Zephyria - Chapter 19
For those following along this absurd journey up until this point expected an epic, drawn-out battle between these Yakuza Lieutenants and the Vanguard Commanders, you’d be mistaken. Perhaps not disappointed, but definitely mistaken.
You see, the Five Crime Syndicates of Zephyria were powerful. Extremely powerful. Each possessed a neo-military so potent that if they were to join to combine one mega-gang, they could almost rival the Zephyrian Royal Family’s own official forces. Of course, that’d never happen, they’re too busy fighting amongst themselves for underworld supremecy. But one sadistic moron could dream.
Anway, their might wasn’t entirely based upon fodder. Within their ranks were pretty decent fighters. Their mid level members had the combat ability similar to 5-Star Knights (mastery over Rare sOr), whilst their upper echelon ( la Graudus and Lche) were on par with 6-Stars (mastery over Super-Rare sOr). Some would even compare the mafia heads to 7-Star Knights.
That’s the thing though. Graudus u0026 Lache vs Amber u0026 Elektra was a mismatch. A huge one. The disparity between the two duos’ skillset was so large, and all four knew it. All four knew that they were to partake in the most lopsided beatdowns of their entire life, and they all were fully aware of which side of that beatdown they’d be on.
“What the heck are we going to do?!” Lache cried, staring into the four beady eyes of the Zephyrian manifestation of death. “We really are no match for them.”
“Relax,” Graudus assured him. “They won’t be able to break this shield. ”
“So we’re just gonna sit here all day until our fleet arrives?”
“Seems like it.”
“But what if they fall to those other knights?”
Graudus looked behind at the chaotic battleground in the sky, then shivered. They were getting abosultely destroyed, no survivors.
“You’re.. you’re right. Call for backup just in case. Might actually need Madame Oyabun to help us out.”
Lche fumbled for his phone and immediately dialed their boss, whilst Amber u0026 Elektra watched intimidatingly. If I were on the phone and saw them stare at me in such fashion I would hang up, hand it over and run away. But of course, Lche did not have such luxury.
It rang.
It rang some more.
Then it went voicemail.
Their hearts sunk, 1cm from their current position to be precise.
Amber gave a smile of satisfaction.
“You’re gonna have to fight for yourselves for once.” she scoffed as she watched their cockiness slowly turn into desperation then hopelessness.
“She’s right, no one’s coming for you. ” Elektra said, before dashing right up to them and striking their forcefield with one of her tonfa blades. “And if they did-”
[LIGHTNING SLASH: 100 HITS]
Elektra speedily slashed the forcefield in all directions, weakening the shield’s structural integrity.
“there’ll be no one here to save. Just as before.”
She somersaulted backwards, revealing Amber’s cannon which had charged up to a bright red.
[BLASTER: INFERNO BURNO]
Amber yet again fired a rapidly growing fireball that destroyed their forcefield upon impact, causing for another large explosion and resulting smoke.
[OPAL CENTURAL]
Attempting to capitalise on the sudden lack of clarity, Lche fired 100 rapid fire rounds from his Super-Rare [Opal] powered pistols, through the smoke and towards Amber. She expected as much.
[BLASTER: INFERNO TURNO]
Amber’s cannon blasted rotational flames that engulfed Lache’s Opal bullets, countering his attack and inflicting several major burns onto his entire body. The flames also cleared the smoke, but his companion was no longer besides him. She quickly turned around to see Graudus’s katana (powered by Super Rare [Ruby] sOr) mid-swing towards her neck.
Damn, she thought. Even now he’d play dirty.
Before the katana could behead her, Elektra blinked behind Amber and blocked the attack with her blade. His sword shattered, much to his surprise, and Elektra fly kicked him to the ground.
“Thanks,” Amber said, turning to her comrade who had just saved her life. “Let’s end this.”
“Agreed.”
**Slo-Mo** (0.5 seconds)
Elektra grabbed Graudus and dragged him across the ground towards Lche, who had just about managed to get to his feet. She then charged up her tonfa blades and precisely threw them towards their feet, impaling them and restricting their movement. She then dashed behind them, opposite to where Amber was.
**End Slo-Mo**
The two lieutenants screamed at the sudden pain, but before they could attempt to escape, a pincer attack was already heading straight towards them.
[BLASTER: INFERNO SPURNO] + [LIGHTNING SLICE: 2 STRIKES]
Amber’s cannon charged up, and she fired a concentrated heat beam straight towards them. At the same time, Elektra kicked the air twice with her charged up blade wheels, sending two lightning slashes towards their back.
The attacks collided, and the impact caused a huge, huge explosion.
To avoid getting caught up in the damage, Elektra swiftly carried Amber and Aloe to the safety of the shield protecting the Inn-u.
Aloe let down her shield for them once everything had settled, and they all slowly walked up to observe the bodies, cut up and incinerated.
“Scan” Aloe commanded, to which her orb screened the two bodies.
As she stared at them, her earrings vibrated in an important manner, but her face remained calm.
People dying wasn’t anything new to her, and if it were deserved then she did not mind. But to make sure, she looked up at Amber and Elektra, who’s auras had faded away,
“Was it worth it?” she asked. “Are you at peace?”
“No.” Elektra replied, as she looked towards Amber, in tears but standing tall. “Nothing can make me forgive or forget what they did, what they took from me. From us.”
Elektra then looked towards the horizon, her team kicking ass in the air.
“But I am happy. I’ve got you guys now.”
*insert cute threeway hug*
