Chapter 551: Today, I Stand Here, Battling All Who Come (2)
“How terrifying!”
“Ming Jian’s strength seems to have surged again.”
In a secluded space within the Cang Feng Eldritch Voidrealm, Archimmortals, Archeldritches, and even four Astral Monarchs were observing the battle with growing astonishment.
“Inconceivable.”
“This is a combat genius who has mastered two Daos. I’m afraid no one in our eldritch world’s Fourth Origin Eldritch Field can match him,” an Archeldritch remarked, unable to contain his awe.
No one refuted him.
“The melee has begun, and those four Elysian Field powerhouses have unleashed their burst state. A melee is not favorable for qi refiners.”
Concern appeared on the faces of many Archimmortals and Archeldritches, but their expressions soon morphed into shock.
“This!”
“How is this possible?” Even the four Astral Monarchs displayed disbelief, as if they had witnessed something monstrous.
Amid them, a figure shrouded in black robes observed with barely concealed joy. The Law of Space! It’s the Law of Space! The Eldritch Sovereign will be overjoyed when he learns of this.
…
On Eldritch-Immortal Battlefield 36, the battle between Wu Yuan and Teng Duo, along with their allies, had reached a boiling point.
Realizing that the clash of domains and arcane arts would not secure victory, the four Elysian Field powerhouses formed an array. Like meteors streaking across the sky, they charged into Wu Yuan’s sword domain, targeting him directly.
Simultaneously, Jin Ming and Yin Ming—peerless geniuses whose Dao comprehension had reached the second-level True Intent stage of an Intermediate Law—unleashed several powerful spirion artifacts, attacking Wu Yuan with full force.
The Immortal Court camp was pulling out all the stops.
“Haha! Bring it on,” Wu Yuan’s eyes gleamed with battle fervor, though his demeanor remained calm and composed.
The flying swords in the sword domain assembled into a series of terrifying earthy-yellow divine swords. This included all nine of his lifebound flying swords.
Wu Yuan, too, was going all out.
Typically, sword cultivators would reserve one or two lifebound flying swords for self-defense during critical moments in battle. Sending them all out was unthinkable.
“Kill!” One of the Elysian Field powerhouses, deflecting attack after attack from the sword domain, closed in on Wu Yuan, his battle saber slicing a thousand li across.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Wu Yuan’s form blurred, and within the chaotic, turbulent sky, multiple silhouettes of him appeared simultaneously.
Each silhouette seemed as real as his true body, making it impossible to distinguish between them.
This was the ‘Celestial Phantom’ art, a technique Wu Yuan’s qi refiner self had been cultivating. With a touch of the profundities of Space, it became even more elusive and unpredictable.
This allowed Wu Yuan to narrowly avoid the vicious blade ray.
Six of the nine lifebound flying swords, along with six Hundred Swords Arrays, maintained the sword domain’s stability, suppressing Teng Duo and the eight Void Refiner Eminences.
“Kill!” Three lifebound flying swords led three Hundred Swords Arrays, forming three terrifying divine swords.
Two of these divine swords held off Jin Ming and Yin Ming’s attacks, while the third divine sword targeted the four Elysian Field powerhouses.
“Block it!”
“There are four of us!” The four Elysian Field powerhouses joined forces, each brandishing their weapons to defend against the assault.
Boom! Out of nowhere, a mysterious and inexplicable wave descended like a great hammer, violently striking the souls of the four Elysian Field powerhouses.
Soul secret art – ‘Soulshake Seal.’
Of the three soul secret arts Wu Yuan had cultivated—‘Soulshake Seal,’ ‘Soul Destruction Needle,’ and ‘Sword Soul Sourcelight’—his progress in ‘Sword Soul Sourcelight’ was the greatest, followed closely by ‘Soulshake Seal,’ though neither had reached a particularly profound level.
However, with Wu Yuan’s Yuan Soul power, nearly that of a High Immortal, the effect was terrifyingly potent.
