Zenith: Last Revenant - Chapter 77
The mood in the medical bay was at its lowest. The trio kept to themselves, mourning their lost brethren in their way. Shaya kept silently sobbing as she sat up on her bed, planting her face in her knees.
Cassa was similar to her best friend but much louder. She kept uttering curses, that while most were incomprehensible, she kept repeating a particular person’s name.
Milo, on the other hand, was silent. He did not cry, he didn’t look sad or emotional. With a stern expression, her eyes kept gazing towards the reinforced windows, looking at the void, lost in thought. Although he was looking at it, his mind didn’t register the entire trip, nor did he wake up when the ship exited the warp space and appeared next to an alien world.
He was only jolted awake when they suddenly felt the ship was shaken by a sudden hit. Clarity returned to his previously hollow eyes and quickly became wide-open as he just now saw the new planet in the distance.
“Where… are we?” He muttered, standing up, approaching the window to take a closer look at the situation outside.
Both girls, while couldn’t easily overcome their sadness, looked up upon hearing his words and looked towards the window.
“His home?” Shaya spoke faintly, looking at the blue and green globe in front of them. Looking at the two large metal ships looking like tiny bees, she asked out with a bit of interest behind her meek tone. “What are these? Are we under attack?”
Seeing the planet, and Shaya’s question, Cassa snorted with disdain before turning away a moment later.
“Who cares where that monster comes from? I just hope they can kill him!” Turning away and planting her face in the pillow she muttered very quietly only to herself. “…and hopefully us as well…”
Time passed, they witnessed as Spencer’s ship annihilated a big commanding warship at one side then stood still. Milo’s interest peaked, he watched keenly as the two sides began their battle, and smiled as the side that Spencer retaliated against was crushed in mere minutes.
“We won.” He blurted out, absentmindedly, completely forgoing his previous dark thoughts, captured by the visual treat that just played out in front of them.
The girls ignored his words, although Shaya seemed to nod slightly at his words. Her sobbing slowly died down, shortly followed by Cassa as well.
Overcome by curiosity, Milo turned towards the door. Before leaving the room, however, he stopped in the doorframe and looked at the girls.
“Come guys, let’s check what’s going on!”
Although looking reluctant, both girls stood up and followed along. Soon the trio left the medical bay, and for the first time, began to explore their new ‘metallic home’ in a quest to find the source of the sound.
—
The blinking green light and its accompanying high-pitched short pinging sound put an end to Spencer’s comfortable rest on the couch. He put the remains of the bag that once was full of the delicious popcorn, but did not stand up. Instead, he simply changed position, slightly straightening his back, and yelled out.
“Hex, open the communications channel! Let’s see what they want!”
A bit later Bey’on’s figure appeared in the hallway with an annoyed expression on her face. Her hands placed on her hɨps, she stomped her foot on the floor.
“What is going on?! Could you shut this down? I can’t concentrate!” She exclaimed angrily.
Delighted by the response, Spencer chuckled as HEX materialized a holographic screen in front of him.
“It’s our new friends trying to call us. Come, let’s meet them!”
Ignoring his comment, Bey’on turned around and was ready to leave when a thought came to her mind. She turned back once again, and instead silently walked next to Spencer, looking at the screen.
“I thought you don’t want to bother with such nuisances…” Spencer snickered as she arrived.
“Open the channel.” Ignoring his remarks, Bey’on responded coldly, focusing on the screen.
Before the connection was established, however, he insipidly remarked, not turning away from the screen.
“Your new lab rats have left their room and are coming towards us.”
Spencer nodded, not responding, but a small smile could be seen curving on the edges of his lips. Obviously, he was aware of their movement and even their current mental state. He decided to let them freely explore whatever they wanted and even to ‘spy’ on him if they so wished.
He knew that what he planned for them, couldn’t be rushed. He wanted to try and raise them to their prime state without destroying their bodies but instead, work together willingly. Yes, he could just forcefully destroy their current bodies just like he did with Bey’on at the time, and it would be successful, but he wanted to try out something different this time. He wasn’t sure what the end result would be, but he was greatly interested. Would it be the same? Would it be better or maybe worse? Whatever, they were the three last examples of their now-extinct species, and he wanted to test out many ideas with them.
However, before he could begin any of that, he had to gain their trust and willingness to work together.
His thoughts were interrupted as the screen finally appeared and the figure of a stout aged general appeared. He had short white hair, and a similar, trimmed beard. He appeared to be sitting, his hands betraying his seemingly calm expression as they kept thumping on the armrest.
Next to the figure stood yet another person donning a feminine slender physique. She also had long, lush platinum hair cascading down to her shoulders reaching her back. Her deep purple eyes seemed to be capable of piercing into the very depths of their soul, despite the relatively large distance between them. Although they weren’t certain, her humanoid figure was curvaceous, matching the idea of the perfect mate. She wore a white lab coat, and held a large plastic transparent cover on her eyes, giving the impression of a scientist.
Allowing a few seconds of silence pass, Spencer revealed a friendly smile and gave a big courteous bow at the screen. He was the first to greet, despite that they weren’t the ones initiating the contact.
“Greetings Kryptonians! My name is Spencer and this cold beauty next to me is called Bey’on. How may I be of service to you today?”
Being referred to like that, caused Bey’on to telepathically slap him, causing him to flinch involuntarily whilst keeping his attention on the screen.
“S-stop it, I’m sorry alright?” He whispered, surrendering to the torment.
Seeing how the Kryptonian looked at him with questioning gazes, caused him to remember something crucial that he forgot.
Facepalming himself, he waved his right hand in a circular motion, upon which a black tear in space formed. On the other side of the screen, a similar shape could be witnessed forming at the same time.
“Come, let’s meet our friends!”
