towards the better of the outcomes. Qin Mei was heading home to gather up some overnight bags for the two girls. When she peeked in on them in the guest room that was connected to Bo Ling’s VIP room, Qin Mei couldn’t help but smile. The term “blood is thicker than water” is not always correct. Bonds formed together through hardship can be just as thick as any blood ties one may have. Blood relationships do not always mean the best of relationships. The two sleeping girls in front of Qin Mei are proof of that. Even Qin Mei’s relationship with Lin Xiaoxiao is proof as well. Between the three of them, there were no blood ties just a deep familial love that could not be severed no matter what.
Qin Mei left the hospital and headed back home. She stopped off at her house first to freshen up and get changed before heading over to Little Bo’s place. Qin Mei did not go directly to Little Bo’s room, she went to Bo Ling’s room first. She wanted to clean the room up for her sister so that when she came back she would have a nice clean room to stay in. As Qin Mei started pulling the sheets off the bed an object fell to the floor.
Qin Mei knelt down and picked it up. It was a bunch of pieces of paper folded up together. Qin Mei opened it up to find it to be a letter. Qin Mei’s hands started to tremble as she started reading the contents.
“To my dearest daughter. By the time you are reading this, I am probably already gone. The pain in my body has become too much to bear. I did not want to leave this world in such a way but I can no longer handle the pain that constantly shoots throughout my body. But before I go I must let you know a few things. That is why I am writing this letter. All those years ago when you were just a little baby I found you near a dumpster in City A. Some cruel minded person, actually left an adorable baby such as yourself to suffer the hardships of life at such a young age. At that time it seemed as if you were only a few months old. When I laid eyes I fell in love. Instead of taking you to the police station, as I should have, I took you home. During that time my life was very grey. But the day you entered my life color was once again added to it. You are the treasure I found that gave me something to work towards in life.
Raising you became my goal in life. I told you that your father left when you were very young. But that was a story I made up the day you asked why you didn’t have a daddy. I cried tears that night because I had to lie to you. At that time I found you I had a serious case of depression. I lost both my parents due to an accident and was having a hard time paying for the bills on the home my parents left me. But after I found you everything changed. I quit the job I had and started doing jobs that allowed me to bring you with me.
You became my life… No, I should say that you were my angel. A Guardian angel that broke me out of my depression. You actually saved my life. Because at that time I was thinking of ending my own suffering and joining my parents in the afterlife.
As you got older and saw me struggling to make ends meet you even dropped out of school. As your mother, I felt upset that I was not able to give you a good life. But not once did you complain. You did oddball jobs and helped bring in more money which helped us a great deal. That year I borrowed money from loan sharks in order to pay for a few repairs to the house, made you suffer the most. Those people caused you to have a fear of men at a young age. My daughter, I am sorry. That was brought upon you by me and my foolish actions. If it was not for Qin Mei my dear sister I am sure our lives would have been a lot worse. Thanks to her the loan sharks finally left us alone so that we could continue our normal lives. I owe Sister Mei so much I don’t even know how I could ever repay her.
Then there was the day you brought Lily home. That poor girl had such a horrific life. Such a kind girl treated in such a way brought tears to my eyes and made my heartache for her. It was then though with Lily in your life that I saw you truly smile for the first time since you were young. The two of you became like sisters in no time. I was truly happy that Lily came into your life. She changed our hard lives to one of ease within the first year she knew us. For this, I will always be grateful. There is no way I could ever pay her back for all she has done.
Now, my daughter, you are grown into such a beautiful woman. You finally met a man you love. You might not say it but I can tell by how you talk about him. The gentleness in your eyes gives it away. I hope in the future you will be able to marry him and have a good life together. Maybe even have a daughter of your own someday.
My dearest daughter, Ru’er, although we are not related by blood. You are my Bo Ling’s daughter. I love you and wish for you to have all the happiness in your life that you so dearly deserve. I am sorry that I am stubborn and did not want to see a doctor. They cost so much money, how could I ask for help when I already owe so much. Now that you are grown and have a life of your own now. I can leave this world content.
Ru’er your mother loves you with all her heart… And I’m sorry I left like this.”
Tears streamed down Qin Mei’s cheeks…