Qi refiners all possess powerful souls, making it difficult to affect them; Teng Duo and the others surely have soul defense spirion equipment. Wu Yuan’s gaze was ice-cold. Only these four Elysian Field powerhouses, who have just broken through, probably haven’t even reached the Soul Will level yet.
Elysian Field powerhouses, with their soul, will, and physical body united as one, usually had strong soul defenses, though they were not adept at soul attacks.
Wu Yuan was gambling on the possibility that these four had only recently achieved their breakthroughs and might not have solidified their Soul Will.
After all, Elysian Field powerhouses typically required hundreds of years of secluded cultivation to establish a solid foundation.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Just as Wu Yuan had anticipated, three of the four Elysian Field powerhouses looked like they were struck by lightning, their gazes momentarily unfocused. Only one managed to resist, barely maintaining his clarity.
Whoosh! The divine sword streaked through the sky like a dragon roving through the void, leaving a deep, enduring mark in its wake.
As the sword tip neared one of the Elysian Field powerhouses, it exploded like a supernova, unleashing the terrifying power contained within.
One sword pierced through the bodies of three Elysian Field powerhouses, the erupting sword lights causing their bodies to explode.
Bang~ The aftershocks from the divine sword’s attack sent the last conscious Elysian Field powerhouse flying, blood gushing from his mouth.
Hum~ Boom~ The three Elysian Field powerhouses whose bodies had been torn apart struggled in vain, their fragmented forms attempting to reassemble.
“Die.” Wu Yuan’s killing intent surged.
Whoosh~ Endless sword light rained down, blanketing the sky as it shredded their remains, rapidly draining their vital ether.
In the blink of an eye, the three Elysian Field powerhouses were utterly destroyed, falling from the sky.
His soul attack is terrifying. We can’t withstand it. The lone remaining Elysian Field powerhouse panicked, attempting to flee.
With a sickening thud, the divine sword tore through the sky with matchless power, as if to pierce the heavens themselves. It sent his great hammer flying before piercing straight through his skull.
Whoosh! Whoosh! The sword domain’s radiance once again blanketed the sky.
With a ripping sound, the divine sword whirled back, slicing through the Elysian Field powerhouse’s body in a flash, tearing him completely apart.
As his body was rent asunder, his fate was sealed.
…
The battle raged with unrelenting ferocity. Teng Duo’s power was undeniable, and the eight Void Refiner Eminences fought with everything they had. Jin Ming and Yin Ming, too, displayed the battle prowess of true peerless geniuses.
However, Wu Yuan alone unleashed a powerful sword domain and multiple arcane arts, fighting as if many powerhouses were united in one body.
Most critically, his movement skill was incredibly refined, requiring few artifacts for protection. This allowed him to face fifteen opponents by himself while maintaining the absolute upper hand.
This was the advantage of having a powerful immortal root and a strong soul. A strong immortal root meant abundant mana, enabling the use of arcane arts and artifacts without concern for mana depletion. Meanwhile, a strong soul enabled perfect multitasking.
“Your turn,” Wu Yuan’s voice was filled with unyielding battle intent.
Whoosh! The lifebound flying sword leading the divine sword array tore through the sky and descended.
When the four Elysian Field powerhouses perished, the battle’s outcome was already sealed.
Whoosh! The divine sword swept through unimpeded, piercing the skulls of two Void Refiner Eminences. With their soul essence destroyed, they died.
Rumble~ Deprived of the support of two Void Refiner Eminences, the knife domain that had been resisting the sword domain finally began to collapse.
Flee! Overwhelmed by terror, Teng Duo was the first to retreat, fleeing like a gale at breakneck speed.
“We can’t win. Retreat.”
“Quickly, go!”
Jin Ming, Yin Ming, and the six Void Refiner Eminences reacted a beat slower, frantically scattering in all directions.
“Flee?”