Grabbing Bey’on’s hands he pulled him as he jumped into the gate. Bey’on obviously understanding the meaning behind his words, silently followed along, vanishing through the hastily made energy portal.
Ignoring their reaction, both Bey’on and Spencer quickly scanned their minds, learning their language in the process. What surprised them, however, was that besides the aged general, the rest of the Kryptonians had no resistance towards their mental probing.
Ignoring the sea of weapons aimed at them, Spencer gave another courteous bow and repeated his greeting, this time in their native language.
This caused a shock to surge through the crowd, looking at the alien with disbelief. Silent murmurs could be heard from the crew as they tried to make sense of everything that was transpiring.
“Did you hear that? Did you understand it as well?”
“What is happening? How did they appear on board? What are they?”
Similar whispers went along the crowd, thinking that they were unheard of, clearly not knowing the capabilities of the alien duo in front of them.
Spencer kept smiling at the aged general, whilst Bey’on began to look around. Her cold, emotionless eyes, slowly took in all the technology she could see.
Ignoring the weapons aimed at her, she took out a small pad and began to jot down her first impressions. Waving her right slender hand slightly, the guards surrounding them suddenly felt an invisible force crashing into them as they were pushed to the side, giving way to her as she began to sate her curiosity ignoring everything else.
Spencer could only sigh at her, giving a troubled look at the still silent and shocked general.
“I apologize for my friend here, she is only interested in technology, nothing else can come to her eyes. She means no harm.”
Jolted awake by his words, the general finally coughed, as he finally raised his right hand in the air giving a halt to the soldiers.
“At ease soldiers! Return to your posts, don’t bother our esteemed guests!”
Saying that he then returned the greeting he received from Spencer with a slight nod. The soldier unwillingly lowered their weapons and obeyed the direct order, leaving the area. The crew however remained vigilant and didn’t dare to utter a word nor make any sudden movement.
“Greetings, Spencer and…” he looked at the platinum-haired female, already exploring the various screens and devices on deck, ignoring the shocked looks of his crew. “…Bey’on. I am called Rex-Mall, and I am the captain of this ship and also the Commanding General of the Erkolian Defense Force. I hereby thank you for your ȧssistance against the Wegthorians!”
Spencer merely gave an impassive look and waved with his hand at the thought.
“Don’t bother with it, I don’t have any idea what the hell are you talking about anyway. That ȧsshole shot at me for no reason, so I merely responded in kind. I don’t know the first thing about Wegthorians, Smegthorians, or whatever.” As he spoke, Spencer also kept looking around, completely mesmerized by the incredible technology present.
“By the way…” Spencer spoke thoughtfully as he stepped forward, following slowly behind Bey’on. “…you guys have some really interesting stuff!”
Spencer also began observing the advanced technology littered around the room, being just as intrigued as Bey’on in this opportunity to gather further knowledge.
Rex-Mall was filled with fear as he witnessed these two beings invade his ship with ease and move around his soldiers with a wave of the hand. In his mind he was afraid of what this god-like being and his supposed mate could do to them, but despite all that fear, he noticed their interest in their technology and immediately recognized the benefit of a relationship with such a being. He quickly recognized this as a great opportunity to bring such a powerful entity on their side.
“Spencer was it? I would like to invite you into the Erkolian Defense Force to help us completely eradicate the Wegthorians. In return, we will give you whatever you ask!” Rex-Mall was willing to go to great lengths to get Spencer on his side. He began to wait patiently as Spencer continued to examine the technology in the room before turning to face him.
“Is that so? A temporary alliance will benefit us both, as long as you keep your side of the deal that is.”, Spencer wanted to make sure they understood what he meant, so he began to release a pressure that pushed everyone in the ship except for him and Bey’on to the floor.
“I’ll gladly help you!” Promptly releasing them, he clapped his hands together, “In return for my help I will have full access to your technology and the bodies of all of your dead soldiers!” Flickering and appearing in front Rex-Mall, he placed out his hand. “Deal?”
The startled general jumped in surprise, but he kept his composure, “This isn’t my decision to make, I have to contact my superiors and explain the situation. I will contact them and then call you back. Till then, please return to your ship.” Asking them to leave the ship took a toll on his mind as he noticed a slight frown on Spencer’s face, fearing that he didn’t take well to that request.
“Very well.” Retracting his hand, Spencer once again waved his right hand in a circular motion, opening another breach that he promptly entered whilst dragging the reluctant Bey’on with him.

Arriving back at his ship, Spencer was now in the middle of receiving the death stare from Bey’on, he ignored her for a short while, but it continued.
“What?” he looked at her confused by why she was staring at him.
“I would like for you to take me on your next excursion on this new planet, I’m greatly interested in their technology and I would like to learn as much of it as I can before we leave.” She looked him in the eyes as she didn’t want no for an answer.
He stared back at her briefly before simply shrugging his shoulders, “Might as well… I don’t see why not.” Giving her his answer, she appeared to be happy before she rushed back to her lab. Watching her leave, he enjoyed the view before bringing his attention to the signal that was being transmitted to his ship. Opening his screen, the face of Rex-Mall appeared.
“My superiors have no issue for the first half of your request, but they wish to speak with you directly for the second half.” Mall finished speaking as he continued to watch Spencer.
“As they wish, lead the way, let’s hope that you do not waste my time.” Spencer turned off the transmission as he began to follow the General’s ship into the atmosphere of Krypton, rapidly approaching the surface of the planet within moments. After roughly a minute, the General led Spencer to an Erkolian/Kryptonian Military Base, landing their massive ship on a just as large platform as Spencer landed the Bioship on another he was instructed to by the General.
Waiting for Bey’on as she prepared all of her tools for the excursion, soon enough she was ready, the two beginning to exit the ship and start their adventure on this iconic planet.