“Teng Duo might escape, but can the rest of you?” Wu Yuan laughed.
Now, nothing could restrain his sword domain’s overwhelming might.
Boom! With his nine lifebound flying swords as the core, the vast sword domain fully erupted, spreading in all directions.
Fifteen thousand li…twenty thousand li…thirty thousand li!
In mere moments, as Wu Yuan stood in the sky, his massive sword domain engulfed a radius of thirty thousand li, completely enveloping everyone but Teng Duo.
“What?”
“A thirty-thousand-li sword domain?”
“This!” The six Void Refiner Eminences fleeing in different directions instantly despaired as terrifying sword lights streaked across the sky, sweeping over them. All of them perished.
Only Jin Ming and Yin Ming still struggled desperately to survive, not holding back any strength as they fled in opposite directions.
Defeating them with his sword domain alone would prove difficult.
I’ll pick you. Wu Yuan mused to himself.
Wu Yuan’s form flashed like lightning as he pursued Jin Ming, his feet treading the air as he swiftly closed in.
As for Yin Ming, he was fortunate enough to break out of the sword domain. Unable to alter his brother’s fate, he pushed down the grief in his heart and fled into the distance.
Sword lights rippled through the air as Wu Yuan arrived before Jin Ming, three earthy-yellow divine swords orbiting his body like silent sentinels.
Jin Ming, his face twisted in desperation, still clung to his artifacts, struggling against the inevitable.
“Ming Jian,” Jin Ming gritted his teeth, his eyes locking onto Wu Yuan’s with a mixture of fear and defiance. “Spare me, and I’ll give you all the treasures I carry.”
“You may kill those Void Refiner and Elysian Field cultivators, but you can’t kill me. I’m a genius of the Immortal Hall,” Jin Ming pressed urgently, grasping at any thread that could save his life.
“You’re a genius of the Eternal Sun Immortal World. There’s no need to make the Voltari Temple your mortal enemy,” Jin Ming added, a glimmer of hope flashing in his eyes as he attempted to reason with his opponent. In his view, since Wu Yuan hadn’t killed him outright, perhaps he was reluctant to make him an enemy.
“Enmity?” Wu Yuan’s voice dripped with cold amusement. “This is the Eldritch-Immortal Battlefield. Whether you kill me or I kill you, it’s all within the rules.”
The sneer on his lips sent a chill down Jin Ming’s spine. He stood stunned, his mind reeling as he realized there was no escape.
“The reason I didn’t kill you immediately is simple,” Wu Yuan continued coldly. “I know the Archimmortals and Archdeities of the Immortal Court’s War Temple are surely watching this battle.” His gaze bore into Jin Ming’s, as if staring at the many Archimmortals and Archdeities of the Voltari Temple observing through the voidrealm.
“I, Ming Jian, now tell you this,” Wu Yuan declared.
“You can notify those teams hunting me of my coordinates,” he continued, his eyes gleaming with a manic intensity. Clad in blood-red robes, Wu Yuan seemed to radiate an endless killing intent. “Today, I’m not going anywhere.
I’ll wait right here to battle all who come.”
Whoosh! With a final, decisive motion, the three divine swords streaked across the sky. Jin Ming’s cry of rage and despair was cut short as his artifacts were sent flying, and the blades sliced clean through his body.
Jin Ming was dead!
…
In the observation space of the Voltari Immortal Voidrealm, hundreds of Archimmortals, Astral Lords, and Astral Monarchs sat in stunned silence.
Wu Yuan’s arrogant roar still echoed in their ears: “Today, I’ll wait right here to battle all who come!”
In the observation space of the Cang Feng Eldritch Voidrealm, a similar silence reigned. None of the Archeldritches or Archimmortals had expected such audacity from Wu Yuan.
How audacious. The figure shrouded in black robes quietly praised, a hint of admiration in his voice. Truly worthy of being the Eldritch Sovereign’s disciple. He’s already broken the highest kill record.
